Okay...saber chucks....no.
Anyways, I read through what you guys are talking about, and I like it!
So this is going to take place in the time of the Old Republic or even before then? If you don't mind, I want to help! :D

I have another great idea! No, it doesn't have anything to do with saber-chucks. Let's set it just after the Jedi Civil War, in the KOTOR2 timeline. If we do that it'll make things a lot more interesting because of the bounty for live jedi. If we want we can also get our characters to meet some of the main characters in KOTOR2. Wouldn't that be cool?

Eh. Then we require people to have a knowledge of KOTOR 2.

The whole point of this timeline was to prevent people having a certain knowledge of something and make it more free.

Good point, but why don't we keep that suggestion open for future debate?

Sure, I was just expressing my own opinion towards it. If other people agree, I'll go with the flow. I do love KOTOR II so I wouldn't mind personally. It just increases the need for NPC profiles so everybody knows them and stuff.

Also, if anyone needs any planet or culture information on anything Star Wars during the storybook you can ask me. I know just about everything that happened in the movies and the two KOTOR games. Don't call me a geek though, I never memorized that stuff intentionally. My brain is like a sponge that absorbs anything it touches, it has marvelously done so with Star Wars. So yeah, ask me if you have any questions.

I wouldn't go with an approaching civil war. There's just been one! Civil wars have appeared too often throughout the Star War saga (this includes books and games). I'm liking the sound of the death of a planetary governer. Make it an assassination and it'd warrant a Jedi investigation, would it not? I have four questions if there is an assassination/death. What planet are they on? What is the governers name (he does need one)? Who are the assassins (Mandalorians anyone?)? and Will the Sith take a direct hand in the goveners death? I'd prefer it if the didn't, it'd make it more mysterious.

No Clone Troopers? :(

First of all, I wasn't suggesting the story take place during a civil war. It takes place AFTER the Jedi Civil War, meaning the story takes place during the KOTOR2 storyline where there are bounties for live jedi. In which case the Republic would be recovering from the war. They are in charge, but their athority has weakened due to the war.

I think the death of a local planetary governor, or a mid-level senator would work best.

Okay let's slow down here for a moment. I have to say a few things. Like Dynamo, I know a crap load about the history of this period. Second, if it is an assassination, the Sith definetley will have had a hand in it. Especially if it's a senator or governor. I mean they just lost a war (again) so they are going to go after pro-Jedi leaders. Third, I think we should have the Exchange involved. The bounties they have on LIVE JEDI would make it a lot more interesting. Finally to Firestarters comment, in the KOTOR II timeline, new Jedi are trained. Not a lot, but they are. They're on planets like Telos, Dantooine, Tatooine, Manaan, and of course Koribann. You can't leave out Koribann. You just can't. It's the homeworld of the Sith.

If we go with the planetary Civil War idea, maybe we could make so that Sith technology was used on one side and the Jedi were on the other.

Okay, this is sweet!

I will follow along and pop in as much as I can, but with my experience of the last storybook I was in, um.... you won't see a lot of me. I'm to slow, and I was left way behind, so, I'll just take big jumps.

Anyway, I can't wait to reveal my character, Zuinar Kleb, bounty hunter!
Whoops, I guess that sort of reveals him, well I guess you don't know much about him yet.

Anyway. I know not a lot of history, but I have seen all movies and read several books, before and after the series.

Why does everyone only like the Old Republic era??
But anyways, Star Wars fanatic (me) has a suggestion.
Why don't you basically portray the Sith side of the story?
I mean have them as a main character, and everything from their point of view??
(Wait? are you doing this already?)
The reason I suggest this is because I'm reading (over again) Darth Maul: Shadowhunter by Michael Reaves. The story basically has a Sith point of view thing. It breaks the trend.

Well, I guess that all depends on what type of character you decide to use.

What planet is Manaan? I forgot. Just give me a short description of the planet and it'll click into my head.

Basically Manaan is nothing but an ocean world And I mean that quite literally. The only thing that's inhabitable is Atho City. It floats. And the Selkath (Fishy people) are just the weirdest looking things I have ever seen. PsychicNinja did have a good idea though. Let's pool our ideas.

1.) Sith re-emergence

2.) Telling from Sith point of view

3.) Sith assassination/Civil War
And is there anything else that I'm forgetting. We really need to get the first post on this thing soon or this stroybook is going to just have ideas.

Oh yeah, that's right. I never liked that planet in KOTOR1.

I don't have any other ideas beside what you've suggested, but I vote for 1.)
