option in settings to hide the game tab? it might be easier to have school districts not block yewis.

This is a suggestion that I've had in the back of my mind for awhile now but feel free to ignore! It's a part of my brainstorming to attract more folks to the Resources section of the forums.

Like the Roleplay Forum is separated from Forums in general and have their own nav tab, I would love to see a separate nav tab for "Resources" that links/holds the forums under the resources umbrella viewforum.php?f=321

It may help people navigate to the area who aren't familiar with that part of the site. That's my line of thinking anyway ^^

@Omni ->> This is a good idea, but it's something I've resisted doing because more nav tabs don't mean that people use them. There's a point of diminishing returns where more nav tabs means people use them less. I'm also going to be added another nav tab within the next week.

But, something I've thought of doing is collapsing the Literary Tabs into just two: Poetry and Prose. The blogs will also be removed soon, so that frees up space too. So, we'd have:

- All Literary
- Clubs
- Forums
- People
- Poetry
- Prose
- Roleplays

That's two less than now, and that would free up room for Resources and the new tab I'm putting together. Might also just link to the leaderboards from the homepage since Team Tortoise is now on the homepage, obviating one of the biggest reasons to have that page as a tab.

Thoughts on the above menu structure (anyone)?

Agreed on the nav tabs comment! When tackling Resources myself, I came to a similar conclusion and had a similar thought to you regarding your proposed nav tab changes:

- All Literary
- Clubs
- Forums
- People
- Poetry
- Prose
- Roleplays

I think this is great and helps de-clutter the navtabs.

Also, when/if we move to WriterFeed, I wonder if it would make sense thematically to change the "People" tab to "Feed" tab?

@Omni ->> That does make sense semantically to rename it to Feed. Probably more so than People, which may lead to one assuming it's a list of members.

Loving the changes so far!

Is it possible to get the graphs for "who clicked on your work when" back?
(I like graphs qq)

about that new navtab menu- could you keep the "shorts" tab or at least pit a filter in the all literary for short works? it helps a lot for reviewing!

Request: There is not a way (that I found) to delete folders in the publishing center. I'd have to go to my profile to do that. It would make sense to have all those abilities in one place :)

i know in the past, blocking would not stop one from getting private messages from a member. is there any way to implement that so either you are unable to send a message to someone who has blocked you OR it filters the messages?

(i know this because in the beginning of my time on yws, i blocked a member and they were still able to send me harassing messages. i would have put it in the report a site bug thread but i have no idea if it's meant to be a feature that you don't get messages from blocked members)

@romanticchemist ->> Good point. I'll update the profile privacy settings so that both soft and hard blocks also block the ability to send you a PM.

So many awesome updates Nate! Thank you!

Really like the new blocking / privacy features! Seems really easy to use / explain! Would love if they also applied to our literary works! (ie. "Anyone can read" / "Only YWSers Can Read") I would absolutely choose "Only YWSers Can Read" for privacy and be a lot more comfortable posting works without concerns for future publication issues.

---

So incredibly minor - but it's always bothered me that the capitalization is inconsistent for the usergroups ->

ie. Administrators, Distinguished Members, Junior Moderators, and Global moderators

GMs can't change the usergroup name to fix that, but would you be able to change it to be "Global Moderators" rather than "Global moderators"? :)

---

I have noticed with the New PM stuff there's no longer any way to see our "Post Rankings" -> The Post Ranking System Would be fun if these were displayed somewhere on profiles perhaps, even if it was like an automatic badge. (I selfishly like the Post Ranking System because long ago Meshugenah gave me a unique one!)

---

Liking the new home page quite a bit! I wonder if it'd be possible there for mods to advertise ongoing site events (like review day / revmo / napo) in that section that currently has the "Major Site Redesign" box in the future? Usually we advertise those sorts of events in the banner - but would be fun to have a blurb on the home page too?

--

ETA: One thing that we're missing on the home screen, that does feel like it maybe belongs *somewhere* on the site, but not sure where - would be the statistics about how many reviews and literary works have been written each month (I know as mods we tend to look at that when we come up with goals / contests for RevMo!) but also just kind of interesting to watch? I'm not sure exactly where this information would make the most sense to keep, but I did like that we could see it before.

Also noticed that if you type /statistics on to the site url it's still accessible which is nice, just a matter of remembering!

there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

I’ve been trying to add my birthday to my profile, but it requires me to include my birth year. What about adding an option, like there was previously, to have your birthday without displaying your age? I think that would be helpful for people who are more privacy-conscious (like myself) or simply aren’t comfortable sharing that information.
