Rhea has always felt a strange connection to the moon, but she never knew why--until the night her grandmother, on her deathbed, passes her a mysterious pendant with an ancient name inscribed on it: Selene, the long-lost goddess of the moon. Unbeknownst to Rhea, this name holds divine power, one the gods of Olympus have been hunting for centuries.

Suddenly, Rhea's ordinary life is shattered. Her abilities awaken, and the Olympians, led by Hermes and Apollo, are hot on her trail. Desperate to protect herself and the moon's magic, Rhea flees to the ancient ruins of Delphi, where she learns that the power she's inherited could restore Selene's shattered soul--or consume her entirely.

When captured by the gods, Rhea must decide: surrender the name to Zeus or face being jailed. But, when she speaks Selene's true name, Rhea becomes a force unlike any other--half mortal, half goddess, with the moon's power coursing through her veins. When she meets a fellow prisoner of the gods that offers to help her, Rhea must learn what it means to steal, and rule, the moon.

• The good thing about this novel is that I don't have to focus too much on worldbuilding (this takes place in the mortal world + Olympus).
• If I can finish the main outline... I might start writing? I kinda wanna make a playlist, mood board, the outlines etc before I even start. So that's definitely a goal!
• Spend at least 45 mins to an hour everyday of April on this project! I'm not going to do a wordcount goal because I honestly don't even know if I'm gonna start writing yet. So, a time-based goal sounds great.

This looks real interesting! seeing the return of Hermes and Apollo after seeing them in Daughter of War has me intrigued. Even though the way Rhea gets into the situation is different, her discovering amazing powers sounds kinda similar to Josephine's story. I am interested to see more about how she differs!

This looks so promising!!! I have faith that this will turn out to be an absolutely incredible project and I can't wait to watch it unfold!!!

Camp NovMo Day 1-3

These past few days I have worked on characters! Some of these might look familiar... hehe.

Rhea Petrakis - (MC) Raised in a small coastal village by her grandmother, Rhea has learned to live simply, quietly, and always half aware that there was something different about her. She's practical and cautious. The death of her grandmother changed something in her, and now she can seem a bit heartless. She doesn't know much about the Olympian world and didn't even know gods existed until she spoke Selene's name, and found Hermes and Apollo at her doorstep. Rhea's hair is wavy, fiery red, and long (down to her waist). She has hazel eyes and freckles that line her nose and cheeks. She's pretty skinny and short-- only standing at 5'2".

Jovana "J.C" Celadine - (LI) J.C is the daughter of Josephine and Jase (from The Daughter of War), but doesn't know it. Josephine hid her pregnancy from her husband, Jase, and was forced to give Jovana up at birth by Hera, so Jovana was left on a random woman's doorstep in Athens. The woman who raised her, Loren Celadine, was rarely around, and it didn't take long before Jovana started uncovering her divine powers and getting into trouble with the Gods. At the young age of fourteen, she was imprisoned by Athena because she was a threat to society. Jovana has the same power as her mother-- fire. She's normal height, standing at 5'7", and has pale skin and dark brown, almost black pin-straight hair. Her eyes are a hypnotizing green like her mother's and she has chiseled yet somewhat ghastly features. She can look a bit intimidating-- and definitely acts like it.

Jase Vitalis - (SAC) Jase is a main character from Daughter of War and is also Josephine's husband. He is the head of Athena's militia and is unaware that he has a child. When he's assigned by Zeus to monitor Rhea and Jovana, Jase accepts the mission with no hesitation, as it is his duty to serve the gods. He sees shades of Josephine in Jovana before he even realizes the truth. Jase is extremely tall, standing at around 6'7", and has pale skin with tattoos of his Olympian feats all over his body. He has messy black hair, stubble on his chin and jawline, and light grey eyes. He's pretty muscular and works out often. He is a god, created artificially by Hecate and Poseidon. Jase has the power to control shadows.

Josephine - (ANT) Josephine is the main character in The Daughter of War and was once a pawn for the gods. After overcoming countless obstacles, she was awarded a seat on the Olympian Council next to Zeus. She is pinned on Rhea because Zeus lied to her-- he promised youth and pure, unconditional immortality to Josephine if she could somehow get Selene's essence to him. She agrees, unknowing that she'll also be fighting against her own daughter in the process. Josephine is normal height, with slightly tanned skin and golden blonde-- usually braided-- hair. She has seafoam green eyes and looks like her mother, Aphrodite. Her father is Ares.

Eidothea - (SC) Eidothea is a scholar and sorceress living in the submerged city of Nereid's Gate. She's clever, young, and extremely handy. Eidothea is a descendant of sea-nymphs who rejected Poseidon's rule. She's half mortal and helps Jovana, Jase, and Rhea in Delphi once they escape Olympian prison. She becomes one of their most helpful allies. Eidothea has a blueish tint to her skin and is tall, but not as tall as Jase. She has violet-colored, curly braids and usually wears loose linen dresses.

I don't think I can put into words (as a Daughter of War fan) how much hype these character bios GIVE ME!!!

Jovana, Jase, and Josephines involvements are VERY intriguing and its soo cool to see them later in life. I think its very cool that you are sticking to your universe and involving them in their later lives. I can't wait to see how they've changed!

Jovana's character is one of the most exciting to me because OH GOD HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? Imprisoned because she has the same power all the gods feared! She must be soooo traumatized bro.
