character swap challenge

Hello everybody, and we hope you're having a good time this Valentines Season! In the spirit of Social Week, your friendly GenLit Mods would like to present a little writing challenge!
The challenge is: a character swap! In this event, you can write a short story featuring your own style, while using other people's characters with the author's consent--- and offering up your own. It's the season! So get writing with a touch of romance. Check out all the details below
Here's how it will go:
1. Fill in your character sheet: Choose one of your original characters to offer up for the swap, then fill out your character sheet with their information (you'll find the template in the second post).
2. Claim your spot: Reply to this post, including your complete character sheet, to claim your spot in the challenge.
3. Find another character: Find another character in the thread that you would want to write for. Tag their creator with a request to claim them, and remember--one character per participant!
4. Start writing! Create a flash fiction or short story in your usual style, down to your standard setting or original world. Your only prompts are to prominently feature the character you picked, and have an element of romance--more on the latter below. Now, keep in mind, these stories don't need to be super fleshed-out. Just create a cute, intense, or even ridiculous scenario, and have fun with it!
Take a look at the spoiler "Wheel of Challenges" where you can get a romantic prompt to incorporate in your tale.
5. Post your story: When you're done with your story, update your original post with the story in a spoiler and include the title. Be sure to tag the creator of the character you picked!
Wheel of Challenges
Spoiler
Though romance doesn't have to be your main genre, add a few sparks! That's why, for this event, we have a... Wheel of Challenges! There are small challenges and prompts that include some romantic elements, which you can add to your story.
Click the link below to access the wheel and spin once to get your challenge!
Here are some things to keep in mind as you write:
- Rules of consent: You may only feature someone else's character if they've been presented in this thread. You can use any references or names mentioned in their character sheet, but anything more will require permission from the original creator first. Remember, consent is important when you're trading original work! (Please also note that no changes can be made to the character (name, specific details, etc.) unless the author gives consent.)
- Timeframe & deadline: Claim your spot and submit your character sheet by February 10 - 11 and fill in your request for another character by February 11. Start writing once you've found a character! The timeframe of this event is February 10 - 16.
- Wordcount & Rating: Your story should have a maximum word count of 3500, and a minimum word count of 1500. Maintain a general audience or PG-13 rating and ensure that the tale contains no explicit content.
- What you can focus on: The stories will mainly be judged on creativity, use of characters, the romantic theme (big or small), and adherence to the rules (word count, rating, etc.). This is just to give you an idea of what to focus on, but once you've got the necessary parts, you can put your own creative spin on it!
- Questions: If you have any questions, just shoot a PM to @Roxanne or @RavenAkuma.
