I found out they make a great vegetarian solution for protein and iron (I'm pescetarian technically but there's not great access to fish/seafood in this region).

Problem...apart from a salad topping, I don't know the first thing about cooking with chickpeas :3

To Kita's shock, Leiytning put his claw to her stomach, just as he did with the poor soldier moments ago.

"If a mortal's heart breaks, does it show? Or will it look like all the others I've removed?" ...Leiytning's maw flashed a sinister grin. "Shall we find out?"

Hmmm...I feel like if Kita were in a normal state of mind, she may not pull a Halloween trick on her own, but with friends? She would likely be in on it. With her *old friends*, it would be a more innocent type of prank. Egging somebody's house or helping deface a statue/decoration. With her *new semi-friends*, it would likely be a little more intense. Something like replacing an everyday potion with one that bursts into frigid smoke when opened. You know, totally normal stuff XD

I know, for a secret project, I've dropped too many hints already XD But this time I have good reason!! I've been feeling kinda dispirited when it comes to writing projects bigger than a ranty style of poetry and the rare short story. Surely, the fun, detailed, and communal aspects of NovMo could help with that right?? >.>

And let that be a sign for anyone else feeling uncertain about NovMo this year! If I can bring my tired, gloomy a** to participate, you could absolutely rock it!!

Southern states are struggling tremendously. Pockets of Kentucky and Tennessee, with more major zones across Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida. In the worst spots, many people are stranded, struggling for basic necessities, missing, and the death count still threatens to rise. In information made public, released from whistleblowers, and straight from victims now in our communities:

Local authorities are grounded, and federal workers are standing idle. In other words; NOTHING IS HAPPENING. Respect to the workers of course, these guys are amazing for what they do, but they are not getting the clearance they need to continue these efforts.

Now, I'm shocked to find out from my dad (I'm not specifying what he does, but it involves small aircraft including rescue vehicles, so he knows this stuff very well) that local citizens with helicopters and drones are now barred from flying in these zones.

For those who don't know, this is a decision so dumb even I couldn't shut my trap; volunteer pilots have been aiding in finding stranded people and delivering necessities to victims all across the states already. We're talking water, baby wipes, insulin, blankets, and more. And KNOWING THIS IS HAPPENING, the federal decision is to restrict airspace in these areas to make way for FEMA workers to "do their job."

The problem is, THEY'RE NOT GETTING THE CLEARANCE TO DO SAID JOB. Funnily enough, private aircraft hasn't been getting in anybody's way yet, especially since a vast majority of efforts are on the ground. Also, even if rescue aircraft were to get involved, there are already systems in place to prevent private aircraft from getting in the way. As for drones, f*** off, how tf is a drone getting the way? Rather, these pilots have been helping victims in need until now and expediting rescue and relief efforts. Now they're restricted, and local authorities are still grounded. I've looked into volunteer services, and there are places you can donate, but actual volunteer services are limited. It's like these people are in the hands of FEMA alone and how is that going?

They're standing idle and running out of funds. While others could be stranded, even found victims get a measly $750. National 'rona relief was more, for god's sake. And shocking as it may be, $750 is like a week's grocery bill for a family of 5 in many areas nowadays. These guys think that's going to make a difference, while these people have no livelihood, no homes, and are trying to get their lives figured out?? Bs. I am so mad, my hands are shaking rn.

These people are relying on grossly unprepared forces to survive. Over 200 are confirmed dead, the damage is unfathomable, and many are still missing.

Guys, if you've gotten through this, I'm begging you. This situation is so much worse than you could be thinking. I am not a religious person, but I'm going to ask anyway -pray for these people, send good vibes, stay informed, anything. This is such a tragedy.
