Well thank you :D

"You'll have to forgive me--I know very little of Dathomirian culture. All I know is that there are Nightbrothers and Nightsisters." She leaned forward. "What were your siblings like?"

have you seen acolyte im losing my mind over here

"I had no brothers by blood." He was obviously uncomfortable discussing this, it was something he'd resigned himself not being being able to hide very well. No matter how hard he tried, it was something that still managed to get under his skin. "We were all warriors. That is what we were trained to be. But we were not permitted to practice the magicks of the Sisters without their permission." His tone was veiled with bitterness there. Perhaps if they had united beneath the magick of Dathomir, they would have stood a better chance against the Jedi-Killer and his droid army. "Those who showed potential were often trained to better the clans...or the likes of the highest bidder." He gritted his teeth slightly, his eyes lowering to the utensils on his empty plate.

Started it yesterday but had to stop to go on a walk. I'm gonna watch it later today with my sister

"Hmm." She eyed him, taking note of his expression and posture. "I take it the pecking order did not agree with you. Who were these bidders you speak of?"
Ok not gonna say anything

also might or might not be writing Sirejj's battle with that random Jedi on Akldhani and linking it to him finding out about Atoa
"The hierarchy had nothing to do with it." He muttered. "I simply would not be bartered." He took the knife and balanced it on the tip of his finger, and then allowed it to stay suspended in the air as he removed his hand. "One walks this planet as we speak." The answer of her question turned his mind to Vader, and his brow furrowed. The knife lowered back into his palm.

Ooo nice!

"Oh?" She frowned. "Interesting." His use of the Force caught her off guard once again, but she hid it better this time. "You weren't particularly close to your family, then...but you felt their loss, surely. Were you on Dathomir when it happened?"

I could either post it here as a flashback or a cut scene at some point or just finish it and keep it for reference. Definitely a cool scene at least I think

Sirejj rested his left arm on his chair and his right elbow on the table. He leaned forward slowly and lifted his clenched fist his lips, almost appearing to whisper something into his hand. He was silent for a moment, peering over his hand at Thalassa.

"Yes." He answered quietly, that singular word as sharp as the knife on the table in front of him.

That's up to you! I'd love to read it whatever you decide.

Thalassa dipped her head. "I'm sorry for you, then." She cut herself a slice of fish, then said, "You have my sympathy and understanding in that regard--to a certain extent. I've not lost nearly as much, of course. But I'll offer you a warning, as well. Should you attempt to cast your own sympathy toward the Atoans rather than standing with us during this investigation, neither of us will hesitate to make you sorry. One genocide does not equal another."

His eyes flickered but a smile crossed his face. He lowered his hand to the table and leaned back in his chair.

"Lady Tarkin. Wise as ever." He laughed softly, idly twirling the knife on the table with his finger. "I have no room for righteous indignation; that is the way of the Jedi." His eyes met hers. "I despise this destructive philosophy that some of your family holds so close to heart, but I have little sympathy for the weak. You needn't worry." He stopped toying with the knife and set it in his plate. "We are on the same side."

She returned the smile. "You're referring to my husband's family, not mine. But I'm glad to hear you have no intention of mistaking victimhood for nobility. If things had gone my way, they wouldn't have been exterminated. But that's the way things are, for better or for worse." Her eyes followed the knife. "Do take care with that; Lord Vader might think you mean us harm if you keep toying with it out in the open."

"No need to tell me twice." The blade vanished from sight, as if into thin air. "Hopefully after he and the Governor get back from their little jaunt, he'll leave." He said in a lowered tone. Vader was nowhere nearby but he was still cautious. Sirejj had a sneaking concern that Vader would try to stall his stay in order to pursue his paranoia, but he stifled that quickly.

"I'm eager for them to be gone even for a little while, honestly. The sooner the better." She chuckled dryly. "Once the agent is properly gone, they'll be able to let loose and hopefully the air here will thin out. There's always some tension when Wilhuff and I are both here, but Vader has made it quite a bit worse." She sipped at her drink thoughtfully. "Gideon is probably miserable."

Sirejj couldn't help but subdue a grin. Gideon was an unfortunate soul to be caught up in all this to be sure. It was just a little funny though that it upset him so badly.

"Perhaps they can go out and kill a veermok or two instead of taking it out on me." Sirejj said. "Get it out of their system for the time being."

"Ugh. No veermoks, please." She rolled her eyes. "I've been married to Wilhuff for nearly thirty years, and the amount of veermok meat, veermok skins, veermok bones, veermok everything that he has amassed...it's unthinkable. If they come home with another one, I swear I'll just go home a few days ahead of schedule. There's a whole damned room dedicated to veermok trophies."

Sirejj chuckled. "He'd probably enjoy Dathomir's hunting. I'd bet money on a rancor beating a veermok any day." He raised an eyebrow, still smiling. "That's not an invitation though, mind you."

"No, and I certainly wouldn't pass it along if it was. We may have our differences, but I need my husband alive." Thalassa finished off her meal with a small grin. "I presume he doesn't want you on the Carrion at all, even after Vader leaves?"

Way, way back in the 1988 Presidential election, then Vice President George H W Bush had a phrase he liked to use: "A Thousand Points of Light." It refers to the idea that a community is made up of people who contribute in a thousand, different small ways, but with each helping to illuminate their community. It's a phrase I think about a lot when it comes to YWS. Looking forward, the site will continue to change and grow, but it will always remain a community dedicated to promoting creative writing as a favorite pastime.
