Chickens, and Gooses, and Penguins, oh my!

I am embracing the mayhem... well maybe embracing is the wrong word xD but I am hopeful that poetry and art can be made from it!

In response to the recent YWS excitement and allegiances regarding various birds... (see spoiler for details on recent predicaments)

EXCITING PRIZES

I'll be offering a prize of 500 points to the best Art Piece & 500 points to the best Poem. There may be prizes for other categories if there are multiple entries! A one of a kind chicken doodle will also be offered to the the users who win, the chicken may look like a penguin, this has not been determined yet.

JUDGING CRITERIA

You'll be judged on 1) connection to theme, 2) humor, 3) artistic quality, 4) impact, and 5) originality.

DEADLINE

Deadline Your deadline is March 20th (at 1:23 pm, EST) though this may be extended.

Submit your piece by simply leaving it in a comment below. If you have questions they can be asked in this thread too!

If you submit an art piece you can submit any sort of medium, but please make sure the work is fully original (ie. not a collage of photos that someone else took).

And watch out for penguins... I'm still not sure about their intentions!

@Snoink well absolutely! I'd LOVE to see that! And actually now that you mention it, I actually have a baby-chicken I crocheted somewhere... I should find it.

Great question @Yosh - While the judging panel feels strongly about the superiority of chickens, they will remain impartial in judging the art / poetry! And all POVs are welcome to submit.

Aight looks like I'll be the first one here!

Enspoilered is this massively enormously gigantically wonderful poem.

Amidst the fowl kingdom's grand design,
In regal splendor, three birds shine:
The Chiken, Pengu, and the Goos,
Each with their quirks, their strengths, their use.

But lo, observe the Goos with care,
And see its elegance so rare!
With wings that span an endless sky,
It soars above with ease on high.

The Chiken, oh, it tries its best,
But flightless, it's forever pressed
To flap its wings and run around,
A landlocked bird, trapped on the ground.

The Pengu, too, has many charms to spare,
But on land, their grace cannot compare.
In water, it's a beautiful sight to see,
But on dry ground, it's less than free.

The Goos, however, stands alone,
A bird of power, grace, and tone.
Its feathers white, its eyes so bright,
It bamboozles watchers in full flight.

With honks that pierce the tranquil air,
It fills our hearts with the purest flair.
Oh, Goos, we hail thee, noble bird,
A symbol of the best preferred.

In this fowl kingdom's grand parade,
None can match the greatness displayed.
I'll stop my mindless, ranting prattle--
The Goos is the winner of this battle.

Whether you can swim or fly,
The end of this humble poem is nigh.
So let us all bow down with glee,
And hail the Goos, for eternity!
