inspired by @PaigeFantasy & @Tatteredstones....

A Bowl of Boiling Cheetos

^ This NaPo thread would be quirky, emotional, and revolutionary. Great option for anyone who likes cooking poetry. Also I repeat my request for more cheese related poetry on YWS. There is simply not enough poetry about cheese.

EDIT: I just read through all of these again and there are 3 other times that I've referenced cheese on top of the two above xD I guess if you say anything about cheese my brain automatically says "poetry" - watch out for 2024.

NaPo. But make it chaos.

@weathervane wrote:had a dream shrek 5 was announced comic-con style

LuxLuthor wrote:I went to my family reunion picnic and Danny DeVito was there and casually came up and gave me a hug like he was part of the family

Both of these statuses deserve a whole NaPo thread regarding these subjects. I am rioting if in 2024 we don't see any Shrek or Danny DeVito poetry. It is just not right.

For NaPo 2024 we're getting personal. Poetry about apples. And applesauce. And also cinnamon.

Poetry is always political. As are birds.

10 points to the person who can tell me where Omni's quote comes from on YWS.

@weathervane wrote:poetry is everywhere and i love everything

This one feels like a very beautiful poetry thread with some serious Studio Ghibli and 4th wall breaking vibes.

napo vibes, napo vibes, napo vibes...

@LadyMysterio wrote:Apparently the circus is town

circus poetry? I'd read it! (Can you imagine a series of limericks from the perspective of a clown that wanted to run away from the circus to become a banker? What about his prose-poem goodbye-letter to his secret love, the popcorn concession stand worker? Let's make it happen folks!)

There's been some poetry brewing....

@Snoink wrote:spider legs that have escaped the entrappings of the primordial sea

Halloween poetry? Sea-monster poetry? Odysseus allusions? Hero's journey through a seafood diner - told through a series of prose-poetry scenes? Here for it.

@FireEyes wrote:gum wrapper heart

This is new heart-imagery - candy-shop napo vibes!

@weathervane wrote:taco bell nacho fries

I am telling you something in my brain makes me read every reference to cheese as poetry. Also have you ever read or heard of taco bell quarterly they are a literary magazine for "the Taco Bell Arts and Letters" - fair warning some of their work has some mature themes / language - but if you're comfortable with that, you might enjoy reading their latest edition. It is a vibe.

@AilahEvelynMae wrote:life is so much better with tater tots

I'm not sure if I could write an entire NaPo with 30 poems on just tater-tots, but I certainly could use that title in a NaPo about potatoes. If someone writes a whole NaPo about potatoes please let me know. I already have 3 potato poems I would be happy to contribute for inspo.

@weathervane wrote:thinking about every poem i've left unfinished

I genuinely like this one as a NaPo title idea too - ahhh - imagine a napo where you finish up all your poetry loose-ends, and re-write stuff that never had a proper ending. Sounds like a cool NaPo concept!

Please remember folks, it is never too early to start thinking about National Poetry Writing Month! The jam jars are flying off the shelves! Find those titles quick before they go! ;)

@creaturefeature wrote:okay but like why isn't pluto a planet genuinely

okay we need this as a napo thread too. poetry about planets, and injustice, and ultimate truth. grappling with the stars, fighting for the right to be a planet. poetry from the perspective of a distressed astronomer. poetry for anyone who was ever told their dreams were unreachable. #JusticeForPluto
