I wrote a first draft and it's only about 500 words :/ I was writing it on wider ruled paper than I'm used to so I thought it would be longer xD I guess, is flash fiction okay?

@ExOmelas it can be any length as long as it's under 1000 words.

Might do some more editing, but I finally managed to get it under 1000 words so here goes: A New Adventure (Christmas Carol Song Entry).

@Elinor, I haven't even listened to mine. I may not make it, one of my family members ended up in the hospital and it has been chaotic here at home.
"Those moments when your in so deep, it feels easier to just swim down"

"I'm erasing myself from the narrative. Let future historians wonder how Eliza reacted when you broke her heart

So I made my short story, it took longer than I expected and went through different ideas and well all of them were longer than I expected but this one kinda came out nice? there was no time stamp and I lost track of time so I hope it's ok that it's an hour late.

I'm not use to short stories so all in all it could have come out better, but could have come out much worse.

but without further ado here is the link A fantasy Christmas

Just because I think it does bare explaining as the song I had was have yourself a marry little Christmas and among the normal lyrics of happy Christmas there are lyrics such as "Next year all our troubles will be out of sight" and also "Someday soon we all will be together" which somehow inspired my to write a world where there is trouble among three common fantasy races and that Christmas is where they try to work it out and come together to work as one or "our troubles as a people are out of sight and someday soon we three species will be together" . and I did reinterpret a few things, so I do hope that was also ok.
You did say "inspiration in a place you wouldn't necessarily expect" I think if nothing else I did fulfill on that.

Anyway it was fun thank you for hosting the tournament

I can't remember the last time I wrote prose, so this was a fun challenge, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. :)

Mistletoe

Here's my entry. My song was "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree," and the only thing I took from it for inspiration was the line about Mistletoe. (As you can probably imagine). Hopefully this'll provide a little Holiday entertainment for you.

953 Words.
