I have been known to refuse food to my siblings/niece if they say "cookie" instead of "biscuit". I don't even tell them why, they just have to work it out.

there's a difference between a biscuit and a cookie, i think. cookies are like chocolate chip or oatmeal, they're round and big. biscuits, however, look like the ones in the picture. at least that's what i think. i prefer the word cookie, though. it's more fun to say.

Those are definitely cookies, because the biscuits I see usually don't have any kind of filling. I think cookies are often sweeter than biscuits, and I find them cookies little less bland in appearance and such. Plus, @marmalade is right, and it's fun to say cookie. XD

Totally though, the Pat Buchanans should be called patties

I've already equated "The British are sleeping" to "the redcoats are coming" and can't get that image out of my head. It's also kind of ironic because the people at the time considered themselves British, and yelling at them that they're sleeping would most likely wake up them, which defeats the whole point of saying it.

Unfortunately... neither! Biscuit and cookies are hard foods for me. >.> I prefer bread-based or other desserts than have soft foundation. c:

Guys, biscuits are what you put gravy on. I mean, come on, how can you not want this crumbly goodness for breakfast?

Okay but seriously when an American says biscuit what is that thing it looks like a savoury scone but why would you have it with *gravy*???

They are clearly biscuits. And I'm not a Brit. Like @TriSARAHtops as a non-interested third party I shall confirm, biscuits forever.

Okay. While I do like American biscuits, I have to agree with @marmalade.

@StellaThomas - those biscuits are basically a really crumbly, dense bread. Not sweet at all, which is why we have them with gravy. :P

As a Brit those are biscuit! Like @marmalade said cookies are like chocolate chips cookies, they are soft. Biscuits are for dunking into tea or hot chocolate because they are much more solid ^_^
One must always be careful with books and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.
