Who's ready for NaNoWriMo?

I wondered why the posts were from '06 and the title from '08...

I had no idea what NaNoWriMo was until I read about it here. I'd heard of it but knew nothing about it. So now you people have me excited nearly three months in advance. My mom doesn't want me to do it because of school but she can't do anything if I write before school, on the bus, etc. My only problem is hoping I'm off writer's block by then.

Always >> I thought that doing NaNoWriMo would conflict with school, but it didn't. Not in the least, actually. Yeah. I had a bunch of homework, but I still got everything done. What you need to do is write more than what's required each day. That way, if for some reason you don't write one day, you'll be glad that you are over the minimum word count.

It's all about strategy, my friend.

I was ready in May! I missed having a MaNoWriMo this year. that was a fun month. Was planning in June.

Just an idea, but this forum is currently holding two years worth of NaNo postings. I get that it's a forum and supposed to be full of posts and topics... but maybe we can start making sub-forum for each new year, starting with this one? It'd organize it and make it easier for people to access the most recent postings for that year's NaNo. If we want a thread from a previous year, It wouldn't be all that hard to make a new one.

I just started plotting today, actually. It's superduper exciting!

Too bad that when an idea comes to me I can't bear to let it wait to be written until November.

Kylan -- Technically, you can start when every you like. You could've started in January, if you'd have liked. But you need to add 50,000 words to it in November. 50k. 's what NaNo's all about.

I have no idea what this is but I am going for it!!
