@Verser first of all I don't diss you everytime time you speak, you're really exaggerating here. It looks like you completely forgot all the times I was impressed by the few twists you've made, or when I complimented the quality of most of your short posts.

Second, I'm really used to debates like that (no thanks to Youtube/various forums), and I'm aware that people who are bent on an opinion (such as "Eevee is a cat") usually don't necessarily agree with whatever opinion that's different. I posted links just in case that didn't happen, buuuuut to be fair I saw that coming.

See, I just posted that Eevee was a fennec, with 2 simple links explaining why, and you're still saying it's a cat. With nothing to back up that statement. Way to prove my point. Again though, saw it coming, so it's fine. Keep thinking Eevee's a cat, I really don't mind. I won't be able to change that vision anyway.

@15253 Not a rabbit, but thanks.

@15253, you're welcome! I look forward to having Gabriel and Ren interact some time or the other, since they are very much alike, now that I think of it...

@Tortwag, I agree. Fennec foxes are awesome, but I like red foxes more. :D

(By the way, your new avvie freaks me out. :smt104 )

I don't say this very often, but let's move on to another topic. The creator of Eevee says the Pokémon is a fox, so it's a fox - even if it may look like other animals, such as a cat. (Don't make me lock this topic. :P )

I shall submit a post later this week, but it will be in Day A7, so the rest of you need to catch up. (It feels strange not being the one who has to catch up for once...) Also, I shall edit my first post on page one of the DT so that anybody who is lost can get a quick recap on what has happened.

Suggested topic: Will somebody please explain to me how the tournament system of the Pokémon games (in the video game itself, I mean) works?

@AstralHunter I finished my post with "I won't be able to change that vision anyway" <--- That, if I'm not mistaken, is an indication of moving on.
...Or at least it's supposed to be.
I just like foxes in general. And although the red ones are kind of my favorites as well, it's probably due to the fact that I've been fangirling on Renard the Red Fox for a long time.
To give you an idea, this fictional evildoer became so popular in Medieval France (and to this very day) that the entire species got renamed after him, lol.

Ah, Ripper Roo freaks you out already? Heh. Thanks, but um... You haven't heard him laugh at you yet, I only allow you to be a bit scared of him after THAT happens XD
Oh? Day A7 already? 'Kay then. Um, @Charizard821 ? Question: is your group regrouping with mine yet? Or do I need to stall? Or maybe we're going to Cutthroat Path separately?

Back to Astral, I can totally explain that, but ingame tournaments have only been introduced in Black and White 2 with the Pokemon World Tournament.
Or... Are you talking about the Battle Frontier system? Since Pokemon Emerald?

Spoiler
If talking about the latter, it works like this:
There are 7 (5 in later games) buildings in the Battle Frontier, each with their own set of rules. What doesn't change from building to building is that you need 7 victories to complete a tournament round. If you win 3 consecutive sets of 7 victories, you get to fight the building's champion, or Frontier Brain. These guys are harder than the League Champion himself, and get harder and smarter each time you fight them, sometimes adding tamed Legendaries in their teams.

If talking about the former, the PWT is a tournament hosted in a single building in which you get to fight every Gym Leader and every League Champion up to date, all mixed together. you start with the local ones at first, but the more you win, the more Gym Leaders you unlock. When you got them all, you unlock the Gym Leader Mixed Tournament (they all become as smart as Elite Four Members), and when you beat that 9 times, you get the Master Tournament, in which you get to fight all the Pokemon Champions.

That includes Trainer Red himself, and trust me, he's not easy. But neither are Blue/Green, Cynthia, Alder, Wallace, Lance, or any of the others. You only have to do 3 matches in total, but BY GOSH. WHAT MATCHES. In that mode, each of the three matches is the battle of your life. You never know if your team can counter what they have, or in what order they'll summon their 'Mons, nor which one they'll bring. And the remixes of their Champion Themes increases the drama so much.

Oh, forgot to mention: you fight a lot, so only 3 Pokemons allowed in both Battle Frontier and PWT. Beware of Red's Pikachu.

I really don't care whether evee Is a cat or not, and yes I exaggerated, but it sure feels like a diss when you say '....but shes a cat...' or ' I probably wouldn't be able to change your mind anyway.' I don't know whether you don't understand the implication of both those phrases but whatever. You be you bud

I have decided! Katrina's nemesis shall be a Glameow named Catherine, and she will be epic and noble and then turn nasty upon evolution. (Now that I think about it though, her story is further along in plotting than Kat's....)

Also, there is apparently going to be a new Mystery Dungeon game coming out this year.

@Verser I didn't say that. I said that Eevee was a fennec, and then sent links in case you were interested in knowing why I said that. How was that offensive?

Though there are some phrases that I might not fully grasp the impact it has on people ('cause not my native language), "I won't be able to change that vision anyway" means just what it says. That you have a set vision/opinion on something and that I won't be able to change it. I even said that it was fine. How am I dissing you by stating that you have an opinion that I can't change? It happens for some people, and it's normal, too. We ALL have stuff we're bent on be them small or big things, or at least I've seen that a lot. That's not dissing at all, unless you choose to interpret it that way, in which case I can't help it. "you be you bud" therefore works for you as well. I'm sorry though: the point of all this was not to be offensive, simply to show that I was used to these kind of situations and ready to move on. It would be lying to say that I regret what I said, but I definitely regret the effect those words seem to have. Really wasn't my point.

@Buggiedude2340 yes, Super Mystery Dungeon. Despite the unoriginal name, the hype is real, as the game seem interesting so far.

Glameow? Poor darling. That evolution is the most disappointing thing ever for sure a graceful creature.

the same phrase also implies that im hardheaded, which is an insult and also not true in this case because as I said before, I couldn't care less if evee was a dog or a cat as I was only making a joke. I apologize for misunderstanding can we drop this.

@Verser That's one way to see it. Being hard-headed is not necessarily a bad thing (despite being seen as a negative treat), and here we're talking about opinions on a Pokemon, so that's not much of a big deal. Which I've said since my first reply to the topic.
...soooo, the joke was to say that Eevee was a cat? Buggie said there was a debate about that, so I thought you were actually thinking that Eevee was one.
Also, why didn't you say that it was a joke after my first reply? It would've solved the thing much sooner. Oh well.

Only two more Guardian posts before the flashbacks are over! I'll need to space these out pretty well.

And I can gurantee that even if you think the plot is easy to understand, there's a twist that none of you will see coming no matter how deeply you look into my writing. Not even you @AstralHunter.

Hey, I thought we had moved on. Come on, let's just forget about it. (I would have threatened to lock the DT until after Review Day, but since I'm not the creator of this SB, I'm not allowed to... Besides, the situation seems to have been resolved.)

Thanks for the explanation, @Tortwag, although I don't quite understand the Elite Four... Do the tournaments in the anime work the same way as in the games?

We shall we, @Robusto. We shall see...

@AstralHunter Situation's been resolved, man. We did move on, as far as I'm concerned.

Have you played Pokemon games before? I'm not asking this to be sarcastic or out of astonishment, I'm legitimately asking if you did or not, because it would help you understand my explanation better if you did.
Let me assume that you didn't, so that my explanation can be as detailed and clear as possible.

Spoiler
First off, the Elite Four. If you've indeed never played a Pokemon game before, they're basically the League Champion's personal bodyguards, and the representents of the league itself. After you get all 8 badges, you go to the League Plateau, finish the Victory Road, and upon reaching the plateau, you must defeat them all before fighting against the Champion and eventually get the title for yourself. They're essentially the BEST AI in the game, so even if you're overleveled, make one or two stupid mistakes with your team and they might destroy you.
What I'm trying to say with this is that the tournaments in the Pokemon games are ONLY for the Post Game Quests. You MUST defeat the League and finish the main story to unlock them, and it's better this way anyway, because you'd get destroyed if you tried to challenge them before that. They're extra challenges not relevant to the main story (and they're freakin' awesome, as well as really challenging).

In the Anime... First off, they ad MANY locations that are not in the game, and some of these locations have tournaments/competitions that happen randomly, so no, not like the game. As for the Elite Four, in the anime, you must complete a tournament with every other trainer that has collected 8 badges first. The winner (and the winner only) gets to challenge the Elite Four, and if he beats them all, the master. Which, as you've seen, never happens, which is why the Elite Four in the anime are usually represented as OP.
To be fair Ash should've been the winner in the Diamond & Pearl arc, but they threw this random trainer with a team of legendaries to prevent Ash from doing so, and thus to keep the series going the usual, STUPID way.

Putting that aside, Ash also fought against the Frontier Brains in the anime (after the League tournament), but even that was different, since he could fight them all instantly (with no tournaments before that).

Aaaaaaaand that's about it. Anymore questions?

Done!

@Robusto Really? Interesting. I can already see that the plot is interestingly complicate, but... that kinda sounds threatening. And exciting :D
