Bitter Regret

In Poems

There is a bitter taste
sitting in my mouth,
sitting upon my tongue,
coating my lips.
Tears augment,
fill me whole.
I pretend to be strong,
all the while
I'm crumbling inside.
My heart falls
into my stomach
which is full of butterflies.
These vicious things
pick at my heart,
leave it scabbed,
leave it torn.
Cautious words that imitate
false love
drift into my ears,
they tempt my mind
and kick at my temples.
A shadow lays on my soul,
hide all hope, all light.
My flesh eats at my bones
and starts to creep.
Chaos surrounds an empty whole,
hiding beneath my heart,
behind my stomach,
somewhere deep within,
mocking my pain,
enhancing affliction.
My eyes are forced wide
with miserable awe,
reflect nothing,
empty eyes, dead heart, sharp pains
is all that I am left with.
And that bitter taste
in my mouth lingering,
un-welcoming,
reminding me constantly.

Hey there,

I'm going to be your reviewer today and I have to say I loved this very much. I like the details and the emotion put into this. There are some things I want to point out....such as some of the lines are a little too long in my opinion. There is a way to rewrite them so they're shorter but still hold the same impact. I'm only saying this because it kind interferes with the flow to me when I read this...other than that I didn't see anything grammar or spelling that was wrong.. Very nicely well done and I loved reading it. Keep up the good work and Happy Writing. Sayonara and best of wishes. Hope you get many helpful reviews.
