Moira-The misadventures of a man named Lucifer

by vampricone6783

*This character has an…interesting and cold personality.I’ve got Gacha Club character designs on my wall.Gacha Club is an app where you can make your own characters,FYI.Enjoy this story!

Once upon a time, there was a woman named Moira Higgins. She wasn't just any person. She was a witch and her daughter was a witch, too.

They had lived happily ever after, using their powers and having the tightest bond, but then, she had fallen in love..

...with the sweetest demon in the world. It sounds ironic, given that he was the son of the devil, but this man was wonderful. His name was Noah.

Moira and Noah were dating for some time. They even had a child named Lucifer, giving Vanessa a little brother.

But then, someone else caught her eye.

He was a vampire. His name was Mark. Now,Mark was known to hate witches, because they are what cursed him to be a vampire. But he was always known to make deals and bring people to power.

Moira and Vanessa had colorful hair.Moira had orange hair and Vanessa had purple hair.If a witch had colorful hair, that meant that they were extremely powerful.Moira and Vanessa were the last two witches in the entire world who had colorful hair.

She knew that if they died,if Vanessa didn't have any children and if Vanessa had any children, but they didn't get colorful hair, there would be no more left.Their memory would be forgotten.

She wanted the witch community to remember them,to cower in fear of them and to respect them.

Mark would help with that.He had wealth and he'd bring her name to power.

So,Moira broke up with Noah, took custody of the son and married Mark instead. She told him the deal and he agreed.

But she paid a high price with it.

On the day after her wedding,Mark had killed her and then bitten her, turning her into a vampire, without her permission.

When a witch becomes a vampire,they are no longer a witch.They're a vampire.

If anyone asked her why she was a vampire, she'd make up a lie and tell them that she wanted this, because it was too embarrassing for her to say that she was vulnerable and became a vampire because of her new husband.

It didn't stop there.Mark would drone on and on,talking about how he despised witches.Moira could tell that Vanessa didn't like him and she didn't,either. But,he'd bring their name to power,so they had to put up with that.

One day,Mark told her that he wanted Vanessa to jump out a window and die.

"But if Vanessa dies, there would be no more colorful haired witches left." Moira said.

"We can do something better.Vanessa is a nuisance. We don't need her.Me,you and our son could do so much more." Mark said.

So,Moira agreed and told her daughter.Vanessa didn't agree, but she made her do it.

Now that Vanessa was gone,it was just them.

It appeared Moira wasn't the same person she was with Vanessa.

She made a mistake marrying Mark. When she kissed him in the ceremony, she had lost one of the most important things in the world.

Herself.

She had lost herself to him in a pursuit of power and now...she was something else.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night(whichever one it is in your part of the world),

Hi! I'm here to leave a quick review!!

First Impression: Well this a powerful little piece to read here, especially when read in light of the story of Vanessa. It tells you a pretty compelling tale of how Moira managed to lose pretty much everything dear to her by trying to chase after the wrong thing on search of power and it really resonates so powerfully.

Anyway let's get right to it,

Once upon a time, there was a woman named Moira Higgins. She wasn't just any person. She was a witch and her daughter was a witch, too.

They had lived happily ever after, using their powers and having the tightest bond, but then, she had fallen in love..

...with the sweetest demon in the world. It sounds ironic, given that he was the son of the devil, but this man was wonderful. His name was Noah.

Oooh well I didn't expect to run right into the story of Vanessa's mother here, but this is a happy coincidence. I think it'll be very interesting to explore the story of how she ended up changing ever so much cause it is clear from this that Moira did love her daughter.

Ooooh this is interesting. It introduces a side to this whole story that we definitely didn't see before that is now making this entire situation look a lot different there. I can't wait to see how this plays in because I can tell that this is the root of what ended up changing Moira so much.

Ahh well it seems Moira in a somewhat noble cause got a little bit drunk with power and ended up prioritizing that whole thing over her own family and their wellbeing and so instead it seems she's starting her downfall here.

Well that explains a lot as well. Wow, so it seems Mark here didn't even do any convincing, but rather just did it all completely against her will by breaking the trust that she placed in him. This is quite sad to see how Moira made one wrong choice there and now she's pretty much doomed here.

Well at the very least it seems Vanessa's little plan worked there. I also didn't quite realize earlier that the family actually wanted Vanessa dead, not just gone so this ends up heightening that whole thing even more here. It looks like things have really unfolded there for Moira to be stuck in such a horrible situation, unable to disobey Mark and not only has she lost herself and the daughter she loved so much, she hasn't even managed to achieve the goal she made this wrong choice for as well. That's a powerful moment here to see just how badly it can go when you pursue something with greedy intentions.

Well yeah that about capitalizes that whole situation rather perfectly. It seems its all just gone wrong and Moira in the end can only just live with that horrible realization, unable to even really try and do something about it.

Aaaaand that's it for this one.

Overall: Overall, I think its a really strong piece here. You map the way it all falls apart for Moira so well and you can see how its far too late before she can finally sit down and accept just how badly it all went for her. You manage to make us feel quite a bit of sympathy here for this entire family and it really comes across so powerfully.

As always remember to take what you think was helpful and forget the rest.

Stay Safe
Harry

Hey there vampricone! Happy June!

In honour of the start of Team Tortoise I thought I would pop by for a review of this work.

I like the contrast in the beginning of this - you state that they are happy until Moira falls in love. That's an interesting subversion of expectations: in a more conventional story you might expect the falling in love to be the happy ever after so I like that you've already turned that idea on its head right from the start of this piece.

I definitely didn't realise when reading about Moira's character in other stories that she had three husbands, that definitely makes the other events make more sense. I'd like to see a bit more of her first husband, even through flashbacks or just some simple narration as I think that would really help to flesh out her character. It would also let us know what kind of experiences she's had that make her how she is today.

I'd like to know a bit more about how Mark caught her eye when she was seemingly happy with Noah. These things definitely happen, but you seem to brush over it. Is there no respect to be drawn from being a demon like Noah? If she had another child with him, is there no chance it would also be a witch? I'm sure there's very rational choices being made here but I feel like we skip over them a little.

I also got a bit confused about what children she has. I know Vanessa is presumably from her first marriage. Then Lucifer is from her second and Noah takes custody. So who is the son Mark is talking about?

I also wanted to highlight something that felt a bit weird:

So,Moira agreed and told her daughter.Vanessa didn't agree, but she made her do it.

Did Moira tell her daughter to jump out of a window and die? Of course Vanessa wouldn't agree to that, so it seems strange to call out that she didn't agree.

I'm a little sad Moira hasn't become some kind of vampire witch hybrid, but her story is still a good one. I wonder what Mark's plans are!

Happy Wednesday

Icy

To clear up some things:

List of husbands:

1.Ipos
2.Noah
3.Mark

She only ever had Lucifer. She keeps Lucifer and Vanessa.Noah never gets custody of any children.Mark is talking about Lucifer.

IcyFlame says...

Ah I see! I read it that Noah took custody. Why is Mark so much more accepting of Lucifer than Vanessa as neither are his children?

vampricone6783 says...

Just because he%u2019s a boy.

IcyFlame says...

That might be an interesting point to explain in the story :)

Heyy..

Maybe I%u2019ll work on something. :)

Hey!! Forever here with a review!!

I have to say that I was actually very surprised when I read this story. I actually didn't manage to think the fact that this woman Moira had in total three husbands. This is why I wasn't getting what was happening in the previous story.

Anyway, one thing I would like to suggest is the inclusion of who Moira's firat husband was. A wizard or something? I am a bit interested to know that and what really happened to him after she married tha demon. Those, I guess are two important points which can be very well included in the story.

Hm...sweet demon is indeed a bit ironic but again the person didn't seem to be a very bad person in the previous part, I guess. So, well, this woman too didn't do anything bad by falling in love with him. I wonder if she, by chance hurt her first husband. If so, I am not in complete support of it.

Oh, hunger for fame and power brought about her end... Well, I was not expecting her to be like that judging from the character of Venessa(often children show a lot of their parents) but seems like I was completely wrong. Rectifying my mistake, I think just the total opposite is going to happen. By this time, I guess, they have actually become quite infamous rather than becoming famous. To some extent Moira was a bit simple-minded because I really really don't see how ut would being them fame by telling Venessa to jump out of the window.

The concept of colourful witches seems to be quite an interesting one. Ah I feel sad for the witch community that thought them to be so powerful. I wonder what this vampire is planning to do... Hm... I think that he is actually on a pursuit to convert quite a few witches and wizards to vampires. We will see though.

Keep Writing!!

~Forever
