Mama's Ex-Husband

Verse: Capo Fourth Fret C, Am, Em, D

I have a story I'd like to tell.

I think you'll like this story very well.

The ghost that follows never leaves.

And, the things I see don't line up with the story.

But,

Mama laughs at my tales.

She says I'm too weak to have control

Oh, she doesn't know!

Chorus:

I killed a man.

Buried his body in the ground.

I killed a man.

I figured it all out.

He had hurt me, so I took his heart in my hand.

Mama, don't worry,

I killed your Ex-Husband

Verse:

Oh, he ran.

Fast, but he couldn't keep up.

He tried to hide, but my knife caught him by surprise.

I saw red, the moment you came home with the bruises on your neck.

No words were said, your eyes gave me all I needed.

Chorus:

I killed a man.

Buried his body in the ground.

I killed a man.

I figured it all out.

He had hurt me, so I took his heart in my hand.

Mama, don't worry,

I killed your Ex-Husband

Bridge:

I got your back,

Like mother, like daughter.

Told you,

"I'll break his neck, the next time he touches you again."

I keep my promises, so Mama,

Chorus:

I killed a man.

Buried his body in the ground.

I killed a man.

I figured it all out.

He had hurt me, so I took his heart in my hand.

Mama, don't worry,

I killed your Ex-Husband

Hello there, human! I'm reviewing using the YWS S'more Method today!

Shalt we commence with the scary S’more?

Top Graham Cracker - I thought that this connected to your other stories, but I think that this is a standalone. Either way, it’s a violent song about how a daughter killed her Mom’s ex-husband and how the daughter loves her mother deeply, going through with her promises to the bitter end.

Slightly Burnt Marshmallow - I have no recommendations to make! If you would like to edit this then you may, but I personally don’t see the need.

Chocolate Bar - I love the whole idea of this daughter doing anything for her mother, even going so far as to kill the man that hurt them both. The best part is how the mother doesn’t seem to suspect her daughter of murder, but oh, how wrong is she! She doesn’t know the extent of love the daughter has for her and I really enjoy how the daughter is proud of her actions, shows how she is as a person.

Closing Graham Cracker - Overall, a lovely dark song to read about familial love to end the New Year! I’ve enjoyed reading this work of yours! I wonder if there will be any other stories with these characters or if it just ends here. If there are more stories then I’ll read them, but if it’s just this, then that’s fine too. This works good as a standalone or part of a series.

Happy New Fear’s Eve!

Happy new years indeed!

This song actually is apart of my series. This was written for a character I haven't used yet named Charlie "Splinter". She's a Captain of a allied team to the Delta Unit! Surprisess!

This song presents a shocking narrative with a dark twist, revealing a daughter's violent act of protecting her mother. The lyrical style is straightforward and effective in conveying the disturbing events. The use of simple language and repetitive structure emphasizes the narrator's detached and almost matter-of-fact tone. The contrast between the seemingly innocent opening lines and the violent content creates a disturbing effect. The mother's obliviousness adds a layer of irony and suspense to the lyrics. The imagery of the "ghost that follows" and the narrator's inability to reconcile the story with reality builds psychological tension. The repeated refrain, "I killed a man," serves as a powerful and unsettling hook. The graphic details of the murder—"knife caught him by surprise," "took his heart in my hand"—are deliberately shocking. The bridge reveals a chilling bond between mother and daughter, suggesting a shared history of abuse. The lyrics create a sense of unease and horror through their simplicity. The song's disturbing content is not presented gratuitously but rather serves to explore themes of violence, protection, and dysfunctional family dynamics. The seemingly casual tone of the narrator heightens the unsettling nature of the crime. The song is skillfully structured to build suspense and reveal the shocking truth gradually. The use of the mother's perspective adds a complex moral layer. The song leaves the listener with profound moral questions. The choice of the capo suggests a specific musical arrangement that would enhance the emotional impact of the lyrics. The repeated chorus reinforces the central theme of the song. The song's brevity adds to its power, allowing for maximum impact. The lyrical simplicity serves to amplify the harsh reality of the crime. The overall effect is both disturbing and captivating.

You said everything I had pushed into this song. I couldn't be happier.

Thank you!!

The thing about plummeting downhill at fifty miles an hour on a snack platter - if you realize it's a bad idea when you're halfway down, it's too late.
