Anticipation

In Poetry

Her eyes wander, then lock onto his.
Bright cheeks make them turn their heads,
Trying to focus, trying to concentrate…
Impossible.

Such a great, deep emotion felt inside --
Is it real, or dust in the wind?
Why won’t it go away? Could it be…
Love?

No, they can’t say; it’s too early to know,
But then why is there this connection?
Is there meaning to these trivial things?
Maybe.

Just wait, she thinks to herself,
This flower might just blossom,
The passion might flourish…
Just wait a bit longer.

Wow I really enjoyed this! It's simple yet it works very well.

Its that kind of denying love theme that I like, you have explored it well here.

Won't comment on poetry type stuff though as I am not very good at it ;)

All the best,
Meevs
