Reaching for the Moon

E - Everyone

In Poetry

They told me that the moon

Was to far out of reach

But I've ignored these lies

They've continued to preach

~

Countless times they said

To tame my imagination

However I am hardly satisfied

To have the stars my limitation

~

I will dream of the unheard

Of things crazy and bazaar

For not a human on this earth

Can know what my boundaries are

~

Yet I won't reach for the moon

For as you can clearly see

The moon is really the one

Who is reaching for me

Hey there snowmonkey, Wendy here for a review, the first thing I reacted to open this page was WOW. Those stars and the moon, real fittings as per the title. Reaching for the Moon.

Thus far I read this far too lovely poem was only one spelling mistake. But it might be a false alarm. Because to my knowledge some countries/English rules might be different than what I learnt.

"Was to far out of reach" --> Was too far

So if you were to stick to 'to'. There is no wrong there also.

Secondly, this poem is beyond beautiful.
To tame my imagination, To have the stars my limitation.
It rhymes so well and the meaning behind, to have the stars my limitation, the stars are actually going further and further each passing day. So is your imagination.

For the moon reaching for me. Alluring. To know that.

Tha
nk you for writing such a beautiful poem. Looking forward for more.

I'm glad you enjoyed. Thank you for taking time to write a review. :)

AHHHHH this is beautiful!!!! I love it!

The aesthetic, the beautiful rhyming and the picture! Ahhhhhh so good!

First I'd like to say that the photo definitely added a nice texture to the piece and kinda set the feel for the poem. You should do that more often in your poems, I love it! Especially because it was black and white, it didn't distract me while I was trying to read the poem, it fits in and flowed. :)

This is my favorite part:

Countless times they said

To tame my imagination

However I am hardly satisfied

To have the stars my limitation

******************************

The only slight mistake is a little comma after "however" in this part, and maybe you could add a period at the end of the poem. It kinda felt like you left it hanging like maybe you had more to it because you didn't conclude with a period.

Otherwise, this poem is beautiful and I'd love it if you tagged me in more future posts if ya want! :) You're talented and never forget it!

Thank you so much XD

Heya Snow! Cat here for a review on this amazing poem! I'll start by going stanza-by-stanza, so let's get going!

First stanza and I like The start so far. Your rhyming is pretty good and enjoyable so far too! Already in love with the poem though <3 For some reason though, the "they continue to preach" is weird? Something about them preaching it doesn't work in my weird mind.

Second stanza is beautiful and touches that one little spot in my heart.

Third stanza is pretty nice too, but 'bazaar' feels like it takes a little away from the dreamy elegance I'm getting from the piece. I also think the 'can' begining the last line isn't necessary.

Final stanza is also a beautiful dreamy group I love.

Okay so your flow and rhythm were great, and I loved the rhyming. Line breaks felt pretty natural too.

The only thing it that it almost didn't feel fully put together? There were awesome thoughts and ideas here, but it wasn't quite cohesive as a whole. Still quite a lovely and dreamy piece that I love <3

I want to finish off by saying that I really did enjoy this cute little poem, and I hope this review helps!

Keep writing! =^-^=

Thanks for the suggestions Cat!

No problem! ^-^

Hello! I love this that you've written.

First, the picture threw me off while I was reading because it interrupted the structure of the poem a bit... Also, the lack of any punctuation was very distracting. I kept losing my place in understanding the sentences and their meanings. So, I suggest adding some punctuation.

Other than that, it was great! I love how the reader hears you saying "Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do." Very positive and uplifting.

The final stanza was the most beautiful in my opinion. You turned the negativity of the other people into positivity and confidence. That is where I felt you speaking to me.

I found it interesting that you used the word "preach" but it fits in perfectly. Preaching is constant and I could imagine a number of people constantly telling you to not dream big.

So, yeah. Great job with this! Other than the few things I mentioned, it was wonderful!
