I loved this.
The layout and font really add to the poem, adding to the tone/emphasising certain parts.
Repeating "learn how to" and then switching it out for "why are you hurting me?" in the third verse was really effective.
The poem flows really well too, it never feels clunky or off-rhythm.
My favourite line's the same as fleuralplants' so I'll put my top three:

"an innocence so lost, it never found its way home"
" 'learn how to fly' she said, as the chick fell flightless"
"a chick found her wings / but discovered them broken"

The emotion shared was so vivid, thanks for writing this. Have a nice day :)

Hi! This is going to be a rather short review, but I really enjoyed this poem.
I like the stylistic choices of this poem- the all lowercase and no periods make the poem look very nice.
This poem was very dark, but that's not a bad thing. The topic of the poem is a sensitive subject and I think you handled it beautifully. It really portrays the emotion and feeling of the situation to the reader, even if they have never been in that situation themselves.
My favorite line is

an innocence so lost, it never found its way home
Its an emotional and upsetting line, but I love it.
Anyway, I absolutely adored this poem. Thanks for sharing it!
