tell me you like me
tell me how your skin ignites with fire when it brushes against mine
tell me how you see stars and feel fireworks when our eyes meet
tell me how i'm a ray of sunlight during your dark and depressing days
tell me how your stomach's dormant butterflies awaken at the sound of my voice
tell me how i'm your favorite person and the first figure spotted in a crowd
tell me how you feel safe with me and how i feel like home
tell me you like me as much as i like you

Hello!
I love this poem. I recently posted a poem about a boy i like but didn't know if he likes me. I love how in this poem you show how you feel towards them and how they make you feel probably without even trying to or noticing they do.
This shows you feelings when you fall for someone really well and you just want them to tell you that they like you as much as you like them and you make them feel the same way they make you feel. It's always nice when you can find someone who can make you feel like this and have them also have you as the person they feel like this towards.
Well done! keep writing.
Good afternoon Spunky! WritersUnlock here with a short review.
I loved your poem!! For me the vivid imagery of skin igniting with fire, seeing stars and feeling fireworks, and the awakening of dormant butterflies conveys the intensity and excitement. (I love that imagery, I might have to borrow that for later ;D)
Also (In my opinion) the repetition of the phrase "tell me" really evokes a sense of vulnerability and the deep desire throughout the poem.
Overall, your poem beautifully captures the longing and desire for emotional connection. (It's also so relatable :,D) Anywho, that's all for now have a great day/night!! and keep on writing!
With much love,

Hey Spunky! Always happy to read a romantic poem!

So I love the progression of this poem from the speaker wanting the other person to tell them that they love them in all these poetic, specific ways, and then we learn in the final line the speaker longs for this because that's how they love the subject - the little turn / reveal at the end really makes the message even more sweet and relatable! Very easy to understand, straightforward and heart-catching.
A few suggestions ~
I wonder if "like" is as strong of a word as "love" in this scenario - what's being described certainly sounds like love rather than "like" and I feel like in the title and final line that the word "love" would add some ooomph to the message.
Now as far as your different lines about the metaphors describing feelings - I liked that they almost all had a nature connection, that gave them cohesion and then they also played with different senses (ie. touch, sight, emotions etc.) my little critique is that "stars in your eyes" and "butterflies in your stomach" are some of the most used metaphors for love in the book - so if there are ones you look at to change, I would maybe hone into those and check if maybe something even another level of inventive could be used.
For me I liked that you stuck consistently to minimal punctuation and capitalization because it felt cohesive and hesitant/quiet. The only place I thought a comma could benefit for interpretation / meaning would be the final line placing a comma between "me" and "as" for clarity.
My favorite line was probably this one, "tell me how you feel safe with me, and how i feel like home" - a very sweet way to describe someone you love!
Altogether a solid poem, thanks for sharing!

Hey spunkyspacekitty! Icy here for a quick review
I love the simplistic structure of this, and how you start every line with the same beginning. It makes the poem very easy to read and digest, and for me means the descriptive language at the end of some of the lines is highlighted.
I found this line a little out of place, I think because the comma was the first punctuation you'd introduced in the whole poem. It disrupted the flow for me - especially because then the form and flow of the poem didn't change continually after that.
I also think that whilst each line was beautifully written, the order of them didn't necessarily make sense to me. The first three lines flow well but then the themes of being someone's balm to dark days and feeling like home felt like they were mixed together a bit (I don't know if that makes sense, I just felt like the themes weren't as clearly defined in the last half of the poem as they were in the first).
I really liked this overall though! My favourite line was definitely:
your skin ignites with fire
I love that imagery, and may keep it in my notes for future reference!
Hope this was somewhat helpful, amongst my general rambling!
Icy
thank you very much : )
