The Forest

In Poetry

I see

Crushed leaves and broken branches

A trail of footsteps leads into the woods

.

I follow

The droning endless call

But nothing answers me

.

I stand

Shouting for someone, something

Silence is the only constant

.

I leave

There is no reason to be here

This isn’t what I’m looking for

.

I return

I haven’t found it yet

But I feel better.

I like the pattern you made with having every stanza around the same size and how there are dots separating them. I think you could use some commas at the end of the first lines of each stanza and that would help with how it looks. The thing is that I didn't feel engaged. Your writing didn't take me anywhere and I didn't feel much. I feel like you could have added more and made it more meaningful to the reader. I hope I'm not coming off too mean but I really feel like there could have been more emotion if you spent some more time on it. Keep writing!

I like this. It's short and simple. But it didn't make me feel anything, and isn't that the point of poetry?

I do like how you have the first line of every stanza 2 words and the rest of them a little longer. You kept that pattern.

"The droning endless call" should be edited to (The droning, endless call).

There are places where there are missing commas and periods. Although some people think punctuation isn't as important in poetry, it still needs to be used sometimes, and you are missing it in important places.

"I stand
Shouting for someone, something
Silence is the only constant"

This is my favorite stanza but again, the punctuations.

That's all. Add some more emotion and work on the punctuation and this will get better.

Thanks for the review! I'll definitely work on the emotional aspect!
