Separate

by Veni
Separate from you, your face fades.

I cannot see you clearly through the fog.

I remember the taste on my lips
Of a delicate sweet strawberry kiss
Of your salty blood I carelessly spilt
Of only the name of the one I miss

Your smell hangs like dew from my clothes
Dozing with them held close to my nose.

Still I feel your humbling embrace.
Your hair tangled in my fingertips.
My fingers curled up inside of yours.
Your hands plant firmly on my hips.

Your kind words echo in my stunned skull.
You whisper away the stress and the worries.

But it’s still not the same
As you being here.

Hey Veni,
Myjaspercat here for a review

Ok, wow, its been like a long time since I was last giving a review so I might be a little rusty. Please, I am begging you to hang in there, I promise I will do my best to give you the review that you deserve. Alright let us get started now...

Separate from you, your face fades.

I cannot see you clearly through the fog. Ok, why don't we start here. I like the idea of you (or your narrator - how ever you want to portray it) not being able to see his/her face clearly. However, I do think that the imagery and the whole start of this piece could be just a little bit stronger. As it stands, even though I do like this, it does have an element of the whole clichéness (<- and yes, I just said that).

I remember the taste on my lips
Of a delicate sweet strawberry kiss I really like this, I think that it is a very delicate yet enticing detail. Normally I don't like poems that rhyme but this is very well written.
Of your salty blood I carelessly spilt
Of only the name of the one I miss so the beginning of this stanza was strong and it held me as your reader but these next two lines weren't as strong and I honestly didn't understand them as much. Maybe you could spice this up a bit.

Your smell hangs like dew from my clothes
Dozing with them held close to my nose. uh, I don't really like the transition from the previous sentence unto this one. To me it doesn't make that much sense, however it might to other people so I would wait until you got a couple of other reviews before you decided to do anything with this.

--- ok so I am going to take a small minute here... the above is good, however the below doesn't seem to fit with the rest to me. Any who, minute over ---

Still I feel your humbling embrace.
Your hair tangled in my fingertips.
My fingers curled up inside of yours. don't use the word 'fingers' here since you have already used 'fingertips' right before it. The reasoning behind this is because it just makes your writing look to clumpy and it kind of bogs it down.
Your hands plant shouldn't this be 'planted' firmly on my hips.

Your kind words echo in my stunned skull.
You whisper away the stress and the worries.

But it’s still not the same
As you being here.

I think that's all... this piece is actually very good. I feel like you have a nice sound idea here but it need work. Anyway, I hope I helped some and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Beautiful.
Just a little confusing at times.
It was unique and interesting. it kept my interest the entire time. But the stanzas are a little weird. I'm not sure if you meant for the stanzas to change throughout the poem, but it did. and I really liked the part where you said "Your hair tangled in my fingertips.
My fingers curled up inside of yours.
Your hands plant firmly on my hips." It really drew a picture.

Overall it was just really pretty and powerful.

Great poem! I really liked the rhymes and the wording of it. You didn't match the usual words together, so it felt more unique when you read it. Still, I had some things I was wondering:

1. I didn't quite understand the punctuation. Some stanzas had a period at the end of every line and others had no end punctuation at all. I felt like the poem would flow better if you changed some periods to commas.
This line for instance:

Still I feel your humbling embrace.
Your hair tangled in my fingertips.
My fingers curled up inside of yours.
Your hands plant firmly on my hips.

This one felt a bit choppy when I read it. Maybe this is just something about the style I'm missing, though, because I'm not very good at reviewing poetry.

2. This is just a small nitpick, but when you said, "Your hands plant firmly on my hips", the word plant should be planted. The line before it was in past tense, so it would be best to keep it consistent.

Other than that, I thought the poem was perfect. It had powerful images and great rhymes. I really liked it!
