I shalt not mourn.

In The \'Better\' Poems

That does it.
I'm sick and tired
of this world
and its liars,
who misplace the faith,
leave plates
half empty of the life
they don't deserve.

Oh those hearts that weep for the innocence
lost in the era of decay
, where
the light dims as shadows rest
on the bones of their dismay,
and the voices once human,
never faltering as they fade,
sing a lament for the grievers;
wishing them on their way.

To mourn a death, be it
timely or just unjust,
takes the strength of mind
once used to bond
to clave attachment,
to put behind nostalgia
and remorse.

So, I won't mourn for you.
I won't forget you.
I won't write you a verse
to preserve your spirit
in my thoughts for it hurts
my mind to describe the world
you let me see.

I'll travel blind
in your absence,
I'll unlock the windows at night
in hope,
of safe return of your heart to me,
as I sleep, as you'll sleep,
but never next to me...

I bid you goodnight,
my friend,
my lover,
my only.

Hi guys, I know it's been a while, but I've been upset a bit lately, and I thought this would be the most appropriate dedication to a special someone. I hope you enjoy it, or even just understand it. All comments welcomed.

Wow, this is reallyyy good. I've experienced these feelings when a good friend of mine left and now we hardly have any contact. But you can apply these feelings to anything from someone moving away to death.

Keep it up!

I absolutely love this!! The way you potrayed a confliction of emotions is amazing. I'm not sure if you meant for it to, but this poem potrays a confliction of love and hate which is quite unique. I also like that you don't know where or why this someone disepeared. I alos like the tittle because no matter where the individual went you will always mourn their abscence.

---> did you know how freakin' awesome this poem is?? It's so sad but so good, such a beauty, I love the way that you expressed sad emotions here even retirement which was expressed by the words "I'm so tired.." :] Like. Like. Like... I really really like this one. :] I don't care about the format or rhythms etc that concerns the rules of poetry, I love this. :]
