Thoughts From a Very Confused Teen

PreviousNext

Trying to be strong,

but it all feels all wrong.

Tears of confusion hit the ground,

dripping softly without sound.

Wishing upon a star,

hoping not to go too far.

What part of me is true?

really wish I had a clue.

Positive thoughts in my mind,

are really hard to find.

Inside of me is a ghost town.

Could that be why,

I am always feeling down?

This is so simple yet it speaks wonders. You have no idea how much I can relate to this at this time and to know that, even if it's just this piece and not a person, I'm not completely alone is truly comforting. This is so well written. It flows smoothly with emphasis and good structure, truly a good piece. I'm not sure that I have a negative, which seems like this is pointless without criticism but it's nice to get a review without it too.

Heyaa, squirrel!!

This is Eros here to review your beautiful poem!!

First thing first. The title. The title should be attractive, catchy, and captivating. Moreover, it should be related with the topic. I am very happy to say that the title of your poem fulfils all the above criterias. I like this, really.

Then the second thing which comes is the theme and the idea. The theme of this poem is very unique. This poem is based on how a teen thinks about the confusions, and looses all his/her strength. Then how she/he tries to gather all the lost strength. But still, she/he doesn't feel good. They feel it all wrong. This is what I understood from the very first lines of the poem. Then, the teen gets sad becuase of the confused soul which resides in their body. They try to hard find the solution to the confusion. She/he wishes if she/he had a clue to solve the problem, or the confusion. The inward feeling of the teens is best described in the lines:

Inside of me is a ghost town.

The choice of set of the words is used wisely. I appreciate you for this. I like how you have presented all the thoughts beautifully in a poetic manner. It was a great work. A short and sweet poem with a great meaning. I like your ability to express soooo many things in just a few lines.
One thing, I would like to say, though it is not related with the poem. I like your user name. Squirrels are sooo cute! The profile pic is also as cutee as your user name. xD

I would now, end up my review with these lines:

It was really, really SUPERB.
AWESOME work.
I loved this very much.
Keep writing...
Never cease...
Because we all love to keep reading such awesome works, like this one.
Have a great day/ night!

Hi Squirrel! Cakerissa reporting for Reviewing!

I liked how I think lots of teens can relate to this. It's good to find a topic that people can relate to, then writing about it. You described this really well. I didn't really like the last few lines,

"Inside of me is a ghost town.

Could that be why,

I am always feeling down?"

They just kind of felt out of place. Good job remembering punctuation!

Keep writing!

Hey, Berry here!
First off, I love your username, second, nice poem! I especially love poems that rhyme, and I know it's hard sometimes to do it for long poems so awesome job!

There are some things that I would fix. The poem is great so I'm just being nit-picky but oh well.

One thing is the line
"But it feels all wrong"
I think it would sound just a bit better if you changed it to
"But it all feels wrong."
Just to make it flow a bit better. Not a huge change but consider it.

Next,
"Dripping softly without a sound."
The "a" makes the line a bit awkward because it's like a little hiccup (if that makes sense). Perhaps try "Dripping softly without sound."

"What part of me is true,
really wish I had a clue."
I realize that you have a pattern with the comma period thing, but without the question mark at the end of true, the line has a strange pause. Of course you can keep it in but that's simply my opinion (And me being obnoxiously picky).

"Inside of me is a ghost town.
Could that be why,
I am always feeling down?"
These rhymes sound forced. It's a good metaphor, but kinda strange. Maybe try rhyming "down" and "frown"? Just a thought.

Anyways wonderful poem and I think a lot of people can relate, so good job and keep writing!

Some of the rhyming sounds slightly forced, but overall the poem is easy to relate to and well written. I mean, we all know how much being a teen sucks- except the internet, who hates us, unless you try tumblr. "Wishing upon a star, hoping not to go too far" fits well with the theme and sounds like the sort of thing a fan would tattoo on their wrist (that's a compliment). I think it was well phrased and reminded me of the lyrics from my favorite band. Well done! Good luck writing more! I'm sorry if my review makes me sound like a jerk, I just have an awful sense of humor. It was a good poem and I think you should write more!
