Blood In The Streets

[Verse 1]

I promised you the world,

Promised a revolution, a new solution.

Did you know that I lied?

That I never told you the truth?

You should know before I continue;

I'm the wolf in sheep's clothing,

A lamb sent to bred and deceive.

Trusted and believed,

It was the last thing you should have done.

[Chorus]

Now there's blood in the streets

And mud on your knees

A revolution, a new solution;

A country brought to its knees

and slammed into the ground

Do you trust me now?

[Verse 2]

It's your greatest moments

And all your failures

Combined as one.

I lied, told you I could help;

It's not my fault you believed the words I said.

I told you what would happen,

Warned you that I'd be here when all else falls.

Trust me, this was our twisted decision;

Name me when the revolution calls.

[Verse 3]

I showed you the vision,

Let you make all the calls

And bent your words to suit my cause.

I never said I told the truth

But I never told you I lied;

I was a lamb sent to twist and deceive.

Trusted and believed, that was my goal.

Trust me, this was our twisted decision;

Name me when the revolution calls.

[Chorus]

Now there's blood in the streets

And mud on your knees

A revolution, a new solution;

A country brought to its knees

and slammed into the ground

Do you trust me now?

[Verse 4]

This was all an illusion,

A vision made to send you off course

This was all your delusion,

A vision sent to throw you off balance

You called and I heard you voice

Echoing in the darkness beyond your stars

And I came with blood and death on my hands

Trust me, this was our twisted decision;

Name me when the revolution calls.

[Chorus]

Now there's blood in the streets

And mud on your knees

A revolution, a new solution;

A country brought to its knees

and slammed into the ground

You should trust me now

[Verse 5]

And It's your greatest moments,

all your biggest mistakes

Combined as one

Brought before you, a feather and a set of scales;

Is your heart lighter?

Or should I cast you down?

The choice is yours; make it now.

Trust me, this was our twisted decision;

Name me when the revolution calls.

This was actually interesting. I dont read much lyrics or poetry. But I suppose this grabbed me more-so then most considering it's either right up my alley or rather along my radar anyways.

You have talent here, I'm not much for grammar, or anything that really spells "editing" so don't expect that from me. I'm told my grammar isn't exactly up to par either. I only noticed a misspelling really.

I promised you the world,

Promised a revolution, a new solution.

Did you now that I lied?

Should be " Did you know that I lied?" I'm guessing.

Gotta say this reads along my lines truly once more. Not sure how to rate these things but eh 4 out of 5 stars I would say, I say 4 because I figure this could have been even more spectacular then it was. Maybe so by adding more misery and pain by leaving an extra verse or bit with the outcome of this poor deluded fool who fell for whatever.

Or leave it as it is. Up to you.
