I really liked this. It's pretty much been said already but the description is really good. Very natural and easy to visualize.

This is entirely my own style, so ignore it if you please, but I would switch the last question to some kind of statement. Rhetorical questions don't do anything for me. (Of course, it works as is as well.)

Lovely writing.

I love the imagery in this short piece! It achieves the mysterious, magical effect I'm sure you wanted this story to have. I also love how it appeared like the forest played tricks with the narrator's mind. I think that the whole "things are more than what they seem" theme fits the work perfectly.

I really wish you had expanded this writing further, though. So many more ideas can be developed out of it. :) Keep up the good work!

Really cool! Very nicely told and I see you have a gift to take from a painting and make it into a story. Your story telling is flawless only this had me wincing

She is a person of this land,
. For this kind of story using "person" doesn't seem right to me. Maybe "Creature"?

I love her dearly, but I can’t live with her for a day without feeling my whole life is wasting away.
