Heartless Love

In Poems

If love does exist,
Why does it end up in tears?
Why does our journey need to be through a dark mist,
To get over all our fears?

Can nobody tell me why,
Why is love, being loved, trying to love so complicated?
Sometimes it ends up in lies,
And somehow we end up devastated.

We can’t understand it all,
And that’s the beauty of love.
But, eventually we fall,
With nothing to catch us from above.

Love has its way around,
It makes us both happy and sad.
Sometimes it has us bound,
Between what’s good and bad.

But even though it’s just for the moment,
We want it more than ever.
Even if it creates a dent ,
We just want it to be forever.

Love is beautiful in many ways,
But love does have its dark sides,
Its wound won’t heal over a few days,
It’ll take time for us to let it slide.

Love does hurt and it pains,
But it’s not worthless.
It might have you bound in chains,
But it’s not heartless.

It will teach you to stand on your own,
And strengthen your bones,
You’ll see how much you’ve grown,
And some day, love, will be your corner stone.

Contradicting title. :) Hey Rose, I like this poem it's sweet and realistic. We're bond by chains of love, I like that. It's wistful as well, a story that's written down in history about love.

If you don't get what I'm trying to say, I don't either. ;p ^o^

That's a good question. Why is love so complicated?

Thank you for the very confusing review :P

This poem was so clear and really resonated with how i feel towards love. I really liked your second last paragraph, because you have illustrated love and how it captivates you. Your rhyming was awesome and was good to see you didn't use generic words when rhyming. Your writing is very nice and kept me interested with each line. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for the review glad I kept you interested! :P

I love this poem, the rhyme was on the dot, the slow was very good though the first two stanzas had extremely long lines in them it was still very good, and the point of the poem was very clearly defined for the audience. I absolutely loved that last stanza: "And some day, love, will be your corner stone." that was just beautiful right there. I loved the feeling that went with it and just very riveting and awe-inspiring. Don't waste your talent, keep writing!

This is a great poem, I like the fact that you made it rhyme really well. I feel this is what love is really like. Your vocabulary is really good and I feel you didn't have to search for words that rhymed I feel that it just came naturally.
overall this is a great poem, i am looking forward to reading more off your work, Gothgirl

Thank you so much for the compliment :D

really good :) i love this... It gives out good feeling and expression and explains how much people are really feeling! Sends out good messages to all those that have loved. I LOVE THE STRUCTURE AND HOW THIS IS WRITTEN! ITS EXCELLENT! I would really like to read more of your work because i think that your work is great. I like the punctuation and how you have used your words. I have no critizism, which is good! Its a fantastic poem and i love the way that you have rhymed those excellent words! I love the way you have wrote this with meaning, well it seems like you have anyway! I feel like you have vely strong, emotional feelings about this topic, i love that! I agree with the words that you have used to describe some things. WELL DONE! :) :) xxxxxxx

Thank you so much for the review.
And I'm glad that I have no mistakes. :P :D

Wow! Beautiful poem!
I just have to point out one thing. I had the exact same thing pointed out to me, and it didn't make sense at first, but in time, it kinda will. I liked my style too. :)
Its just to perhaps take out the capitals of each beginning sentence if it is continued from the last one.
So, for example,
'Love does hurt and it pains,
(b)ut it's not worthless.'
Other than that, I think you did excellent. Though I'm a terrible reviewer, hopefully this helped! I genuinely look forward to reading more of your things!

Wow!!
That's really good. i loved how it starts out as hopeless and heart-breaking and then you kind of prove how its not all bad and you'll get through it.

I liked the last part where it's like

"It will teach you to stand on your own,
And strengthen your bones,
You’ll see how much you’ve grown,
And some day, love, will be your corner stone."

It inspired me, love it! :D

I'm glad I inspired you. :D
