An eggcellently good day to you! I have come here for Team Egg so let’s see what you have for us now!

I have the feeling that my greeting is too cheerful for the subject matter. Sorry @.,@

At first I thought these might be comments people receive for their mental illnesses “oh that’s Jeri she has anxiety, isn’t that funny/isn’t she too much?” But I guess it is more an internal examination, maybe even self-hatred? Like the voice running in your head trying to make everything ridiculous because that is better than being sincere? Or maybe I am interpreting too much (or too little) into this…

I feel like the first part of the poem reflects a more simplistic view, maybe after all the view the other people have. What it looks like from the outside. While the latter part is trying to explain more deeply just how difficult life can be.

But all has this layer of irony, that we can’t seem to shake ☹

Oh my gosh another enemy

THANK YOU FOR THE FEEDBACK!!

Hi NotReallyHuman, thank you for sharing your eggselent work - I'm here with an egg-inspired review for you today!

The Shell: A Round Interpretation - Overall Thoughts

This is a poem I can relate to heavily. As someone who is also autistic, has tics and has experienced anxiety, I am familiar with the frustrations you have presented. You've highlighted a lot of things that people may say about someone with your diagnosis -- lazy, dramatic -- and also the things you experience yourself -- not understanding it, feeling like you're on display, wanting to curl up and die -- and it makes the poem so impactful. It's a great work that highlights real-life issues and tackles the gap between internal neurodivergent struggles nd how the outside world dismisses them.

The Yolk: The Best Bits

The two part structure works like a mirror, and this is a really nice touch. You have set up the superficial, external labels that the public might see about your disorders in the first half and then you crack open your internal anguish in the second half. It gives the piece a powerful emotional impact.

The vernacular vocabularly you use here is a nice touch:
Because wdym it's not normal

To want to curl up in a hole and die?

Using text slang like 'wdym' highlights the modern isolation of these conditions, showing how people with these disorders often find solace online, but also perhaps shows a struggle with communication.

The Egg Whites: Time to Stir - Suggestions

I think this might be a typo, and you meant to say 'stared'

And I get started at anyways

Thank you for the review, it means a lot!
