"Why does she always forget us?"
The small boy cries.
"Because we are only dreams,"
the lonely girl replies.
"We are always to be forgotten,
Whether it's a scariest dream about her demise,
Or the most wonderful fantasy about perfectly blue skies.
Never will she remember the friends she made up,
Then left to die."

I've had a lot of dreams like that, where I'd have something so amazing or something so tragic and when I woke up, I'd forget it almost entirely. For that, and numerous other reasons, this is an awesome poem, NightOwl, and I like how it expresses the sentiment of abandoned dreams. This personification you incorporate is beautiful, displaying these two characters, though conceived by their dreamer in a dream, as feeling, moving, breathing on their own. The flow of the poem is beautiful, and the way its organized and created in such a style is fantastic. Excellent job on your usage of rhythm and meter, and the ideas behind the poem. There's a lot of amazing, strange, and sometimes crazy dreams I wish I could remember, and this poem, to me, represents that bridge between the dreamer, who has forgotten, and the dreams, who cannot forget lest they are forgotten. What a beautiful, and somewhat sad, poem, NightOwl - great job!

I love this poem, it was simply amazing. It was sad and sweet at the exact same time, I think it was very unique!!!!!!!!! It has so many different meanings to it. I can't wait to read more of your work and hope to read more. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!!!
This comment made me smile >.< Thanks! You just made my day.
First of all let me say that this poem is amazing. I really like the first sentence where you wrote "Why does she always forget us?" because it says a lot of things like a mother forgetting her children or maybe a dream disappearing. I really like the story because to me it is saying that I had a dream and it was wonderful then when I wake up and forget all about my dream so I leave my made up friends in my dream and I am leaving them to die. It is really an awesome and I really loved it.
Keep on writing!!!

You actually got the idea pretty much correct. I always wake up having a warm feeling, but never really remembering why. I have the worst memory ever xD
Thank you so much!
Wow, this is very emotionally stimulating! The way it's presented adds to the overall feel to the poem as well, I'm glad you thought about that. I really like the air of mystery about the characters even though it's a short poem. This is very well done, I hope you carry on writing!
Thanks!
This is so cute (although it is also a bit sorrowful). And I do mean that in the very best way! I have to admit that I've never once thought about dreams like this...it is very unique to think about the people on the other end. It is common for people to write about dreams and to talk about wanting to fall asleep again after they wake up from a really good dream, but it is not common to think about the creatures or people that were thought up not wanting you to wake up either. Props to you for taking a rather common theme and making it distinctive and new. I really enjoy how you said "Never will she remember" instead of "She will never remember." It is very simple things like this that can completely change the rhythm of a poem! This flows very nicely. I can't think of a single thing that you could have done differently
