Heyy...Alwaysea here,The title “You Didn’t Know” immediately drew me in. I loved how you managed to capture the essence of a whole life of learning in just a single line. It is not easy to do that, and I always admire when a poem truly connects with its title.
Coming to the poem, I must say it felt like a messenger of life. You showed so well how learning is a never-ending process—something that happens at every phase, every day, and every moment. From the moment we are born, we start learning. Even as newborns, we learn to face the light after coming out of the darkness of the womb. That itself is a powerful reminder of how much we are capable of, yet in our materialistic lives, we often forget the depth of these first lessons.
Your poem beautifully brought out the truth that life is always about learning. Whether we want to or not, we are constantly learning, because survival itself demands it. That message gave me a lot of hope as a reader, reminding me that every experience has something to teach us.
Overall, it was a wonderful poem—meaningful, inspiring, and filled with truth. Thank you for writing it and sharing such a perspective. If you have time, I would love for you to read some of my works as well. Wishing you a great day ahead, and keep rocking! 😎
Hello! Its CATS here to leave a review! I was scrolling through the Green Room to find something I could help with by leaving my opinion. Speaking of that, going to use my own method, the CATS Opinion! Let's DIVE IN!
FLASH OF GLOWING EYES
I can see that the title is reflected in each of the lines. I can see the end is always the same, except for maybe the end. This looks like a relatable and interesting read! Moving on to reading it.
SOFT FUR
My cat really loved the repetition. The line that is her favorite is,
This really makes sense. The more you grow, the more you learn! The more you learn, the more experienced you are! This part is done really well! I agree with my cat on this one.
WARM PURR
The parts that I loved and were done really well. First, to start off, the repetition really sinks into the reader and the words. The last line really stands out because of it, because it is different and sets the reader's attention on it, the memory lingering long after he or she is done reading. I love the build up from not being able to say a word, to knowing how to write and publish books! The experience through that is really relatable and honest.
SHARP CLAWS
Parts that my cat thinks need improvement or suggestions perhaps. She doesn't know if you added the first line a period on purpose. Either way, a comma or period would work, but my judgmental cat would prefer a comma, again, that is just her own preference. The period works well too.
Maybe make the end sink more into the reader. I don't know how, but I feel like exploring would make this more better! HISSSS!!! Sorry, kitty...forgot this is your part.
CONCLUDING MEOW
Overall this poem really relates to our learning experience and I really loved the repetition, it's so unique when a whole poem is written like this, because the people on YWS can relate!
Happy EVERYTHING!!!
Love,
~CATS
