This was another creative writing assignment. Again, it's been graded, but I wanted to share.
When you feel the urge to worry,
Don’t believe there’s not a hand
To take and help you when your sight goes blurry.
Because if you think to ask, someone will help you take a stand.
You don’t have to fight the battle alone
With nothing but your bare fists.
Somebody does care about you and will protect you
And make sure to cover you from the flinging stones
Of your doubts, your fears, your what-ifs
Because you are beautiful, strong, and can’t be broken through.
That monster who haunts your dreams may be very real.
They hurt you in ways no one can comprehend
And banish your self-worth to the dark until you think there’s nothing left to feel.
You can master and harness the beast who destroyed your life and forced you to descend
Into the closet of your mind, for this is our life and you control it.
Don’t forget the people who love you will stand by when you’re ready to talk.
When you’re ready to take the reins and steer towards the light, they’ll be there.
You’re not alone and you’ll never have to be
And all along the journey you can think of ways to knock
Down the one who left you broken and ultimately rise again.
I agree with ladcat13, the poem IS very inspiring. It made me feel happy about myself when I read it. I also like how it talks about the choice you make about either getting out of whatever rut you're in or to stay there in your own little pit of despair. Very well done!

(I also like some of the word choices you used. Never would have thought of some of those!)
Very inspiring. I like how it portrays not only hope and defiance, but a gentle choice. Like a "we're ready when you are" attitude. After all, a victim won't have a better situation until they stand up for themselves. I love the message of hope that this poem conveys. However, (too bad that word has to show up) I think the rhyme scheme could use some work. Each stanza is fine until just about the middle, then the rhyme takes on a weird pattern and the rhythm is interrupted significantly. Now that the assignment is in and graded, try playing with it a little. Poetry is like that; you have to tweak it a lot, and very gently, until you get it just right.
Or as close to just right as it can be :/
This is really beautiful.
