Greetings! This is now officially a review bomb!
First up, I would like to say that, although I expect the letters in brackets in the first and last verses make perfect sense to you, I haven't the faintest idea what they mean. Would you care to explain?
Apart from this quirk, the whole piece was quite enjoyable. I like the fact that it is structured; this is something I always like in poetry.
The ending is simply strange, sounding deeply philosophical and containing mystical words. I like that!
Hope this helps,
Take That You Fiend!
Hey its Elizabeth1!

I really enjoyed this poem a lot! It includes so much strong imagery that really helps express the meaning of the poem so well. Your description in this poem is so rich, I really enjoyed this poem a lot. It really expresses how the small things in life make it worth living.
"(will you
fly on wafts of lavender
across the skies
to perhaps the crystalline darkness?)"
I think you you should take out the parenthesis.
Words such as "grows" could be changed to "emerges" or "surfaces". "pretty" can be changed to a different word that will add more strong imagery.
Other then that, this poem is great!
This is an ethereal, magical and deeply insightful poem. It communicates some of the things that truly make life worth living for me (especially the bit about rainwater in cupped hands, and the ephemereal bliss) and that makes it special and meaningful to who I am as a person.
I think you should go through it and work out the parts that feel awkward for you by following your instincts... perhaps 'uninhabited crevices' could be changed to something more flowing, like unfilled. Perhaps the "just" in "just let go of the garden vines" could be done away with. Perhaps the beautiful little bit about flying wafts of lavander could be extended to fit in with the rest of the poem more.
But overall, this poem is very much worth reading and completely wonderful and every way.
Peace,
-Krio
Hi there.
I really love some of the images you've conjured here. "tattoo its way through your skin/ a permanent scar in the making" is my favorite part. I love the idea and the words you used to express it.
That being said, I do have a few things that might improve this.
"Have you seen the way / moss grows between the stones"
"grows" could be a stronger word. What if you said "Have you seen the way / the moss emerges from the stones"? I think that would create a stronger image and a stronger beginning to your poem.
Omit the "yet" in the first stanza. It doesn't do anything special for the poem. It also confuses me a little. If you took it out, everything would be fine and dandy.
In the second stanza, put a comma after "hands" to make the sentence clearer.
"Hold onto this ephemeral bliss
as you wonder if it will
tattoo its way through your skin"
I have an issue with the second line. It slows the pace and it would be a more effective and stronger image if you said: "Hold on to this ephemeral bliss / as it tattoos its way through your skin." If you say it is doing it, it's much more potent than just wondering about it.
I also don't like the word "ephemeral" here. I don't know why. It almost feels like you're trying to be too fancy here compared to your other words (also, take this advice with a grain of salt. I've never liked that word.)
I'd get rid of the parenthesis around that stanza. It doesn't feel right.
"pretty picture" Among all your lovely images, you chose to use "pretty"? But there are so many other WORDS.
Make the break in the line after miles. I'm a big fan of enjambment, don't get me wrong, but this enjambment isn't cutting it for me.
I like the idea of the poem as a whole. You have lovely images. Keep writing. I hope this review was useful to you.
