Hey y'all! This is a brand new novel that I've written called Seven Minutes Left. This excerpt is something that I'm brainstorming for the back page so let me know if you'd read it based on the back and if you have any notes please share! Keep in mind that the reader is supposed to know that she'd died but Maddie doesn't, so the back shouldn't spoil anything.
Moments after death, the human brain stays on for seven minutes before shutting off. For seven minutes, it recounts its best memories from that human's life.
Maddie's seven minutes are more complicated than one may assume. She's reliving her worst memories that are more a trap than an escape from death.
One problem: she has no idea that she died.
This coming-of-age novel is real, emotionally wiring, and unfolds key memories form Maddie's life that built of who she was and who she'll remember herself as.
What would your seven minutes look like?

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
I'd definitely read this. It kind of reminds me of 'they both die at the end', but still a very unique concept. I look forward to reading the rest the works you published, I'd love to see where you'll take this : )
I love that book! I definitely did love that concept and that may have added to my idea of this hahaha.
Hello there, human! I'm reviewing using the YWS S'more Method today!
Shalt we commence with the ghastly S’more?
Top Graham Cracker - This is an excerpt that summarizes what will happen to Maddie, but does not say too much. She has seven minutes left to live and yet, she doesn’t even know that she is dead.
Slightly Burnt Marshmallow - For a back excerpt, I feel like this is pretty good. I think if you wanted you could add more but again, this is supposed to not spoil anything, so I think this is fine. If you wanted to you could also put chapter one here as well.
Chocolate Bar - I like how you wrap up what the story is going to be about in a way that feels cohesive (idk if that made sense). I think that my favorite lines are talking about how her seven minutes are more complicated than anyone else’s, this leads to the idea that Maddie has experienced things that not many people have experienced.
Closing Graham Cracker - Overall, a quite fitting excerpt to this suspenseful story. I’ll be sure to read the other chapters to be more updated on the lore. I’ve enjoyed reading this and…
I wish you a fabulous day/night! :>
I like the concept, it's a very thought provoking idea and if done right can be a really, really powerful story forcing the reader to face their own choices and decisions. I feel the last line is a little unneeded, I always prefer to say a little less and instead let the reader come to their own conclusions. I think the line above the last could also fit a bit more with the rest of the excerpt. Overall a good concept and I look forward to reading the story and seeing how it unfolds.

This is an interesting concept, and definitely something that I'd be interested in reading!
I'm glad it sounds interesting! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the rest of my book as well
