Chapter 11: Alex
The moment Cal says the word dangerous, the final thread in my composure snaps.
"Dangerous for who, Cal?" I demand, my whisper sharp enough to cut. I pull against his grip, but he doesn't let go. His fingers are trembling against my skin, a sharp contrast to his usual calm.
"For you," He chokes out. His bright hazel eyes are dark now and wide with a panic that makes him look hollowed out. "Alex please, just sit down. If you walk into that house, if you talk to him..."
"To your dad?" I counter, finally piecing together fragments I didn't know I possessed. "What does your dad have to do with my mother? Why are you so afraid of him?"
Cal looks around the library, desperate, terrified that someone will walk in and hear our conversation. He pulls me closer, dropping his voice until I can barely hear it. "Because he's the one that did it, Alex."

Hello there, human! I'm reviewing using the YWS S'more Method today!
Shalt we commence with the jinxed S’more?
Top Graham Cracker - Alex can’t take Cal being all protective and still not telling her anything, but her heart grows cold when he tells her that his Dad has everything to do with her Mom’s disappearance.
Slightly Burnt Marshmallow - I think maybe this could be put together with chapter ten, but those are just my thoughts.
Chocolate Bar - I like that Alex is now sort of demanding answers from Cal, because she doesn’t like that he’s not being honest with her about what happened to her Mom. It only makes sense that she’d act like this.
Closing Graham Cracker - Overall, a lovely chapter to this story. I have enjoyed reading this and I will be certain to read any new chapters. Now…
I wish you a delightful day/night! ^v^
Can't wait for more! You did a really good job with all the suspense. Seriously, your writing is rly good.
Aww, Thank you!
This is the shortest chapter yet. I think it might well have come at the end of chapter 10. They are really dragging this out, but I do understand why. The cliffhanger at the end is less impactful since we know his dad was involved before this, so maybe a longer chapter could work here also. But I am glad poor Alex is finally learning what happened to her mom. I am looking forward to the next chapter to be released
Is this it or are you writing more? The other chapters are longer than this so I just wanted to know.
I'm writing more, promise!
