Remember the wonders of being a child,
back when the nights were spooky and the days were wild?
When a tickling finger left you beguiled,
and gray old objects clad in dust quickly restyled?
~
There in the corner, a dirty cardboard case,
but look again, a shuttle ready to travel through space!
Or an entity of speed for winning a race,
Anything old can become an imaginary place!
~
Backyards turned to lands of fantasies,
Woods of mystery were formed by scattered trees!
Plains of rolling hills or the Seven Seas?
Feeling the breath of a dragon in a summer breeze!
~
The creak in the night was something to dread,
And an unknown beast was waiting underneath your bed!
Your door cracks open, you certainly are dead,
but it is your mother giving you a kiss on the head.
~
Growing out is bad, although growing up is not,
When you keep your kid alive, you will learn an awful lot.
And being creative is never all for naught,
as long as you remember what your inner kid taught.

I like this poem! It truly convey the feeling of what childhood is all about. I especially like the last two lines: "And being creative is never all for naught,as long as you remember what your inner kid taught." I love them!

Just a few things: In the first line of the second stanza, you mean CARDBOARD, don't you?
And in the first stanza, if you wrote "Remember the WONDERS of being a child " instead of WONDER, it would have a better impression. Just my opinion
My favourite stanza is the third one. i find it exciting and funny.
Good job! Keep it up!

Hi.
I couldn't say I love this but still, I like it because my childhood were not as great as this. Pity on me. Anyways, I could imagine what was it like, though. You gave some good description and I was addicted to this sentence :
(And being creative is never all for naught, as long as you remember what your inner kid taught.)
I love it!
Anyway, did you left 'is' at this sentence?
(There in the corner (is) a dirty carboard case,)
Keep writing and I'm sorry if I made any mistake or mistakes. I hope this helped.
I'm glad you liked this poem, and thank you very much for pointing out the typo, I forgot to add in a coma.
No problem!
Hello! Retro here to do a little review!!
Okay I'll do some nitpicks then talk about what I liked okay?
Right my main issue here is the rhyme. Because some of them are fantastic and this some I hate. The problem with rhyme is that it is very difficult to get right due to its technical nature and how modern language has Develloped. I.e. "A tickling finger left you all smiles". No one would say that. It feels forced and for me personally it jars the poem because it's so unnatural that it makes it fit even less! There a few lines like this and I'm just like ouch. What I would do is sit down and read the poem aloud and every time you doubt what it sounds like in a natural way have a look at said line and see if you can do a rework. For example the line I quoted above could become "when tickling fingers failed to beguile"...okay bad example but do you see what I mean? The sentence is more flowing and natural...
That is my only issue though. I absolutely love the poem. For me the crux of a poem is the ending. The ending must encompass the poem and hit home with a hard hitting thing and yours does so perfectly. Your last stanza is beautiful and fantastic and elightening and well written. Bravo. Seriously. But I just think you need to tweak some other lines so the rest of the poem matches up to that last stanza!!
Keep up the good work,
Here if you need me!

I am very glad you liked this poem, and I did leave a little edit for the third line in the first stanza, beguiled is a much better rhyme than all smiled and I'd like to thank you for helping me improve a weaker part in my poem!
Hello! My name is Cookie64 and I will be reviewing.
Ahh! I Remember those days when I was a little kid. You brought those memories back with mind blowing, familiar situations, especially that monster. Childhood is one of those things that people never find boring or sad. It is the time of youth and a time to be glad. I am especially thankful for the part where you said that growing up was not bad, because I really miss my childhood and find it sort of hard to continue in a path that strays away from it. But I know I will find joy in all I do and everywhere I go. Thank you for reassuring me that this is true.

Thank you for your kind words! I am extremely glad you were able to find some peace and answers in my poem and I hope dearly you find joy wherever you go!
Just dropping by with a review.
This pome was amazing, filled with a lot of rhythms and staying right on point with the title. I am impressed by how you touched my inner child. It even made me a smile a bit, dragging me back into my blossoming field of childhood memories. Just like how it is suppose to when reading well written pomes such as this one.
Though, as I was reading I caught a few lines that did not make sense to me at all. For instance, this one.
"When the a tickling finger left you all smiled,"
Instead of inserting an a where it does not belong. I would rephrase this as...
When a tickling of a finger left you all smiled,
I think that would make a lot more sense and does not allow the reader to pause in confused question. Other then that, I have no other thing to tell you to improve. stay cool and keep writing, hope to see more from you in the future.
Thanks for the review! I'm glad it brought you back to childhood memories, and double thanks for pointing out the typo, I'll be sure to fix it ASAP!
