E - Everyone

A Backwards World

by Holysocks

What would happen if everything on our earth, was the complete opposite then it is now?

If people ignored the ones they new, and laughed with those they didn't.

What if the sun didn't shine down on the earth, and the earth shown down on the sun?

What would happen if everyone was afraid to live, and could hardly wait to die?

Would we be happy if we longed to be sad? Would the world still go round?

What would our parents teach us? To, not tie our shoes?

What do you think would happen if they let criminals free, and locked the innocent away? So much for over populating, eh?

I wonder what we'd do for fun?

What would happen if no one slept, ate, sang, danced or even cared? What then? Well my dear friend, the world would be a “better” place.

If everything was completely opposite, the world would be perfect. I wouldn't be happy with who I am, and I wouldn't know who I was meant to be. I people laugh with those ho they didn't know, the world would be a better place, or maybe a worse place because there would never be strangers, so no one would know what it was like to really trust someone. If the earth shown down on the sun, then the sun would be dark and we wouldn't be able to see. If everyone could hardly wait to die, there wouldn't be any point in life, so people would take their own. if we longed to be sad, we would be, because in a world opposite of ours, we would get everything we wanted. The world would go round, but it would spin the other direction. Our parents wouldn't teach us anything, because in a backwards world, they wouldn't care about us. If they let criminals free, they would kill and regard it as favors because everyone couldn't wait to die. We couldnt do anything for fun, because no one would want to have fun.If no one danced, then i understand why people want to die.

Hello there! Here to review your piece of work for this fine review day!

This actually really interested me! It reminds me of something that I have just written on here. You should check it out!

I love the thought of everything being reversed & I genuinely haven't ever thought of the world this way before. It definitely made me think about the questions you are asking!

The only critique I have is a few spelling mistakes but I think someone down below has already pointed them out to you.

Good luck and I look forward to reading some more of your work soon!

HAPPY REVIEW DAY!

Olive <3

Interesting but at the same time it is more of a philosophical question which I can appreciate but at the same time I prefer reading novels. As the person below mentioned there are a couple grammatical mistakes which could and should be cleared up but other than that your thought is well written. In all honesty I love philosophical discussions and am used to hearing contemplation of unusual questions such as this so I was not bored in any sense of the word while reading it but as I previously mentioned I am in the mood for a good novel at the moment. Great job!

Hiya Holysocks, here to review!

So what I liked about this is it's quite an interesting idea. I've sort of heard something like this before, but you used some original examples to show this. It was pretty thought-provoking to read. Now, because I'm not really sure what form this is in, I'm not really sure what I want to say in terms of improvement.

I guess firstly you could use a bit more imagery, and make it slightly more poetic. That;s one route you could go now. Perhaps adding some more emotive and imaginative language would help the reader picture this world better. You've got some good things so far, but I want to see more. What would the world look like? What are the people like? Or maybe not the people? (hypothetically of course)

I also have a few nit-picks:

What would happen if everything on our earth, was the complete opposite then than it is now?

If people ignored the ones they knew, and laughed with those they didn't.

What if the sun didn't shine down on the earth, and the earth shown shone down on the sun?

Overall, as mentioned before, this piece was definitely unique. I'd say just maybe build it up a bit with some more imagery and really make it your own. Sorry, I haven't had much to say in this review D: PM me with questions or if you'd like another review! (hopefully I won't be so vague next time)

Keep Writing!

Hey Xanthe here,

Woah! My mind is blown. Like it literary just exploded. I am writing this as a ghost now XD

This was... Very unique. It is not something you usually think or read about. I was reading this actually imagining it all and i was very scared at the thought of everything being the ooposite XD (I'm not joking). It really did get you thinking about it and made you focus on the topic. I thought of my parents telling me not to tie my shoelaces and nearly died XD im too clumsy already lol. It put a lot of questions in my head about it.

I love the way you wrote this. It is overall unique and amazing. Both of these words are understatements XD

One question though. Are you going to write more to this? It could actually maybe make a good novel if you did it right. I've actually got quite a few ideas in my head right now for a novel based from this. (Don't worry I won't use any of them) but I would like to see more stuff like this. :)

Thanks by the way for telling me you posted this :). I can offically say this is the weirdest thing ive ever read :P

This was definitely something to be categorized as "Other."

It isn't bad; on the contrary, it's actually really good.

The problem for me is that I am so easy to confuse. I had to think about this piece for a very long time, due to the fact that you're right; this is very backwards, indeed.

Okay, so how do I contribute to a piece that I couldn't write myself? This is a very outside-the-box piece, so I would work on adding other things, like a protagonist or setting, that are so outside-of-the-box that they're actually inside-the-box.

This is not making any sense. So I'll leave before I embarrass myself further.

Point is, I really like this piece, and I wish I would see more like them. Maybe you could write a story about a 'real' backwards-world place, with 'real' backwards people? That would be very interesting, and definitely worth reading.

I like this "Other" very much. I will also read more of your pieces!

With Love & Somewhat Befuddlement,

Paige

Thank you very much Paige! I might just write a story about a backwards world. :-P

Yay! That would make my day! It could be dystopian, and there should be a bit of a backwards romance, that'd be interesting! Haha! Well, I'll tell you one thing; you make that story however you want and I'll read it!

With Love,

Paige
