Ok, I wrote this for a character in my novel, Matt, to sing(he's in a band). Here's the story behind it: he started writing it for his girlfriend, then switched it to writing about his mom. That's why it kind of sounds like a love song. Sorry about that. Anyway, it's about his mom, who died in a car accident a year(i think) before the story takes place.
Verse 1:
Sucked away to what I don't know
Lost myself in the thrum of this world
Tucked away inside that old shoebox
Of dreams we had and lost
Were my days of devil-may-care
And fits of childish Joy
Bridge:
They've gona away
And I am lost
But now I'm found
Cause she found me
Chorus:
She's not what i expected
She swept me off my feet
Now I am not subjected
To whims of society
Cause she makes me feel like me
The little voice
Saying
"Turn around, go back
And sing with all your might.
Go put up a fight."
Echoes
Inside my head
She brought me back from the dead
I miss you
Verse 2:
Strange, how we met
She seemed to fall from the sky
Was she an angel?
Or a devil?
I couldn't be sure
And I didn't care
I was frosted in ice
Bridge
Chorus
Verse 3:
She still stands here beside me
Keeping the voice strong
She always knows where to find me
But she's been away for far too long
Which clued me in
She's gone now
But I'm here
And she helped me find
Me
Me
(spoken) You saved my life. I love you, mom.

oh, it's not a band story. he's just in a band. and no, i didn't have anything in the background when i wrote it.
It's cool hear someone else is writing a band story...I am as well.
The song is also impressive, considering you wrote it from scratch (I'm assuming that you didn't have all the instruments and whatnot playing in the background when you wrote it?)
Keep it up. Matt should come up with more of these kinds of lyrics.
