It all started with a dream. To be exceptional. To grow beyond one's perceived limitations. To soar high into the sky and touch the zenith. To be free from worries, despair and what not.
Then it all came to this. You might be wondering about what exactly is going on here.
Well, what can I say? Life is pretty amazing once you see beyond the mundane, when you appreciate the minute yet significant wonders of life. It is absolutely amazing when you get a one way ticket out of despair and fear. A journey to freedom where freedom is setting mind free from the nagging doubts of self worth and freedom from the crushing helplessness of drowning . Nope, It was not a lottery.
It was a chance to prove to myself not to anyone else but to my harshest critique who turns out to be me.
It took an unknown city, long walks and sea breeze to clear the head and accept the beauty all around and within.
That meant I had to see the vibrant colours not just the shades, to listen to the dull hum of receeding tide to the raging storm. To bring on a smile when it was finally stuck.
Yup, what has changed you may ask. Outwards nothing. Yet within its all new and refreshing.
For the first time in a long time, I look up to life and smile on.

Hey! Nice piece. I relate so much to the line "... my harshest critique who turns out to be me"! I love the word choice and imagery and the way it talks to the reader. The ending is great, too, but maybe change "to" to "at" in the last sentence? Other than that all I have are a few more pointers regarding grammar- in the sentence "That meant I had to see the vibrant color not just the shade." maybe put in a comma between "color" and "not". Also, in the sentence "Yup what has changed you may ask" maybe change the punctuation and markings to make it flow and read better to something like "You may ask, "What has changed?". The "yup" does help to establish voice and a casual tone, but seems a little unnecessary to me. Overall, the grammar and punctuation could use some work, but I absolutely love the imagery, voice, word choice, and parallel structure. Great job!
