You know I love to feel you next to me
To memorize the way you laugh and hear the words you speak
And I've been told that we're all wrong, but I let myself dream
.
But we're a time-bomb waiting to explode
And take everything in our way
We are toxic, but I can't get enough
And I just can't walk away
All I want is to stay
But I won't waste another day
.
I believe in every empty promise you make
And I force myself to forget every single promise you break
You said you'd give me everything, but all you do is take
.
But we're a time-bomb waiting to explode
And take everything in our way
We are toxic, but I can't get enough
And I just can't walk away
All I want is to stay
But I know I need to say
Goodbye, goodbye to you
.
I've wasted so much time
Forgetting the times you lied
Trying to compromise
Just to keep our love alive
.
But we're a time-bomb waiting to explode
And take everything in our way
We are toxic, but I can't get enough
And I just can't walk away
All I want is to stay
But I know I need to say
Goodbye

I like that it's clear that the relationship is toxic and not good for this person, and they admit that, and they even explain how it's toxic: the empty promises, trying to forgive them all and move on. I like this because it's a realistic situation and especially the end gives hope to people stuck in the same place.
I wonder how you'd feel if the song had some more specifics in it, though.
Not about the broken promises or the words these people say, but maybe some physical sights or images? When you put in a concrete image, it kind of spreads automatically to the whole poem to make it take on a new level of reality. A kid who makes broken promises is like an "idea", but a kid who makes broken promises and wears red sneakers he colored on when he was younger seems more like a "person" than an idea, right? So just slipping in one little detail might go a long way to making this feel like a person talking to a person instead of an idea talking to an idea, and give us a more grounded song. Do you think so?
I also feel like you might need some more meat on your verses? Obviously, I don't know how the verses sound compared to the chorus, but they seem really short, and having the chorus with more meat and repeated over and over could make the song feel like it's all chorus. So~
Hope these thoughts are helpful to you!

Hello, Talia! Night here to review!
First off, wow. I really loved this. These are lyrics? Do you have a song to go with them? In my mind, I heard it as a pop-ish song. I really liked it. My favorite part was;
It just rolled nicely off the tongue, and I can't say enough how I enjoyed it.
Some nitpicks for you, however. I'm assuming you chose to go without punctuation, so I'll ignore that, because lyrics are meant to be heard, not read. I would like it if this was made a little longer, because your supporting stanzas, while great, were short and few in number. If you mean this to be a short song, great, up to you, but it was good enough I would enjoy seeing more. I saw no grammatical errors, but I was interested in why you changed the chorus each time. I liked how you kept the beginning the same, but I felt it would be more shocking (can't think of a different word) if you kept it the same until the very end. Just an opinion.
Overall, I really liked this. If you have a tune for it, I'd like to hear it!
Keep writing and being awesome!

Thanks for the input! I have a tune. It's kind of a pop ballad sort of feel.
I really appreciate your review!
Cool, sounds interesting. No problem!
