This is my first time in NaPow and I'm ready to go! My goal-30 Poems.
I've seen many reach for the stars and burn
Mans soul may be immortal stardust
But his heart is mortal rust forever tied
To the rythems of earth as vines to a tree
He may want to gyrate with galaxies
But he is only as strong as his humility
For we all live in silent night, illuminated
As we dance around life's campfire
Underneath the shadows of the sky
The distant lights of space a reminder
That even stars can fall.

I'll probably look back and say-''wow this poem needs editing'' but this is something I had to get of my chest.

Meaning, noun,
something I don't understand.
why should I care
if the geese are here and your nonexistant?
what am I even saying?
My words make no sense they mean nothing.
But wait. I made that clear.
I will never love again I've spent to many days
weeks, months years,
crying alone with only the moon for company
because
you faded away into dust
Do you take my meaning? I will never love again.
You will never mean
anything to me
your existance is gone
gone like windblown leaves
gone they way I wish the scars you left on my soul were.
gone they way my heart is.
that's right-you shattered my heart to near oblivion
and the pieces that remained
i gave away to a star and as far as I know
that star is still shining

This doesn't appear to have any meaning. I was trying to describe the way my life felt compared to a blackhole...it's complicated.
all consuming,
nothing escapes
all imprisoned
everything is chained
inside the blackhole of my mind
I slowly fade away into nothingness
my existance warped and forever changed
I can't helped but wonder-will i ever live again?

You'll also find this one on my wall
I am human, a wind-tossed leaf, a fallen heart whose battled night
In hopes to rise, but only to find, that shadows loomed within...
....
They cannot see the scars that smite my soul,
No one ever loves a loner, seeking humanity
Nor do they clean the dust across her heart
Or understand the tears she cries alone
And all are blind to the battles she fights
.....
You have left me to shadows, haunted by monsters inside
But still I lift my head, and bear these beautiful scars in pride
No one ever loves to fall but perhaps that's the only way to rise.

I can feel an intensity radiating from your poetry, EverLight! I particularly enjoyed the most recent poem because I felt that you captured the experience of mourning someone quite well.

I'm feeling the star/celestial theme coming through EverLight! I think the chunk that you highlighted in the Squills interview is particularly beautiful imagery - and the "ashes" reminded me of the creation of Adam & Eve; with a little twist.

"From ash, and stardust you were made
To forever dance through sky and space
To see humanity rise to future light"

Lamentations I
Me To The World
I know what you must think of me,
All sightless, and suppsedly helpless
Blind to the beauty of the earth
Incapable of seeing love in anothers eyes
But don't think I am without emotion
Do you know that every night I'm screeching at the stars
Wondering why everything hurts so much?
I know I act like the leader sometimes
All brave and noble, my empathy hidden deep down
But don't be fooled, I didn't ask for this
I mean, you seriously think I want
To sacrifice my every hope, my every dream?
Or give up the only light I ever saw?
