NEW YORK (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton says she will consult with party leaders and supporters to determine her next steps now that Barack Obama has enough delegates to clinch the Democratic nomination.

In a speech in New York, Clinton told supporters that: "This has been a long campaign and I will be making no decisions tonight." As she spoke, supporters chanted "Denver, Denver," thinking ahead to the site of the party's convention in August.

Earlier in the day, Clinton told congressional colleagues she would be open to joining Obama's ticket as his vice presidential nominee. But in her speech, the former first lady stopped short of ending or suspending her campaign. She did say she was committed to a united Democratic Party moving forward.

I am so tired of hearing about this primary.

I might actually respect Hillary if she was fighting for principles, but she's not, because guess what? Though one candidate is a black man and the other is a white woman, their actual positions are not that different.

So basically, Hillary fails. And I feel a little sorry for her, to be honest.

I heard on the radio that she'd consider VP, if Obama offered it to her. I think with that combo, they'd have a good shot at winning.

It's pretty weird that she won't concede yet, though.

Hilldawg is being incredebly stupid. There is a certain amount of respect someone gains by ceding in an election, and she is obviously too ignorant to realize this. Instead, she's just going to annoy everyone by not shutting up, and her husband's going to continue to be an idiot. I hope she doesn't get on the ticket just because it would be funny. Really, isn't she in debt, or something? Give up. It looks more respectable than pretending you can win, when you can't.

And, yes, I am getting really annoyed at the primaries. But I'm more annoyed because it will flip right over to general election talk, and that will annoy me just as much.

What does she think her supporters are going to tell her?!?!?

I hope she carries this through to the convention and they have a huge fight up there. And if she is VP, she'll probably sit around hoping he gets assassinated (I'd be checking her bags everywhere she goes if I was him).

Ooh...

Yeah, I do feel a little sorry for her. She might be VP, you never know. But against McCain? He has some interesting policies.

This election might be the first to offer you lucky Americans some real choice: Right vs. Left. All we get in Blighty are three parties who keep vying for the centre spot, except now Labour's gone so far Right even the Conservatives are struggling to catch up!

I have to agree with Pork here. There isn't much of a choice...*sigh* I wish this wasn't the first election I was voting in! Makes it complicated and risky.

I don't mean this to be an against Hill-dog post. As with Obama and McCain, there's a lot I like and there's a lot I don't like about her. Yet, she now seems delusional, which isn't a trait you want in any leader. What she should be doing is set down to work in the Senate, and start vying to be the next Senate majority leader once Reid leaves.

I'm just gald that this primary **** is finally finished. I was starting to really get ****ed off with it.

I'm planning on voting for McCain as of the moment, but who knows, maybe Obama will make me change my mind.

^^ A very angry old man on the radio, who claimed he hadn't a clue what was going on now or what happened to the world.

Hillary's pride is hurt. I think it's comparable to when a kid looses an argument, but doesn't want to admit it, so keeps on arguing even though it's over.

Or to a cat losing its balance and falling off a deck, then being indignant and walking away with the tail in the air, pretending nothing happened.

I don't think she'll admit to losing until someone gets sworn in. Then it might click for her that it's over, and I feel sorry for her for when that happens. Look at Hillary from when she first came to the white house as a first lady. Magazines reported that she wasn't the average first lady who stayed in the background. She won't be content with vise-president. She needs to be in the big chair to be happy. She won't stay in the background as a vise-president any more than she did as a first lady.

So in a way, even if she does get second place, she loses. Either way, vise or no vise, she lost.

And it is sooooo annoying because her earlier quotes, she kept on saying that she would let Obama be her VP, but not the other way around. It's like she couldn't fathom being anything less than president. And now... yeah. She wants to be VP? After the way she smeared Obama? I don't think so! So she is lame.

And yeah. This is a lame election to vote for. -_- However! My dad said that the country has survived several bad presidents before, so it's not the end of the world. Still. Lame. :P

Rev. Wright isn't running. His former church member is (and that was a completely political move).
