Psh. @Zolen, @SubtleSanity, and @Pompadour have a lot to learn yet about creativity. Anyone can be random; it's as simple as stringing together random words into sentences: such as "Bunny kicker's are activating my hydraulic actuators."

But being creative is an entirely different animal. At the end of the creative process, something has been created. Creativity isn't mere imagination, but taking imagination and turning it into something real.

Which is why @Snoink is without peers in the realm of creativity on YWS.

I'm being creative? No I am amusing myself, using a mixture of references, half off ideas, and lazy comments. As we are going the way of YWS I imagine the best way to tell creativity is a short story contest with a time limit of one day, give it a few to pile up some people and then give them all a time limit set via the chat system this site employs, to see what level of complexity and meaning one can pull out in a very very short time.

Or invent something and I don't know how many people have the disposable income to throw into that kind of venture to help someones curiosity.

Creativity is no real means of definition, Griffin. That is why it is called creativity.

It represents different things to different people, to defin creativity would be........un-creativity it.

I would agree with Griffin's definition though. "Create" is a definite root of the word "creativity," and so having something solid stem from this imagination seems to be an important factor in determining creativity.

I never thought of it that way... but yeah, it makes sense.

Short story contest, get everyone to agree on a time, have them all in chat so that you can time when it starts and have everyone start and stop at the same times. Perfect way to test creativity, by how much complexity they can in-vision in a short period of time.
