"Still...not...one...call..." I say quietly as soon as I wake up in the morning. Actually that statement is false. I have plenty of missed calls. From guys at Harmony that would love to fuck my brains out. From girls that want...shit...I don't even know. My fashion advice? Hell, I just dress like a bum everyday, and like a slut on days that i'm trying to impress someone with my nonexistant assets. No what I mean is...theres no missed call from him. From my Oli. Can I even say my Oli? Although he admitted that he is (or was...) in love with me, we never said that we were officially together. But right now I really really wish that we had.

Suddenly I hear noises. Laughing and all of that from downs stairs. Hmm...maybe Avery and Dylan are already making breakfast. Honestly, I don't know why they're up so early. Its nine on a day that we have off from school. They should both be sleeping in. I shrug and get up. I mean I might as well join the party. When I get downstairs I immediately wanna run right back to my room. Its such a happy family, room-mate like scene that makes me really really want to join in. Both Leo and Dylan are at the kitchen island talking about whatever guys talk about while Avery and Alosha are joking around at the stove as they both cook something. When one of the two groups says something a bit louder than the other does they all join in and just laugh at the end at whatever they finished saying and then they both go back to doing what they had stopped previously.

Its so perfect that I just wish that Oliver were here with me. We could both join in easily. But no...instead its just me. So I begin backing away from the kitchen entryway, but not before my lovely cousin notices me of course.

"Goodmorning Kris!" She says, all nice and chipper, I'm actually pretty surprised. Avery always wheres the same thing to sleep, and thats always been one of her silky nightgowns. She says that they keep her skin soft and supple. But right now she's wearing a pair of tight nike jogging shorts and her sports bra. She notices me looking and smiles "Yeah, as soon as I woke up I forced Leo into going down to the basement to work out in the private gym with me." She looks over at him "It was a struggle but at some point he just decided to stop fighting me."

"Anything for my mistress of course." Leo says winking, and doing a smirk that I vaguely recognize, making Avery blush really red and continuing on with her cooking.

"I had actually been talking to Avery about the wedding." Alosha says smiling at me "She wants to plan absolutely everything." She looks down at the large engagement ring on her finger. Suddenly Dylan is up behind her, putting his his arms around her waist.

"When we get married I want it to be fit for a princes my love. That and more. Avery knows how to make that happen, right short stuff?" Dylan says, nuzzling himself into her neck, and having to slouch while doing so because he's just so friggin tall. Avery rolls her eyes but nods all the same. Leo seems to be staring at me strangely.

"Are you alright Kristin?" I smile, this time its really genuine.

"Yep. I'm just happy to see you all happy. It brightens up my day. If you want i'll call Sasha Souza to help plan." I say, clasping my hands behind my back.

"Who is that?" Alosha asks, her beautiful face, a question mark.

"The best wedding planner in all of the U.S." Avery says stirring something in a sauce pan. "I was planning on calling her later but it'd be great if you could help Kris." Avery says, beaming at me. I nod.

"You know...I was just thinking...."Leo says a tad bit quietly from his seat but everyone is listening intently. "I think that I'll help you teach at Harmony High, Dylan." Dylans eyes widen, and Avery drops her spatula.

"So you're really going to take me up on the offer? Thats great! And babe, are you still thinking as working as a main office lady there?" Dylan asks, rather excitedly. Alosha sighs.

" Well i might as well. Harmony High seems like the place to be in this house." Alosha smiles. "And...i've always wanted to do it...on a teachers desk." She says winking at Dylan. He turns as red as a tomato. I turn to Leo while laughing.

"So what does that mean you'll be doing?" I ask him.

"The way that Dylan explained it to me is just that i'll be like a second teacher in the classrooms. If a student needs help or anything in the classroom while Dylan's busy i'll help them." He says with a soft smile on his face. " And with this i'll be able to see Avery every day." I wish that Oliver wanted to see me everyday...

"You should be great in the foreign language classes." Avery says "Your accent switch is truly on point." Avery said nodding. I actually found it quite hard to believe that a guy with this much of a french accent could just switch it up.

"Oh...like this one, young mistress?" He asked in a deep british accent and I almost fainted.

"Oh my god you were Sebastian?!?!" I ask practically screaming and he laughs, no chuckles, with that deep voice.

"Hardly. I'm just one hell of a voice actor." He says with a wink and I almost swoon. Oh my gosh and he could be Sebastian! With the black hair and hazel eyes! I never took it in before now but jesus!

"Stop drooling K! Find your own brit!" Avery says laughing. I roll my eyes and sit down. But the I check my phone once more. Nope...still no call from him.

Oliver Hemingway

It's time to call Kristin.

I've left both her and Lacey in the dark, and it's finally time to speak up. With my phone in my hand, I rang up Kristin. Just a small talk with her. That's all I needed. I wouldn't be surprised if she would ignore my call even. I'd be pissed at me if I didn't call in so long. But she could've called as well! She has a phone!

"Oliver?" was her respond once she answered.

"No, this is President Bill Clinton. I did not sexually harass that woman." I joked.

A small giggle came from her side which made me smile.

"Why didn't you call?" she asked.

I took a moment, "Kristin, I've been..." and she cut me off.

"Busy, right?"

I sighed, "No, I've been thinking a lot lately. It sounds bad, I know. But it's not, trust me. I'm still there for you. I really love you Kristin. It's just, it was a bad moment to do this."

"And why is that?" she was oddly quiet, like something was wrong. I shrugged it off for a moment. She's alright. She has to be.

"Kristin, is everything okay?"

Here she was silent. All I heard was her breathing on the other side. Something was wrong. She always would say, I'm good! and now she said absolutely nothing. My heart was racing with anticipation of hearing her again.

"I'm okay," it was such a lie.

"Kristin, what happened?!" I could hear my own worry in my voice.

"I'm fine Oli... you're just too late..." the last part was quiet, I barely heard it.

I looked at the phone and hung up. This only meant one thing, I had to go to her. With my car keys at hand, I decided to drive to her house and see her.

***

Ringing the doorbell, I waited while switching my weight from one foot to another. It was taking a while. I shook the door knob, trying to open it. Locked. Now, I started to knock, intensively.

"Aye, impatient!" A guy said from inside.

I pulled away from the door as it opened, showing a handsome fella with black hair and a tall figure. Smiling, I slid my hands into my coat pockets. If he didn't let me in sooner, I'd turn into Frosty, I'm freezing here.

"You are?" he asked with a British accent. So I wasn't the only one?

"Oliver, Oliver Hemingway. I'm here to see Kristin."

It was like I surprised him for a quick moment.

"So Kristin does have a British fella!" a girl said. She then appeared behind him. Ah, it was Avery.

Waving at me, I felt like that meant I should walk in. They stepped to the side as I got into the house and they locked it behind me. The hot air swooshed around me as I unzipped my coat.

"So do you, Avery." I smiled.

"Oh, no. Leo? He's still pretending to be Sebastian." Avery said.

I put my coat on their coat rack and followed them. They walked and I felt like I should just go behind them. Leo and Avery held hands, a little shocking to me. But then I remembered, Will was with Jane. That shook me, and I was new here. Imagine what these people would feel if they knew.

"And who's that?" I asked.

"Anime," she explained.

"Ah, right. I really wouldn't know."

We stepped into what was the living room. I remembered this from the party. Except it was much cleaner know and more elegant. No red solo cups or broken glasses. Just a clean, elegant home. Just to our right was the kitchen and I saw another guy sitting at the island, typing something on the computer.

"Dyl! I want you to meet Kristin's boyfriend!" Avery said, all smiles.

This Dyl guy turned his head and looked at me. I felt like I was going through a TSA scanner just by his eyes. I swallowed loudly as he stared. He strangely looked like Kristin. Maybe he was her brother?

"Are you the guy? Did I get it wrong?" He suddenly said.

As I looked at Avery, I knew something bad was going to happen. I held my breath, trying to remember all the karate training I had as a pre-teen. It's all old, but I think I can reuse them if I had too.

The guy stood up, stepping closer to me. Every step he took was confident and terrifying at the very same time.

"No Dylan!" Avery said.

"Don't defend him," Dylan sneered.

"No seriously. Dylan." Avery got harsh as she stepped between us.

They looked at each other for a while. And God helped me. Dylan calmed down and Avery stepped back to Leo. I let go my breath and smiled, slowing down my thought process on karate self defense. Dylan stuck out his hand towards me and I was clueless for a moment. Then I took it, shaking it for a few seconds.

"Hello, I'm Oliver Hemingway." I introduced myself once the shaking stopped.

"Dylan Piest, nice to meet you." He brought up a soft smile.

So he is related to Kristin.

"Where's Kristin?" I automatically asked, facing Avery.

For a second, she said nothing as she looked at Dylan. Then, she answered me. And it was a little awkward for me to even stand here.

"She's in her room."

I started my way up and found my way to the stairs. Again.

Spoiler
Continue Desti! The party should start soon.

Kristin

Listening to Nirvana is not recommended when sad. Honestly, it felt like the life was being sucked out of me. And I couldn't sleep. Every time I tried to he was always back on top of me. Hitting me. Calling me a whore. A slut. A stupid bitch. It becomes truly suffocating.

"Kristin?" A familiar british voice says, as he walks into my room. I sit up quickly with a gasp.

"You're here!" I say, reaching for the on switch on my lamp. He comes and sits on the edge of my bed.

"Yeah...I was really worried when we hung up. I had to come on check on you..." He says, trailing off. His words make me happy. And for a second I forget about what happened. But then it comes back, and I look down. The tears come immediately, and I feebly lift my hand and fist it just to bring it down on the bed hard.

"Why are you worried now Oli? Why couldn't you have called earlier? this wouldn't have happened..." Oh gosh...here comes the never ending geyser of snot. "I needed you! More than you'll ever know! You said...you said that you loved me! Then why didn't you call me? Or text me? Or come by until now?" I ask, the tears coming down like twin waterfalls.

"There was so much to think about Kristin. I wanted to call you! I did! I just...I just didn't know what to say. I do love you. But what was I too late for? Tell me Kristin! Tell me now!" I shrink away from him and he comes towards me slowly, his eyes pleading. "Please tell me...i'm sorry that I wasn't here. I'm so sorry. But tell me what happened." He said, and clasped my limp hand.

"He raped me. Michael...my ex. I broke up with him the day after you said you loved me. He took it badly. And then he..." I can't finish because sob after sob racks through my body after that. When I open my eyes again i'm suddenly in Olivers arms.

"I'm here, Kristin. I'm here now, okay? I'll always be here. I promise. No one will ever hurt you again. Okay?" He begins rocking me back and forth, chanting the same thing, and when my sobbing dies down into small hiccups I wrap my arms around him tightly.

"You promise?" I ask softly, and he nods.

"I love you." He says pulling back and looking into my eyes for a second. I manage a tiny smile.

"I love you too." I say, and hug him close again.

"Blume! Avery's party will be starting soon. Are you fit to join?" Dylans voice yells from outside my door. Oliver pulls away and looks at me closely.

"Are you?" He asks. There's not much to do now. The past is in the past. I can only move on and learn from it now. I smile again and nod.

Avery (earlier that day)

"I want this party to be marvelous Kris." I say loudly, people in the halls staring at me as I do so. I don't care. I like to let people think what they want.

"Who's invited?" She asks quietly. She's been more reserved since whats happened. I hope that Oli comes soon and shakes her out of this mess.

"Why, everyone of course!" I say happily. Kristin raises an eyebrow.

"Although you say everyone only a few groups come. Why not try branching out?" She asks, lifting her back onto her shoulder a bit more. I look down considering. She's right. Although I always invite everyone, only the jocks, cheerleaders, stoners, and college students come. I had just never looked at it that way.

"Mmkay. New mission. Have as many people possible, that I don't know, come to my party. Good goal, yes?" I say, poking her in the side. She giggles.

"Yep, it definitely is. Why not start with him first eh?" she says, pointing at the guy with the long hair messily gathered on top of his head, putting books in his locker. I nod and with a look of determination, approach him.

"Hi! My name is Avery, and yours is?" I ask, a bit too loudly I guess because he jumps, and then looks over at me with a grumpy look on his face.

"Not interested." He says, continuing to put his books in his locker. I raise an eyebrow at him. Stubborn one, this one.

"What makes you think that I'm trying to get something out of you?" I ask leaning on the locker next to his. He rolls his eyes.

"Thats the only reason why girls like you come up to me. To ask me for something. So I felt that I might as well be straight out and say that i'm not interested." He says. I look down.

"Well...I just wanted to ask you...if well...if you'd like to be friends." I say quietly. He looks at me, his eyes widened, in shock perhaps.

"Why would you want to be friends with me?" He asks, his frown seeming to deepen. I shrug and look up at him with a smile.

"Because your hair is blue. And I think that it's wonderful. I love it. So i'd like it if you could come to my party tonight. I'd really appreciate it. And...well although I don't know you well, i'd make sure that you'd have fun. Promise." I say, extending a hand to him. He stares at it for a second and then turns back to his locker.

"Thanks, but parties aren't really my...thing." He says. Oh no. He's gonna go. I think fast and spot his phone on the shelf of his locker. Before he can even notice, I take it quickly and begin dialing my number.

"Hey what are yo-" He reaches for it but I quickly turn while calling my phone. When I finally hear it ring I hang it up and hand it back to him. He snatches it out of my hand but I just smile.

"Now i'm definitely not coming." He says, and turns away to get to his next class.

"I'll set up a guest room for us to watch horror movies in. Away from everyone. It'll be great!" I call out as he continues to walk away.

Later that day

"Well you definitely got quite a few new faces in here."Kristin says smiling when she comes down from her bedroom with Oliver.

"Yeah...but..."I keep a constant look at the door as people keep milling in. I texted him my address and everything. I hope that he comes. I even set up the movies and snack so he won't be overwhelmed with all of the people. So i just sit down by the main door and wait.

Lacey

“So, Jane broke up with you.”

“Yeah. We kind of broke up with each other. Everything’s a mess.”

Emmett sits on the very edge of my bed, as though afraid to get to close to me. My feet are kicked high against the wall, threatening to knock the DFTBA poster down. It didn’t take much to figure Emmett’s problems out, the way he was moping about. He hasn’t figured out what happened to me yet, the dense idiot.

I think about my response, rolling my gum around in my mouth. “She’s kinda a bitch.”

Emmett looks at me, shocked. “Lacey!”

“She is! She’s supposed to be my friend, but I know that much. I mean, before you got together she was a hot mess, and she fixed herself up to be with you. That was great for both of you, but who she was never went away. She disguised it under that pretty, artsy girl that even I liked. It was bound to come back out, even if she didn’t want it to, no matter how much you tried to push it down.”

Emmett frowns, but leans against the wall. “And Oliver?”

“Drama with a British accent.” There’s no point in hiding my worries from my brother, for he will ask of them without knowing what they are. “I’m just waiting for something even worse to happen. I like him, of course I do, but I just don’t know what to do… I don’t know how he feels about me.”

Emmett eyes my stomach with an empty gaze, and I think he knows with a giant heart drop, but he looks away. “I don’t trust him.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

We’re both quiet. “Maybe we should get friends. I haven’t talked to Ace in forever.”

Emmett snorts. “Ace is letting you ignore her?”

“Ha! She tried for a while to stay friends, but gave up last month. She’s downright pissed, but I can fix that with a homemade scarf and some good chocolate.”

“It seems like all we do right now is have relationship drama. I’m sure that’s all Hakan has, all Oliver has, and,” his brown eyes water up, “one can only imagine what Jane is doing with her freedom.” I know he is broken up over his first love, but so am I. I can’t seem to open my mouth to comfort him. “Taylor keeps acting like we’re friends, but we haven’t hung out since I first started dating Jane. Same with David. They’re both too nice, I guess.”

I wrap my legs around me, staring at my brother. “So, that’s it, then. We’re going to actually get lives that do something?”

Emmett nods. “Yeah. I’ll try not to do anything stupid.”

“You?”

“A broken heart can make you do crazy things,” he says.

As though I didn’t know.

------------------------

Ace stares at my peace offering, a crochet Ravenclaw scarf and some homemade chocolate chip cookies.

“Not bad.” She takes them into her arms. “Finally got bored?”

I watch Ace juggle her Saxophone case, cookies, and scarf. I know better than to offer my help. “ I hate Hakan’s guts. My new ‘boyfriend’ hasn’t called since our first date. I have no friends. You could call it ‘bored’, I suppose.”

Ace snorts, blowing a piece of streaked purple hair out of her face. “Tell it as it is, Lacey. I’d hoped you’d come back over to the relationship-free side. We don’t have sex, but we have video games and chocolate and Doctor Who, so it’s pretty much better.”

I laugh, realizing how much I’d missed Ace in drowning myself in my own problems. “Yeah, I’ve missed Zelda marathons. We all know how much of a sex god Link is.”

Ace laughs. “Missed you too, but you’ve still got one more condition.”

I sigh. “Do I have to? I didn’t bring any clothes.”

“I’ve got extras.” I gesture to my chest, and she rolls her eyes. “You can have two sports bras if you’re really that worried about ‘hurting your back’.”

“Fine.”

Remember that thing I said about liking Ace because of her awesomeness? She’s got one exception.

“See how nice it is out? Perfect day for a nice little three miler.” Ace turns around, running backwards, grinning at me.

“I hate you.”

“No you don’t.”

I heave a giant breath in. We’re only two miles in, but it feels like we are so far away from the school. I’m a tad nervous that this is one of those Cross Country Jokes. ‘You thought we were going three miles! Haha, we’re going six! Have fun dying!’

I half recognize where we are, and I pad after Ace, trying to trust her again. Suddenly, she veers off the road.

“Ace!”

“Oh my god!”

She’s leaning down next to something, and I- thankfully- heel to a stop. My muscles cry out in anguish, but it is nothing next to the pain contorting Ace’s face. Under her hands is a dog, clearly in pain. I don’t know what’s wrong with it, but it looks like it could be a hit and run deal. The dog whimpers, turning towards us. It’s still alive.

“Ace! Don’t do what I think you’re going to do!”

“Do you know anyone who lives around here? We need to get it help!”

I rack my brain for my friend, who has been so much better to me than anyone else. “My brother’s ex, Jane lives just over there.” I point my finger.

Ace is tiny, and the dog is no lap pup, but Ace picks it up anyway. She half-runs, half-staggers over to Jane’s house, but I sprint in the direction first, ringing the doorbell.

I hear someone yell, “You guys keep going! I’ve got it!”

A sense of dread fills me, but the door opens in spite of t. It’s Oliver. His face drops to see me, and my whole body churns with pain. He’s still got his jacket on; he was going or coming back from somewhere, clearly.

“Lacey…”

I push myself past him, keeping the door open for Ace as I explain. “Hurt dog on the side of the road when my friend and I were running. We need some place to help it, and this is Jane’s house, who I know. The animal people will be on their way if you give me, like, five minutes.”

Oliver simply nods, moving to the kitchen to put down paper towels on the table. Ace staggers in, and sets the dog down with a giant sigh. With superhuman amazingness, she whips out her phone and moves to the living room.

“Animal services…?”

I am left alone with Oliver and peculiar sounds upstairs.
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

Oliver Hemingway

*before the party*

"Kristin, I have to run home and grab Jane. She's been there moping around for days. A party is good for her." I said.

"Great idea, mind if I tag along?" she asked, a wicked smile shaping her face.

The thing was, I would take her with me. But I did not need to have her see Will and Jane. That would be tragic and horrible and... I don't even want to go nay farther. He stayed the night, who knows if he left or was still there.

"I don't mind, but it'll just be a sec. Stay here with Avery." I suggested.

She let out a sigh and looked away from me. "Alright," she huffed.

"No, Kristin. Jane is... um, really sensitive right now."

"Maybe she needs to be with her best friend?" she darted her eyes at me. I could feel her anger.

"Well, I guess." and she nodded in response. "I wanna grab something else while I'm there, it's a surprise."

"You're just saying that."

I took her hands in my own and pulled her close to me, closing the distance between us. Right away, I could tell she wouldn't believe me. But I had to try my hardest. I didn't need a full on Jane and Kristin blow out tonight.

"Please Kristin. She really isn't able to see you yet. It's not good. I'm just gonna perk her up, get her put of there. She's been so sad after Emmett." I admitted.

"Perk her up?"

"Is that all you here?" I choked out a laugh.

A blush grew on her cheeks as she joined with my laughter.

"Let me bring her, alright? You wait here and stay close to Dylan. I don't want you hurt."

"Then let me come with you."

I looked at her and she let out a short breath. Pulling me closer, she lied her lips on top of mine. As we kissed, I smiled. Once we pulled away, I let her go and walked toward the door.

***

This won't be done as quickly as I thought. Jane is upstairs while Lacey and her friend Ace are here. In the flat. I need to get to that party. But, jeez, talk about bad timing. Lacey is here and I have nothing to say to her. My heart hurts just looking at her. THIS WAS SUCH A BAD TIME. Why did I tell Kristin I loved her right after I date Lacey? I like Lacey, I really do. I have feelings for her. And I have feelings for Kristin. They are stronger for Kristin... but. I can't tell Lacey it's over. It'd break me. And most of all, it'd break her.

"Where did you find the dog?" I asked, looking at it on the table.

Lacey was petting it, trying to clam the dog down. It was still alive, but was terribly hurt.

"On the road," she said abruptly.

Silence passed between us. I had nothing to say. She wouldn't speak. And Ace, she was talking on the phone. That all there was. A pin could drop and you could in fact hear it.

"Lacey..." I sighed. "I apologize for not speaking to you."

She didn't even lift her head to look at me, she just huffed under her breath and kept petting the dog. I walked up to the table and sat in one of the chairs, joining her.

"I've had a terrible week. And I know it's stupid. I like what we have." I said.

Then, without hesitation, she started to speak but didn't look at me, just at the dog.

"I don't need this Oliver. I liked you, a lot. But right now I think is a bad time for us. You're doing your thing, I'm... I'm doing mine. So maybe we should stop seeing each other."

I held my breath, feeling myself break. She was so much stronger than I thought.

"I believe you're right." I agreed. "Maybe later?"

"Sure," she sighed.

As if someone wanted to ruin her even more, someone started to walk down the hallway. And who else would it be? It was William with only his boxers on. He rubbed his hand on his face and found himself in the kitchen, going to the coffee machine.

Lacey just stared at him, probably making up five hundred stories in her head about what's going on. She doesn't know I live here. So now she sees two guys in Jane's house. Jane looks like a complete slut now. Sorry Janey. I needed to explain. But, looking at Lacey made me want to hide, her eyes were just filled with disbelief and complete anger.

"Good afternoon Will." I said, trying to ease the tension.

He must have felt it too, cause he was cautious when turning to look at us. Taking a sip of his coffee, he walked over to us. He almost chocked when he saw the dog on the table. Being almost naked, he was pretty confident about it. Maybe it was the hair that was still bed hair messy, but looked nice. Or the pecs. Guys get cocky, I simply am cocky. But some guys need help to be so. And he has the muscles to do that.

"The fuck?" he asked. "What happened to the dog? Is he okay?"

His eyes were wide as he leaned over the dog, checking him out. Lacey didn't dare look away from Will until he looked at her. She then proceeded to look at the dog.

"A road accident." Ace said once she came up to us.

"You called someone, right?" he asked Ace.

"Of course. I'm not stupid."

Ace stood next to Lacey, looking at the dog as well. I stood up from the table and walked to he fridge, grabbing a bottle of water. As I shut it, I chugged some of it down.

"Will! Can you grab me a cup too!?" Jane called from down the hallway.

OH SHIT WAS SHE FUCKING STUPID. Well, she didn't know Lacey was here. And you didn't want to know how she looked like. Her face was completely red and she was huffing. For Will's satisfaction, he didn't know who Lacey was, so he was confused why she was getting cross.

"Ace?" Lacey asked.

"Mhm?" she replied.

"Stay here for a moment... I gotta do something."

Shit. What was she gonna do?

My phone started to ring, so I grabbed it. Kristin's name was written on the caller ID, so I answered it, walking into my room.

"Oli, what's taking so long?" she asked, frustrated.

"Traffic?" I asked.

"Oliver,"

"Trust me, it's traffic. Just not on the road. Uh, Lacey found a dog that got in a hit and run and brought it to my flat... now we're just waiting for the animal control. She found it near us."

"Oh my God! Is the dog okay?"

"For now. Will is..." and I stopped myself.

She was silent for a moment, as if waiting for me to finish. And I couldn't finish.

"What?" she asked.

"Uh, Will is watching the dog for a moment."

"Will's there? Tell him to come after you take care of the dog."

"Right, sure thing. I gotta go, I think they're here. See you in a few, babe."

"See you,"

Hanging up, I slid the phone into my pocket and sighed. At least everything's taken care of. Lacey doesn't even want me. I'm with Kristin. Which makes me both happy and sad at the same time. But now I'm really terrified. What is Lacey going to do with Jane? I know she meant Jane in that context.

I stepped out of my room and looked down the hallway. All the doors were shut. So, I looked over to where the kitchen was and saw Will talk to Ace. They had worried expressions. I walked over and joined them.

"Hey, are you Lacey's boyfriend?" Ace asked me once I reached the table.

"No," I was caught a bit off guard. "I mean, we went on one date... no I'm not."

"Well, she was lucky for that one date." a smirk shown on her face.

I cleared my throat, trying to catch Will's attention. And as I've noticed, he isn't the attention grabbing type. He just petted the dog.

"Hey, William." I smiled.

Finally, he turned his head and looked at me. I was unable to read his face, but it was definitely a mixture of emotions.

"Why didn't you tell me dude?" he asked, his tone off.

I got dressed. This party needed a nice party look, but not too extravagant. So in reality, I couldn't contact my stylist because it'd be too much. I picked out my mother's dress from when she was in her twenties. She let me borrow it. It was a skater dress that was the color dark grey with studs on the ends. Yes, I'd say she was a rocker. Or just a fashion set woman.

"So Jasmine," My mom asked from my bedroom door.

Looking over at her, it was like seeing myself in twenty years. She had the same green eyes, big and beautiful. Also, we shared the same hair color. Originally we were dark brown, then we both dyed it burgundy. She did it first, and it ended up I liked the same thing. We were even the same height. Her face resembled mine, but with a little bit of wrinkles and dark bags under her eyes. She hasn't slept in a long while, and neither have I.

All those concerts from the past weekend blew us over. And the move added to that. Damn did we get tired.

"Yeah mom?" I asked.

"You have fun at that party. You really deserve it. Just be careful!" she smiled.

"Of course mom."

With a nod, she walked back downstairs. I grabbed my things and left the room, leading myself to the garage.

***

Jeez. I've been to many parties, forcefully. but this was the best yet. Well maybe because I didn't feel out of place. I hated parties, always have, always will. But since Avery invited me, why not. And to be honest, why not was right. It was great.

The music was pumping and even the food was to die for. I was lucky that this time, there weren't any drug filled cookies. Phew. Didn't need that incident again. I am never going to a Ke$ha party ever again.

"Hey! You made it!" Avery cheered once she saw me.

"Yeah, wouldn't miss it!" I smiled.

"You look amazing Jas. Go grab something to eat! I'm gonna look for Dylan."

She walked away with a wave and I found myself at the food area. Maybe a small chocolate wouldn't hurt. My dietitian got me on this stupid no sweets diet because if I eat sweets, I get pimples, and pimples are no good for big star! Whatever. I'm Jasmine now, I will eat my damn sweets.

I plopped one in my mouth a sighed with awe. Shutting my eyes, I melted with the chocolate, so much in bliss. Then I opened them once the chocolate was gone. I took a few more pieces and plopped them all in my mouth, walking away from the table.

Next thing I knew, my phone was vibrating in my pocket. Yes this dress was so amazing, it had pockets! I pulled it out and realized, it was my Bradley phone. My other phone was in my purse which I gave to Avery to hide. I thought I left my Bradley phone in it. Shit, gotta get my other one. But first, I have no other choice but to answer this call.

I stepped to the side and found myself in a closet. It was quiet enough. I flicked on the lights and locked the door, sure I'd be here alone.

"Hello," I answered.

"Bradley! Oh it's so good to hear you. Sorry it's so late, but we have to see each other!" Oh no. It was Mary Yemens. She was the daughter of my music producer. See, the producer is nice, sweet, let's me do everything my way. I don't have to be friend's with her daughter. But her daughter just loves me and loves the idea of being my 'best friend' and also, obligates herself to be friends with celebrities. And in my case, I didn't need that at all.

"Mary. Ahh, great to hear you." I smiled.

"So, wanna catch a movie? Hit up some party?" her voice was as chipper as a chipmunks. No, chipmunks would be jealous of her.

"Listen, right now I am at a party and don't wanna go."

"I can come and join!"

Running my hand over my face, I sighed. "No Mary, how about we hang for some lunch tomorrow. It's the weekend?"

She took a while to respond. Either she was yelling in her head. Contemplating. Or she just wanted to seem dramatic. Or to seem like she was actually thinking about this.

"Sure, I've got no plans. See you tomorrow then! Love!" and she hung up.

I could never get her mad. Putting my phone back into my pocket, I unlocked the door and stepped out, bracing the party. Somehow, I wasn't in the mood to be here anymore. I found my way to the coat closet where Avery put all our stuff and I opened it, waiting to see and break a make-out session or to just come to an empty closet. People rob you know. But in fact, all I saw were coats and purses and even snow boots. I found my items and grabbed my purse, replacing my phone with the Bradley phone.

Stepping out, I closed the door and walked over to where the party went outside. Maybe leaving wasn't a good idea, so I'll join the smokers. I opened the front door and heard all these kids laughing and even singing. Beer bottles were everywhere and cigarette butts joined them. I walked up to one of the girls, a very pretty one with her hair in a loose french braid which seemed to reach her waist.

"Hi, can I have a cig?" I asked her.

She looked at me. I would tell you if I saw her anywhere, she doesn't smoke, because of the way she looked. She was really pretty and petite, like me. So, I'm not surprised by the look on her face when she saw me. I looked non-smoker-ish.

But in the end, she dug one out of this guy's pocket that was next to her and handed me one, lighting it up with her lighter as well.

"Thanks, I'm Jasmine." I smiled.

"I'm Jane," she smiled back.

I puffed on the cigarette, watching the stars glow in the sky. Jane was doing that too. I guess it's a one and the same thing.

"Hey," a guy came up to me, smirking like crazy.

Sighing, I looked away from him. I didn't know who this was, so I'm not even gonna bother. I finished the cig and crushed it under my heel, feeling the cold air hit me just now. Smokers have the appeal to warm themselves in the cold whilst smoking, but after, we freeze bad. I rushed back into the house and shook as I heated myself up.

What made me stop was the song that started to play. Every time something of mine was playing anywhere, I automatically left. I just felt wrong being Jasmine in a Bradley area. It happened to be my newest hit, "Seattle". I wrote it about a year ago. It's about the time I fell in love with the coffee guy at my Starbucks. Since coffee is popular in Seattle and I love that city, I named the song after it. This happened to be a slow rock song. For couples precisely. The thing is, I love this sing. It's the only one of mine that I can stand to listen. So I stood there for a while and sang to myself. I was lucky no one was around me.

"It's all about the sun, and all about the rain. I can't help but go around and say the same. I'm talking to you about the things that you do! Just turn me around and say my name..." I sang, shutting my eyes in the process.

"Holy shit," I heard someone say.

Looking up, I saw Avery. She was standing not even two feet away from me with her jaw dropped.

"Uh," I said.

"You are Bradley! Oh my God! I freaking knew it!" she almost screamed.

"No! Don't! Shush!" I said frantically.

This is when I find out Emmett has a sister and that she would stop by to ruin me. And Oliver didn't bother tell me? Nor did Jane? Like, do they care that I care about what would happen if anyone found out? Does Jane care that we'd be shit?

And now they bring me an injured dog. I was going to say dead dog but then I realized, he's still alive. Which is great. Dog still has a lot to live. At least this dog will live an amazing life, not be screwed over like us humans. Now I sound stupid and weird. I'm just freaking out. Not myself right now.

You can't blame me.

I just had sex with Jane.

God that sounds weird.

I never knew that could be possible.

And know Emmett's sister knew. I was fucking screwed. And so was Jane. It'd be nice to think Jane hasn't moved on, he would be happy. But since that didn't happen... well... I guess all I have to say is that's too bad. She was sad, and that's how this happened. I mean, that sex could have been pity, could have been a fall back. I didn't care. It was good sex.

"Hey, let's go to the party." Jane said once we got back to the house.

We dropped Lacey and her friend Ace off at the animal hospital with the dog. Jane wanted to stay but thought better of it because she didn't want to be in the same room as Lacey. She did something to her that shook her. I mean, she'd be scared just because Lacey saw me, so either way, I believe she wouldn't stay.

"Yeah, just get dressed then." I replied.

***

The party was big, blasted, Avery Piest style. Everyone was here, I even recognized some college students. How did I know them? Simple, I take courses in a few of them.

Some brand new music was hitting the speakers. I guess they got some European DJ. They throw in some songs from Europe all the time. So half the time, you don't know what the singer is saying, but you enjoy it. I could barely hear anything other than the music. Jane was at my hip, a little lost.

"You know what?" she yelled into my ear, the only why of communication.

"You just smoked, so don't say that." I replied.

"Let's have sex."

I paused, looking at her for a moment. The lights were dimmed, so her face was a bit blurry. But I could spot the lust in her eyes.

"Really?"

"Avery's room," she smiled.

"You're crazy," I sighed.

"What?"

I took her hand in mine and lead her to where I knew was the coat closet. Not the one where everyone threw their coats, but the Piest one. Where she kept her families stuff. Mixing our clothes with theirs is confusing at times, so they have two separate, for guests and for themselves.

"Why always closets?" Jane asked once we got inside.

"We aren't gonna have sex." I said.

Her face got sad, a frown shaping her face. I then pulled at her french braid and she smiled.

"You don't want to have sex Jane. You can't want to all the time."

"Yes I can, and yes I do. With you," she licked her lips.

"Really?"

It took her a second to think about it as her eyes roamed around the closet.

"Well, I do... but not like all the time. I just... we had a good time and I want more of that. It's boring here."

"We can't have sex just cause it's boring."

"Yes you can," She smiled, moving closer to me.

"I guess, but let's not. Let's take it slow Jane."

"Are you asking me to go steady?" she actually started to laugh.

I felt a blush grow on my cheeks. She put her hands on my shoulders and stood on her tip-toes, just so she could be at my height.

"Yes I am. It's weird." I looked into her eyes. "Can we?"

Leaning into me, she lied her lips on mine. Her kiss was soft, like two pillows caressing my lips. I loved her kisses. So, I pulled her closer, deepening the kiss. Her tongue surfed my bottom lip, and I let her in. Before it got any further, she pulled away, making my adrenaline rise.

"Oh come on," I huffed. "You can't leave it like that!"

"Going steady, sweetie." she winked.

"That's not fair!"

"That's life,"

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door, making Jane jump into my arms. We stood quiet for a moment and waited until the person would say something.

"Stop with the sex guys!" A guy said.

"No sex, just lost my jacket." I replied.

"Probably the girl stole it?" he said.

I shook my head, opening the door. With a smile, I nodded at the guy. He looked sorta familiar but I knew I have never seen him before. Then Jane gripped my shoulder, forcing me to look at her. She knew him.

Avery

"I fucking knew it..." I mutter to myself as I drag Bradley by her sleeve upstairs to my room. When we get there I cross my arms and wait for her to begin. She looks down shyly, and suddenly i'm reminded of my old friend. Who was so sweet. And just all around real. Not like the people partying in my living room.

"I just...I just didn't want to be famous all of the time. I love singing. You know that. Its just..."She looks up at my eyes "Its just that it grows to be too much sometimes. The people screeching "Ehrmahgerd! It's Bradley! Its motherfucking Bradley!" Sometimes it's liberating to hear that. But other times its...aggravating."She finishes with a sigh. I roll my eyes.

"Dude, you should have told me." I say, pulling her towards my computer chair, and then plopping down on the bean bag chair next to her. "I've missed you." I say, shoving her shoulder softly. She smiles but then looks me in the eyes seriously. "You can't tell anyone Ave. I...I don't want to have to go b-" I cut her off.

"Oh shut up! You know that I won't tell anyone. Promise." I say, and then hug her close. "I've really fucking missed you ,ya know." I say squeezing her.

"I've missed you too Ave." She pulls back smiling and I smack her cheek with a quick smooch.

"Lets get back to that party." I say smiling widely and shoving myself up. She smiles and follows.

"Hey...wait!" I say going back to the couple that were probably fucking each other senseless in there. "Your name is Jane right?" I ask pointing at her with a teasing smile on my face. Her face quickly shifts from worried to also teasing.

"Oh so you remember me, Mr.Piest?" she asks. I roll my eyes.

"Mr.Piest is my father. You can just call me Mr.Dylan." I say smiling. She giggles, and tugs on her boyfriends arm. He stares at me strangely, yet still extends his hand.

"I'm Will. Janes boyfriend." He says, strangely stiff. I definitely recognize him and then suddenly I remember.

"Oh! Your Avery, my cousins, boyfriend!" I say, the realization surprising me. And then I look down at his and Jane's hands entwined, and I look back up at him in accusation. "Are you cheating on my little cousin Will?" I ask, my hands curling into fists.

"No! No! We're broken u-" He begins, but a dancing Alosha cuts him off. Her scantily clothed body grinds against me,and the red mini dress she's wearing begins riding up. Oh...she's drunk.

"Baby! Don't you wanna dance!" She says, hooking her hands around my neck, and whipping her straightened long black hair all over the place.

"Love...i'll dance with you in a second. I've just gotta beat this guys' ass." I say trying to unhook her hands from around my neck. Suddenly she stops dancing and looks up at me, her eyes suddenly dark and sober.

"You promised...no more violence after that time in Madrid. You promised."I find myself locked into place by her gaze, all of the anger slowly draining out of me, replaced with an abundance of love for my angel. I look over at Will, and notice him holding Jane protectively. I won't beat his ass. I shake my head and roll my eyes at the two and then turn back to Alosha.

"You're my angel. Did you know that?" She smiles brightly, and kisses me softly on the mouth.

"I'd say the same to you but...you're a bit more of a demon than an angel. Yet...you still make me whole. I love you." She hugs me tightly, and kisses my neck. "Can we go up to your room?" I nod with a broad smile and pick her up bridal style.

"Of course."

Cayt Thompson

"Where are you going?"

Cayt paused in the front doorway, mid step. It was late enough to where he knew for sure his father had to be asleep, but the deep booming voice calling out to him made him think otherwise. Cayt's blood ran cold in his veins as he turned to meet the heated glare on his father's face. A quick observation revealed a nearly empty whiskey bottle clutched in his fist and a dazed, drunken look in his eyes. Cayt sighed and swallowed down the urge to whimper.

"Nowhere. I was just about to go to the library."

"With no backpack?"

"I was just going to take a look, plus I don't have a card so I wouldn't be able to-"

"Stop lying to me, Cayt."

Cayt wrung his hands together and bit his lip. He wasn't planning on going to the party that girl had mentioned, but new school new identity. He could at least try.

"Dad, please," he whispered in a soft voice.

"Come on, Katie, but some bass in your voice," his father boomed.

Cayt flinched and made a step towards the door.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"I'm going to the library, dad!"

"You aren't going anywhere."

"You can't keep doing these things..."

"Like hell I can't. My house my-"

"Kyle?"

Cayt's father stopped his advance as Cayt's mother peaked her head over the staircase. She clutched her robe around her and looked worriedly between the two.

"Kyle what are you doing with Cayt? Cayt, sweetheart, what's going on?"

"Nothing, Aimi. Cayt was just going to the library."

With a small gasp, Cayt slipped out the front door and ran off into the night, finally free.
---

The house was big and loud and intimidating. Cayt clutched his hands together at the sheer size of the place, as well as the number of people that were in attendance.

'Find the girl, get out,' he thought as a mantra to himself. He took a few carefully steps up to the front door and was just working up the courage to enter when he was forced in from behind by a group of drunk looking guys. Cayt stumbled inside and, as soon as he got his footing, ran away to upstairs. There were less people up there, but they were all either naked or getting there and making out in the hallway. He stepped over a particularly busy couple and rushed to the balcony he'd spotted from outside.

His heart was pounding in his chest and there was already a sweat dotting his brow.

"This was a mistake," he panted. "Why did I come here?"
A pale imitator of a girl in the sky.

Jane was scared of being here in the first place. She just wanted to show up for Kristin. So, I joined her. But we didn't make this so obvious. At all. We didn't even dance together. Well, I don't think we would. We aren't dating or anything.

I was standing in the office the was just off the front entrance. It was too weird to be here, so I needed some space to myself for a little, and Jane was alright with it, she just ran to Kristin. I sat on the desk, looking over the book shelves on the back wall. Since the music was muffled by the room, I decided to play my own from my phone. Matchbox Twenty started to sing as I pushed myself off the grand maple desk and onto the hardwood floor. I reached the book shelves and looked over the titles and authors.

Her father was a great man with an amazing mind, so no wonder the books he read were so prestigious. There was Hemingway, Twain, Shakespeare, Dickens, Poe, even Rowling! I took one book into my hand, it was The Old Man and The Sea. This book was my first real book that I ever read, and I fell in love with it. I was around eight years old when I picked this book up in the library.

My sister and I went to the public library in New Jersey. She decided it was time to get her new copy of Seventeen and that I learn to be a 'big fucking boy'. Yeah. she called me that a lot. At the age of eight.

"Bill, let's get you a book." we were already inside and we were by the magazine racks.

A nickname she thought was clever for me was Bill. I personally hated it, but got used to it after eight years. She liked being different.

She had just dyed her hair bleach blonde with a single purple streak by her face. As a typical teenage girl, she had worn a cake full of makeup on her pretty face. I always thought she was prettier without the makeup.

The library was practically empty, only a few people were here and there. It happened to be the biggest library on the East Coast, and the cheapest. We lived in Harmony, but she drove all her way here cause she says its cheaper. The truth is, she gets to meet her boyfriend here.

We found our way to the children building and there we walked around for a while. She huffed at every book I pulled off the racks. Then, she decided we go to the adult section. There, she found the book.

"This is a good book for kids like you." she smiled, kneeling to my level. "Trust me Billy, it's not gonna get any better, and you might as well know that now."

I took the book from her hands and looked at it, feeling the cover. It was a little rough from the wrinkles on it. The book was thin, but felt like it weighed tons.

Cassie stood up and walked in front of me, headed to the librarians desk. This was the only time she was extremely nice to me. So this book felt like a peace offering, something extremely special to my heart. I followed her and got to the podium, having to stand on my tip toes just to see over it.

"Hey Cass," the guy said. He had short brown hair, and big hazel eyes. He was tan, and as I was told, comes from Greece. So his complexion is ethnic.

"Hey babe." she smiled, leaning over the podium to kiss him. He pulled her close and started to make out with her, making me cringe.

He pulled away, licking her lips as she leaned back behind the podium. She looked over at me, the smile still on her face. I handed her the book and she took it, handing it to the guy.

"Keep it," he smiled.

She shoved the book my way and I took it, hugging it to my chest. This is when I saw it for the first time. I felt something sticking out of the book, so I opened it, seeing a small bag of some white powder. I would automatically call it flour, but I knew otherwise. It was cocaine. I shoved it back into the book and looked at my Cassie. She was already on her way toward the exit, so I had followed her out.

That was the week she started doing drugs.

Coming back to reality, I felt something wet on my face. I brought my hand up to my cheek and wiped it, seeing the clear liquid on my fingers. I had cried. Shit. I haven't cried ever since her funeral. I flipped through the book and read a few pages. The funny thing was, I lost my book the day of her death. It went missing. And that was the one thing that gave me a happy memory about her. She knew what we were and she wanted to save me. That was the only way... and then it was gone.

With an odd feeling, I flipped to the second to last page. In my book, I left a piece of her gum that I chewed on the second to last page. It was the last page of the story, but not of the book. I never understood why each book had two pages left blank. Why waste paper like that?

I let the gum dry over night on the radiator just so it wouldn't stick to anything else. It worked. It was also a memory of her because it was her favorite gum and that last piece of gum I've ever chewed. She always had a piece in her mouth, even on the day that she died. It was winter green flavored.

My heart was racing as I turned the page to the last one. Oh my. It was there. I even brought the book up to my face to smell the gum. Winter green. On the very bottom of the page is the piece of green gum.

I couldn't believe it. This was my copy. I flipped the pages to the first one. The public library stamp was whited-out and on top was written Piest. How did they get my copy? How did I never see it every time I walked into here? Why was it that now I realized this was something I should've looked at? What's going on?!

Shoving the book into my back pocket, I walked to the door and opened it, engulfed into the party. I headed straight for the front door. Jane would survive without me. I walked out and ran to my pickup. I didn't realize my phone was still there.

It was time to visit my sister.

I was so happy Avery found out. I really needed my best friend back. And I also needed this secret off my chest for a little bit. It's good for someone to know, and why not Avery.

"Also Ave?" I asked.

"Mhm..." she hummed.

"Call me Jasmine, I know you're used to Bradley, but just don't call me that. I like to be Jasmine."

"Of course," she smiled.

We stepped out of her room and into the party. A few people were actually up here, all over each other. It made me cringe. There was a couple eating each others faces by the bathroom while a threesome was about to happen just in the loft. I heard Avery huff as we walked passed all the people and toward the stairs.

"That's just horrifying." Avery hissed.

"Tell me about it," I replied.

Making our way down the stairs, I see a guy run out of the house, slamming the front door behind him.

"Will?" Avery whispered under her breath.

I looked over at her and saw the mix of emotions bounce on her face.

"That's his name?" I asked.

"What happened?" she completely ignored me and ran down the stairs, and out of the house.

I found my way back down and opened the door, looking outside, bracing the cold air. Avery was running down the driveway and into her car, driving off behind a pickup. I walked back inside and suddenly felt lost. My best friend ran out and left me. Maybe I could find someone to speak to. How about the girl who gave me the cig! I walked around the smelly teenagers and found that Jane girl with another person. She was a blonde with pretty blue eyes and a petite body. I walked over to them and smiled.

"Hey, I'm Jasmine." I introduced myself.

"Oh, hi." Jane smiled. "Sorry about earlier, I had a bad attitude."

"It's alright."

"I'm Kristin!" the blonde said with an accent.

"It's nice to meet you two, what do you guys do in a party like this?" I asked shyly.

They both looked at each other with smiles glowing on their faces. A burning feeling grew at the pit of my stomach as I watched them think.

"You know what..." Kristin sighed, suddenly sad. "I have to check on Oli, my boyfriend." she said to me. "He just ran, so you guys do whatever." and she was gone.

I was left with Jane who started downing her beer. She looked so miserable. Like something in her life wasn't working. Actually, all these people looked all fake about being happy. Everyone had a difficult time being excited.

"You know who you remind me of?" Jane asked me.

Not again. I sighed, standing just in front of her. I started tapping my heel to the music, which happened to be Avicii.

"Who?" I braced myself.

"This girl I wanted to be."

"What?" I thought out loud.

She looked at me, than at the floor, swallowing loudly. All this sadness was crowding her vision, I could see the tears collecting in her eyes.

"Yeah," a smile came across her face. "I always imagined myself as a girl like you. I can already see it. You're dressed all pretty, and you're extremely nice. You probably even have straight A's." she lifted her head to look into my eyes. "Sorry about this, it's stupid. I'm drunk, that's all. See?! I wouldn't be drunk if I were the way I imagined myself, you."

She pushed herself away and ran down the room. I followed after her, but once I reached the stairs, she was gone. I walked up, pushing past people. That's when I noticed a guy. He had blue hair and an attractive face. I walked up to him, leaning against the stair railing. He had his head in his hands as he shook. I knew he couldn't have been crying.

"Um," I hummed. "Hi," I said.

The guy lifted his head. I was right. He had no tears, just a frustrated look.

"Hi...?" he replied.

"I'm Jasmine, I just saw you alone up here, thought I'd introduce myself." I smiled.

Guys. I was reading the Storybook from the start. I cried. So, if you're thinking of doing it, don't. Just, don't. Everything is so different now. I'm gonna try to get my characters back on track cause I just realized how fucked up they are, excuse my swearing. As you saw, Will is getting back. Jane is almost here and Oliver, he's new so he's still sorta finding himself. And same with Jasmine. Back to your roots guys!

Oliver Hemingway

Something was wrong. I felt it in every bone in my body. Something bad just happened, in this moment. And I don't know what it is. Is my mum okay? My sister? My dad? What's happening? I felt sick to my stomach.

"Oli, are you alright?" Kristin asked me, concern shaping her face.

"No," I breathed out, looking all around the place. Everything seemed fine, but I knew otherwise.

"You're not getting sick?" she asked.

"No, Kristin. I have to see something. Stay here." I said hurriedly, running out of the house.

The only thing I could do was hop into my car and dial up everyone I knew. Mum was fine, so was dad. My sister was sleeping, so she yelled at me. Well, she is in Europe, the time difference is tremendous. The last person I thought to call was Lacey. And I actually called her.

Just listening to the dial tone made me nervous. I put the car in reverse and drove out, heading down the street.

"Hello?" she asked. I heard some kind of music playing in the background. She was okay.

So I hung up, tossing my phone on the passenger seat. I decided to play my radio and all the typical songs played. Shit, don't they have any real music here?! I then hit the CD button and Pink Floyd drummed through the car.

"Fuck!" I slammed my hand into the steering wheel, accidentally hitting the horn.

Something was wrong, I was never mistaken on those things. But what the hell was it?! The next thing I knew, I saw a car on the side of the street. It wasn't familiar, so it wasn't anyone I knew. Will had left an hour ago, and this wasn't him. I pulled my car to the side of the street, right behind the car. It was damaged at the front, the bonnet all crumpled in the middle. I turned my car off and hopped out, finding my way around the car.

That's when I realized I knew this car. Oh my. I ran to the passenger door and saw a familiar face of a young male. He had curly brown hair and tan skin, just like his younger sister. I felt myself gasp as I searched for my phone. Shit, forgot it in the car.

I ran back to my car, grabbed my phone, and ran back to the crashed one. Dialing up emergency services, I tried to pull Emmett out of the car. I did my best and managed to throw him over my shoulder and into my BMW. His hand was bloody, as was his head. A slight concussion, maybe. I threw him in the back seat and noticed he was breathing, good. He better last. I hopped into the drivers side and waited for an answer.

"Hello, emergency services. How may we assist you?" A robot. Thanks. "I need an ambulance..." I started to reply.

"We will direct you to ambulance services, please hold."

"The fuck! I don't have time to bloody hold!" I yelled into the phone.

Some bland music played and a few minutes later, someone answered. Hopefully, it will be a breathing person.

"Hello, ambulance services." Robot. Help me God.

"I need an ambulance on Strewn Road crossing with Higgins Avenue." I said.

"What sort of assistance do you need?"

"I bloody asked for an ambulance! What the fuck do you think?! An ambulance, pronto!"

I took a deep breath and shut my eyes, starting the car so it could heat up. I do not need Emmett to freeze now.

"I do not understand your service. I will get a representative." The voice was calm, so fake. Can't they get someone real to ever answer?

"Finally!" I huffed.

After what it seemed like forever, someone real answered.

"I hear there are some concerns?" A lady answered, trying to sound as fake as possible.

"Yes! There bloody is! Get real people to answer! I need assistance, not a bloody robot!" I yelled.

"I apologize for any inconvenience..." I cut her off, because finally, I actually could.

"I don't give a rat's ass! Get me an ambulance on the crossing of Strew Road and Higgins Avenue! Or you know what, inform the ER that I'm bringing a victim from a car accident and get someone to take care of the accident on this crossing, pronto!" I yelled clearly.

"I didn't quite get that from your volume..."

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I took a deep breath. "Inform ER that I have a victim from a car collision. I am bring him over. There was a collision on Strewn and Higgins. Get someone to take care of it" I said, a little more calmly.

"We understand your worry, but yelling will never help. I just informed ER, so drive him over. And the police will be right there."

I put my phone on the middle console and felt all the stress in my bottle up into my head and through in a migraine. I hated migraines. But this is what I get from stressing. I shut my eyes for a moment and caught myself having an optical migraine. Not now. I needed to drive. I found an Advil in my middle compartment and downed it, shutting my eyes for a few minutes. Finally, it faded slightly enough for me to drive.

Once I reached the hospital, it was almost gone and I could see where I was going. I drove from instinct. That's me, driving blind. I carried Emmett bridal style and found myself in the Er.
