Spoiler
Hey, Dragonette. Funny seeing you here, eh? xD
Without further ado, meet Cassie, daughter of Hephaestus. (CABIN NINE RULES!!! *cough*)
Name: Cassandra (Cassie) Pyralis Krawe
Age: Fourteen
Parents: Carolyn Krawe and Hephaestus (You gotta love the big guy! xD)
(I added the "Strengths" and "Weaknesses" categories under the "Other" option. They're mainly for my personal purposes.)
Strengths: Cassandra, like Hephaestus, can manipulate the element of fire, although she hasn’t discovered this fact yet. (Leo stole that idea from me!!! Darn it, Riordan! Haha) She can summon fire from within herself to use, but it is easier if she has a source to pull the heat from i.e. a lighter. Cassie is immune to high temperatures, and heat can be gathered as a source of strength for her.
She is strong-willed, tenacious, and does not like defeat. Once you’ve bonded with Cassandra, she will protect you until the end. Although she doesn’t like to admit it she has the personality of a leader, but sometimes her unwillingness to get close to others hinders her leadership skills. Cassie is smart (though without common sense), and she is a talented creator, builder, and engineer.
Weaknesses: Like water extinguishes a flame, most liquids and cold temperatures weaken Cassandra’s abilities. It really annoys her when someone splashes water on her, so children of Poseidon, beware. Lol
Cassie is a perfectionist which causes her to be frustrated a great deal of the time, and to make rash decisions. Her temper can get the best of her, but is extinguished quickly. Cassandra’s hair sometimes sparks when she is mad or upset. She takes her projects very seriously, and she forbids herself from getting distracted from her work, often shutting herself away for hours, even days to labor on her task. It’s an unhealthy habit that she has developed over the years.
Appearance: Cassandra, though being fourteen, is tall, standing at around 5’8”. She is a slim, athletic looking girl who carries herself with confidence. With large, icy blue eyes, expressive features, high cheek bones, and porcelain skin, Krawe is beautiful. This is rare for a child of Hephaestus, the lame god of the forges, but Cassie’s mother was a gorgeous, graceful young lady. Thick, blonde waves of hair frame Cassandra’s face. She doesn’t resemble her father very much in her appearance, except for her rough, calloused hands, the mischievous, excited sparkle in her eyes, and slightly dark skin.
Personality: To begin with, Cassie is a brilliant young woman, capable of
creating most anything on the spot or figuring out how an object operates. Mostly silent, Cassie is constantly assessing and observing situations, gaining information about practically everything. It is difficult for something to go unnoticed by Cassandra.
When engaged in conversation, she comes across slightly distant. It’s not that she doesn’t enjoy the company of others, but friendship is difficult for Cassie. She is afraid of getting hurt, or upsetting other people. After all, when a person is broken, you can’t fix them. Machines are easier for Cassandra to be around.
Also, she uses sarcasm and jokes (often dry) as a self-defense method, and a way to lighten the mood. (Heh. Get it? “Lighten”, like “light a fire”… Oh, never mind. My puns are awful. xD)
Cassandra Pyralis Krawe is a sweet enemy and a bitter friend.
Brief history: Raised by a single mother definitely had its challenges, especially considering that Cassie is a dyslexic child with ADHD. She feels resentment for her father who disappeared after her birth, because she doesn’t yet realize who he is.
At a young age, she started noticing odd occurrences around her, common for most half-bloods. For instance, strange men with tails followed her in the second grade, shadows haunted her room throughout fourth grade until her mother noticed (and put an end to their reign of fright), and her P.E. teacher in middle school repeatedly “accidentally” misfired arrows at Cassandra during archery lessons. (He was relieved of his work at the middle school after that, but Cassie swears she still sees the teacher lurking around the school, watching her. The malignant, almost insane look in his eye when he shot the arrows at her haunts Cassandra to this day.)
After the incident with the misfired arrows in sixth grade, Carolyn Krawe decided to move from her home in South Carolina to New York, allowing Cassie to be closer to a certain magical camp. Cassandra didn’t understand at that time the reasoning for the sudden move, but her mother certainly did. Carolyn registered Cassie for a boarding school in the city during Cassandra’s eighth grade year. And that’s when everything changed. (Dun, dun, DUN! Cue the music!!!)
Spoiler
Cassandra Krawe, as of the story currently, hasn’t discovered her place in the world of gods and heroes. She has not made the journey to Camp Half-Blood yet.
Favorite Weapon: Considering the fact that Cassandra hasn’t become aware of her true identity yet, she does not possess any weapons. However, her father, Hephaestus, will gift the slim sword Celosia to Cassie. “Celosia” means burning, and the blade indeed burns. Cassandra can call upon her weapon at any time, and the sword will appear in her hands out of a pillar of flame. (Dramatic, right?! Haha
Magical Item: A small celestial bronze square that can X-ray machines to see the mechanisms’ inner workings. It is useful to find hidden items, or check over a machine's status quickly with no hassle.
Up for love: Yes, but you have to break through Cassie’s barriers first. She is a great lover and friend. However, she can be uncomfortable with people at times, much like her godly parent.
Holy Apollo's cows! That was a long app, guys! I apologize, but I got *slightly* carried away... Just slightly. xD
