Revolution [open/started]

Hey everyone! Auxiira here with a new storybook! Hope you'll find it interesting...^^

History:
During a period of peace thirty years ago, an airborne virus quickly became a pandemic that infected almost half of the population. The first generation of infected suffered no lasting effects apart from a dark bruise-like mark that appeared above their hearts. They also lived no longer than 15 years after having contracted the virus. Their children (the second generation), however, were mutants with animal characteristics such as ears, horns, tails, padded hands, wings…along with improved sight, hearing, smell… (whatever goes with the animal of their mutation).
Soon after their discovery, mutants started to be captured by the humans (non-mutants) for testing and experiments, but also as slaves in the humans’ homes. After that, communities started to segregate with the humans behind walls to “protect” themselves from the mutants, who were moved to slums and left on what the humans don’t need. There are people called slavers who go into the slums and capture mutants for the humans.

It is now the year 2102. The mutants are considered as inferior life-forms, only just better than animals and they’ve had enough. They’ve started plotting a revolution and are more than ready to take a few human lives to gain their freedom. However, the few humans that live in the slums have told the other humans behind the walls about the revolution. They will do anything to stop it.

Reserves a MUTANT for me...

Name: Kari

Age: 17

Mutant/Human: Harris hawk mutant (wings, eyes and sight). She doesn’t really want to join the revolution.

Appearance: Kari has long black hair that falls in front of the left side of her face to hide scars, very pale skin and dark brown eyes. She’s around 1m85 and very light (hollow bones like birds).
Her wings are like this:
She can fold them away on her back so that they’re almost invisible under her clothes.
She likes to wear the rare army cast-offs that she finds in the dump next to the wall (combat trousers, a tank-top and a jacket with slits cut in the back, army boots, a beanie and leather gloves). She always has a satchel with her so that she can store what she scavenges.
She always carries at least two knives in her pocket and won’t hesitate to use them on anyone who gives her trouble.

Personality: It is very hard to gain Kali’s trust as she is more likely to hit you than ask questions. However, once you have her trust, you have it for life. She’s a very loyal friend and will do anything if they’re in trouble. Even if you’re her friend, she’s sullen and talks little. She isn’t very good at approaching people if she wants to, so tries to avoid doing so. She also has a kind side that she hides behind hostility. For instance, she wouldn't let another mutant be captured by the slavers if they weren't able to defend themselves
She’s a very good fighter and always has a dagger on her somewhere.
Kali’s quite a quiet person who prefers to be by herself then joining a group. The only thing that really makes her happy is flying or being in high places. She is claustrophobic and afraid of the dark and does anything to avoid being in situations including the both of them. She also really doesn’t like being touched.
When/if she falls in love with someone, she is extremely shy and has a complex about her scars, making sure that the person that she loves cannot see them. She almost tries to avoid them.
She abhors the discrimination against the mutants and would like nothing more than to kick some human back-side. However she doesn’t want to join the revolution. She thinks that it would be better just to kill them all. She hates having to hide her wings so that she isn’t captured.

History: Kali’s parents were first generation infected but didn’t know about the second generation mutations until they had her. They completely rejected her, calling her a monster and locking her in a tiny cupboard for days a time with no food.
When she was six, her mother committed suicide, leaving her with her father who drank and blamed her for everything that went wrong. He beat her and she was always underfed. Once, he threw her onto broken glass, giving her scars on the left side of her face, her legs and on her arms. She now covers the scars on her face with her hair and wears fingerless gloves. She never fought back because she didn’t want to prove to her father that she was a monster.
By the time she was ten, however, Kari had lost that frame of mind. She decided that she was going to escape no matter what. She managed to push past him on a day that he brought her food and escaped into the countryside surrounding their house. She started to make her way to the city and learnt how to use her wings on the way there. It took her a year to get there. She thought that people would accept her more if she was there but she was wrong.
When she reached the slums, she quickly learnt that you had to at least try to hide your mutation unless you wanted to be caught by the humans. She became very handy with a knife after almost being captured by the humans when she was 13.
She scavenges for a living and makes little models out of the scrap that she sells to a trader. She uses the money to buy food at the market. She’s also pretty good at fixing the small amount of motors and machinery that are in the slums.

Up for love?: You can try, but its really not that easy, and she’ll probably deny her feelings for anyone.

Other: She may join the revolution at a later stage, but for the moment, she’ll avoid anything to do with it as far as possible.

Profile:

Name: James Carrington (And Parents)

Gender: Male

Age 16

Mutant/Human: Human. Lives in a large manor house that is in town but boarders on the countryside. 

Appearance: James is off average tallness for a boy his age. He has a soft tumbling of brownish blond hair that curls around his ears and the nape of his neck. He is quite strong and helps his father out with work outside but he is not athletic or thin. He tends not to like any forms of masculine sports and prefers music and nature. He is well fed and has a healthy glow about him. James has light brown eyes like his mother. His father is dark haired and blue eyed while his mother is blond. 

Personality: James is vastly innocent for his age. His family kept him quite reclused and he doesn't know much about the history of the pandemic and the mutants. He has just started learning the human history for a couple of years now. James is a pianist and playing the piano is one of his favourite past times. He also enjoys nature and exploring the large feild and creek on the edge of the forest not far from his manor home.
James parents are always warning him about danger of infection from the enviroment.  

History: James resides with his well-to-do family. They are rich but not posh or uptight, they are generally nice people; although to themselves they are. The family is fed, like most of the population alot of propaganda about the mutants. They are genuinely lead to believe that the mutants are less than human. However because of James innocence he is only just learning about it now through his private tutor and textbook. James family keeps up with trends throught te population but are hard workers. They did not gain their wealth and status easily. Mr (Henry) Carrington(46), James father is staunch but not cruel. He would purchase slaves but he would not physically abuse them. Mrs (Annabella) Carrington(40) has had her fair share of cakes and maintains a buxom full figure. But despite her chubbyness she is not obese and still manages to have an aura of prettiness about her.  

Up for love: No opposition. A character should never be closed to any possibility even if it is not initially sought after.  

Other: I will be writing about James parents as well as James but they will not be a focus of Point of View. 

Also James father is going to purchase two slaves.  I would like at least one person to volenteer for this but two people may. If only one person does they can share writing the other slave as an extra in a similar style to the parents.

Gender: Female

Mutant, Lilly was born with a slender black cats tail is always getting in her way. Lilly has great sense of smell being 1/2 cat and amazing eye sight.

Personality: She is very shy at first and doesn't let many people too close because of her past. She tries to hid her wings as much as she can. People scare her. Lilly cries a lot for the other mutants and her family. Sometimes she just wants to be normal.

History: When Lilly was getting older her parents and her started noticing things growing on her back, they went to every doctor but they couldn't identify anything. So now she hates doctors.

Name: Nadia Harlem

Gender: Female

Age: 8

Mutant/Human:Mutant. She has bat like ears and wings attached to her arms. Nadia has amazing hearing and is able to fly. She doesn't really know whats going on so I can't really put anything here.

Appearance: She is tiny and very thin. Nadia has dark chocolaty skin and Big dark green eyes. Her long black hair falls to her shoulders and she usually has someone braid it for her. She usually wears a tee shirt and some kind of pants with her black sneakers.

Personality: She is very quiet and shy. She usually is hiding behind one of the few people she trusts or shes doodling in a mud puddle near by. She doesn't talk much she usually just stands and listens or nods quietly. She does talk but only to a lucky friend, and its usually in a whisper.

History: Her mother died in child birth and her father committed suicide 4 weeks later. A young couple found Nadia in a box outside her family's small house and took her in as their own. When Nadia turned 4 she started turning more bat like so her "family" took er to the forest and left her there to fend for her self. She survived for 2 years on nothing but pond water, tree bark, and blueberries. By the time she had turned full mutant she had be found by a human and was a slave for 2 more years til they were freed.

Up for love: No Nadia thinks boys are gross

Other: She needs a friend and she doesn't earn trust very easily.

any way, basically, it's a cream tabby with brown wings that was originally a forest cat, until she discovered her wings.
Her story is pretty sad. She used to live with her parents with a large group of cats, until the humans invaded, and her parents left her in their desperation to get away.
All alone, she set out into the forest and scrounged a living for 12 years. During that time, she discovered that she was like no other cat, she was a mutant.

Swifty, does she look more like a cat than a human, 'cause what I'm going for here is humans with animal characteristics... And I think that I'm going to limit it to the mutations of only one animal, so winterbites, please decide which animal characteristics you want the most...

And Blackwood, maybe get to that a bit later, otherwise I might get round to it. The mutants have to be captured though.

Oh I was going to have the father bring slaves home in my first post. Of no one wants to start out as a slave it's fine, but I thought it would be a nice starting point because it would establish their position; I noticed alotof storybooks have people wandering around meaningless at the beggining.

Well, she does have the ability to morph into her true form any time, (her true form is a cat).

they don't really have "true forms". Just characteristics of one animal.
