My name is Rylie. I'm new. My friend, PurpleMoment told me to join. I am a writer. I am also deaf. PM and I went to school together. She said that you are all so very kind, helpful, respectful, and just overall wonderful people. I've never joined a thing like this. So please be patient if it takes me a while to get the hang of things.

Since it's Review Day, you can't submit anything until 7 PM EST (12 AM GMT), but you can definitely read and review! I think it's too late to join a team, but every review counts toward our goal of 650!

So glad PurpleMovement invited you. It's always nice to have writing friends IRL, too. I have one or two. It's fantastic because you know they won't just read your stuff and be all "This is good," and then have nothing else to add, yeah? XD But, basically, that's what this place is for! So you don't feel like the only person who writes about things that don't exist because there's people complaining about the fact they don't have stories written yet in your head. Makes you feel sane. As a pretty old shoe to the site, I will also brag about it and claim it will probably help you improve your level of writing skill, just because people finally giving you concrit. -nods-
I assume this will be doubly helpful for the deaf thing. I know I go to a writing group wherein there is a guy with Tourette's and me with my accent, but there's a difference, I'd bet. (No pity here, just logic. Note I've been bedridden since September, and for that YWS has been a lifesaver.)
Aaanyway, don't worry about most people being twerps and giving you trouble for being the 'newbie'. There's been an influx of new members as of late, ever since the site was revamped really, so I'm pretty sure there are more new people than old people. Us oldies are in the minority (and I'm even more of a mid-life crisis member of the site). So, yeah. Also, there's a lovely thing called The Buddy System wherein you could get yourself a mentor for a month in case you also have a fear of 'looking stupid' like myself and most other people. Also, recall, scientifically, most people will forget your 'fail' within ten minutes.
Anyway, hope you enjoy this place and if you need any help or have posted something that needs a review, feel free to hit me up. -tips hat-

Most of us like to be very warm, helpful and friendly and even though it is currently review day, many of us would be happy to check out any works you post after review day.
