Best Film of 2012?

This is tricky because some of the films you guys mention aren't actually out here yet.

I did enjoy Perks of Being a Wallflower and Looper was much more than I expected.

I'm going to throw a curveball and say that the film I most remember enjoying this year was The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki, which I saw in the cinema this year. Loooooved it!

I feel that I must add mention of the Avengers. People can slate it and call it cheesy all they want, but IT - WAS - GOOD. Anything with Hiddles and Robert Downey Jr is fabulous.

Avengers because you have no idea how long I waited for this explosive cheesy superhero movie. Plus, how could I forget, Hiddles!<3

And I must say, I enjoyed Safety not Guaranteed - mostly because the ending brought out the best facial expression from my brother that I've ever seen.

I haven't seen the newer films yet but I'm working on it.

Skyfall was this year's best film. It celebrated everything great about a franchise which has lasted 50 years.

Apart from that Les Miserables, Argo and Looper deserve honourable mentions.

The Dark Knight Rises was better than The Avengers but doesn't deserve a seat as one of the best of 2012! And Avengers was good mostly because of Robert Downey Jnr.

SKYFALL WAS SO FLIPPIN' AWESOME.

1. Moonrise Kingdom (Anderson)
2. The Master (Other Anderson)
3. The Turin Horse / A torinoi lo (Tarr)
4. In the Shadows / Ve stinu (Ondricek)
5. A Royal Affair / En kongelig affaere (Arcel)

The Gatekeepers was my favorite documentary.

Looper would make my long list, along with so many others being mentioned such as Django Unchained and Beasts of the Southern Wild.

Disappointing films? The Hobbit (despite my love of Freeman), Les Mis, The Intouchables.

I'd have to say that Moonrise Kingdom and Beasts of the Southern Wild were two of my favorites this year, but Skyfall was amazing, as was the Avengers.

Definitely Life of Pi.

I haven't really read through everybody's top picks, but my favorite this past year was, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."

I really enjoyed the plot and the character of innocent Charlie. You really fall in love with the characters as the story develops. I really loved the usage of music, such as David Bowie's, "Heroes," as the "Tunnel Song," in the film. The also amazing aspect of this movie was that I liked it better than the book. The book I felt had to much unneeded sexual activity and I didn't connect with the characters reading the book as much as I did watching the movie. The acting was superb with Logan Lerman as Charlie, Emma Watson as Sam, and Ezra Miller as Patrick. If you have a chance to see the film when it comes out...take it!

Perks of being a Wallflower and The Campaign. Though I doubt The Campaign will hit it off :\ PBW just has to get nominated.

The lack of Cabin in the Woods in these lists disgusts me. It's a smart genre-bending movie about the evolution of the horror genre.
