Best Film of 2012?

I agree, he was a pretty cool criminal. But please spare a thought for a character who BELONGS in Bond: Q
Yes, the geek. Ben (can't remember last name) and Daniel Craig had a good thing going. He was amazing and a great new look on an old old character. Q's in the films have always been old, but a young geeky Q works really well and adds a bit of humour.
Example:
Q: There is an access door to your left.
Bond: It won't open!
Q: It should do...put your back into it!
Bond: You come down here and put your back into it!

I'm surprised no one mentioned Cloud Atlas. I just started the book so maybe it doesn't hold up as well or something, but I was so moved by the film

Also, I loved Django Unchained. Christoph Waltz is my faaaaaaaaavorite actor *_* I don't usually like Tarantino (that always seems to surprise people, I guess I look like an uberfan), but once in a while I have to concede that he's good at what he loves to do.

Film wise, last year was my favorite ever. So many amazing movies and I love making lists, made this some time ago so i'll share mine here.

- 1 The Master - Paul Thomas Anderson is my 3rd favorite director of all time (2nd among currently working), behind Kubrick and Spielberg. PTA gets more and more Kubruckian with each movie and he definately excells at it here. Performances from Leaf Phoenix and Hoffman worthy of oscars (sadly no for both) and an amzing score from Jonny Greenwood.

- 2 Life of Pi - This film is amazing and seeing as The Master got no best picture nomination, Life of Pi should have received it. It looks more amazing than Avatar did, but unlike it, the story is incredible. Bringing up religion and the human mind, it's a movie that makes you think.

- 3 Cloud Atlas - This one snuck up on me, and I didn't really hear about it before someone told me the Matrix guys (or guy and girl now) had a new good movie out. And when I saw it, I was amazed. Based on a book (which i currently have lined up in my reading cycle), it seems like an incredibly hard story to film and much less explain. It's one you'll have to see.

- 4 The Hobbit: An unexpected Adventure - My most anticipated movie of the year. It didn't fully deliver, but it's still an awesome journey. Unless you live under a rock, you have seen it.

- 5 Django Unchained - This movie is badass. It's the ultimate revenge story, full of awesome, funny scenes and blood. It also had one of my favorite movie endings.

- 6 Flight - Robert Zemeckis is also among my favorites and after a decade of mediocre motion capture/animation movies he is finally back to live action. And the result is great. Denzel Washington also shows that he is still very much one of the best actors out there.

- 7 Prometheus - My 2nd most anticipated movie. Did not fullfill it's potential, but I loved it nonetheless. Hopefully the sequel delivers, as I love the Alien franchise.

- 8 Wreck-It Ralph - Wonderfull animated film. Probably my favorite Disney movie in years.

- 9 Seven Psychopaths - This cast brings together all your favorite, weird supporting characters. And it is awesome.

- 10 Chronicle - One of the best found footage films i've seen. Check it out.

Beasts of the Southern Wild. I would say Django Unchained but the fact that Beasts had an all amateur cast and still kicked ass at the theater sealed the deal for me.

Flight would be the second runner up after Django. This has been quite a year for black actors.
