I follow, not finding Rayah anywhere, and glance around before running off to find where she went.

Rayah

My thoughts blacked out, hearing beeping songs all the way. They throw me somewhere, something else being enjected into me, and I go numb.

Nic

I come to Jace's side and make him lie back, hushing him, "Shh. Jackie and I'll find her. Just stay still, okay?"

Jace

As soon as I nod and relax, Nic flashes out and leaves me. My heart pounds in my chest, a pain spreading throughout my torso again.

Jackie

Not finding her, I look everywhere. Biting my lip, I stop in the middle of the hallway and think.

Rayah

Blood is taken from me, my face draining color, and they lock me in a closet.

Nic

I flash to Jackie's side and grab her hand before flashing to Rayah's aura.

Jace

I swallow and try to calm down, the machines I'm hooked up to causing a ruckus.

Jackie

I thank Nic and scoop Rayah up, carrying her to Jace.

Rayah

Still blacked out, my neck tilts my head back as Jackie carries me.

Nic

I stop Jackie before just flashing us back there, not wanting to take any chances.

Jace

They come back with Rayah and I take another deep breath, calming down, "W-what's wrong with her?"

Jackie

I lie her next to him and sigh, "They injected vervain in her veins. She'll be fine, just...shaky when she wakes."

Rayah

I stay asleep, not moving and still numb.

Nic

I watch them before headed to the bathroom to wash my hands.

I swallow and look over her, weakly taking one of her hands again.

Jackie

I sit beside them, "You guys really are a good couple."

Rayah

I stir, it hurting every time I move.

Nic

I scrub my hands off, unable to get all of the blood off, before giving up and leaning against the sink.

I flash a smile, looking up at Jackie, "So are you and Nic."

Jackie

I roll my eyes, "No I mean like...you guys are adorable. Like...the perfect couple's you'd see in romance movies. Like, the sweet kind. The kind that always go off on cute little vacations in Hawaii," I smile.

Rayah

I move so my head is resting on Jace's chest, feeling safe around him.

Nic

I dry my hands off and take a deep breath, calming before walking out. I hear Jace and Jackie talking about couples and hesitate outside the door, listening.

I study her, "And you and him aren't?"

Jackie

I sigh, "It's complicated. Sometimes we are, sometimes we aren't. We're more...intense, than romantic. I don't know how to explain it."

I stir once more and turn so I'm on my back.

Nic

I lean against the door frame, neither noticing me yet.

I study her before nodding and watching Rayah, "What's the difference between sweet and romantic?"

Jackie

I think, "Sweet equals...adorable, cuddly, complimenting eachother almost every second of every day. Whereas romantic is...spending every moment with eachother, pushing everyone aside just to be with them. Having those moments in your chest were all you want to do is kiss them, candles and flowers and just...loving that person until the end of time."
