Soon to be a published Author!

After years of writing I finally managed to create a manuscript good enough to get published! I signed a contract with a publishing service called Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency (SBPRA) about four or five months ago, and after a long stage with the editors touching up my manuscript it's finally gone off to the text layout and cover design teams. It won't be long now until my first book, Legacy of Krazatan: A Hero's Birth, hits store shelves.

I'd like to thank all of you on YWS. Nate, the moderators, my friends, and all the rest of you. I've been writing and polishing my talent ever since I joined this site in 2006, and if it wasn't for all of you this dream would have never come true. To show my thanks, I've put a dedication to this site in my book's acknowledgement page, so once it comes out be sure to look for that.

Congratulations! I hope my local bookstore will have a copy so I can check it out :3

I'll be going to every bookstore chain I can find to try and get them to carry my books, but in the meantime I will also have a website where you can order the book directly for yourself. It's print on demand. That's one of the things I'll include on my twitter as soon as I find out when I get that website. It'll be soon though, I can tell you that. Nothing's set in stone yet, but my own estimations put my book's release date somewhere from late January to early February.

CONGRATZ A MILLION!

I knew that before I signed a contract with them noninjaspresent. That's why I did extensive research on them beforehand. I looked up author testimonials, and spoke to one of my friend's friends who had a book published by them. I couldn't find any real evidence of them scamming people out of their cash, their contract was straightforward without any loopholes (I had our family lawyer look at it before I signed anything), and they've been working real close with me ever since the publishing process started. This method of publishing isn't for everyone to be sure because there's a lot of work that has to go into it on the author's part, but for someone in my position it's a great place to start to at least get my name out there.

Besides, they publish their books through Barnes & Noble. In a purely business standpoint it would be a terrible idea for them to scam authors because it makes the famous Barnes & Noble look bad by affiliation.

Congratulations! So, as others have said, don't pin your hopes on them for the career as such, but use this as opportunity to learn the business from the inside - cover art, editing and editing compromises, book blogger bugging, etc. Enjoy!
