I stayed on the tightrope, watching everything that was going on. I whistled for attention. "Little old Tamer's up here, Boss! Jez and I had a little chat to calm me down! Don't ask! Brotherly business if you know what I mean!" Jez looked up. "How did you get up there, Tamer?!" I laughed heartily. "Hello! Telekinetic, remember?!" Nick and Jez laughed with me. Sometimes they forget that I had telekinesis at my disposal. I always knew Nick liked a good laugh from time to time and so was I. Nick looked up at me. "Just don't fall while you're up there, Tamer! Only heaven knows what'll happen if Chaos heard you fell off the tightrope!" I rolled my eyes. Chaos was one to care less about people, much less me. I didn't even want to know what Chaos would do if I fell by accident.

I walked towards Nef and Vesta. "Normally I wouldn't butt in on conversations like this, but I feel like my word in the matter is needed." I grinned wickedly. "In a metaphorical matter, we need to cut off the head of the snake. Cut the head off the snake, the body has an hour left to live. After that..." I collapsed in midair and pretended to be dead. "Might be easier said than done, considering that Kili might attempt to double-cross us so she could have things her way." Vesta looked at me like I was crazy or something. "You sound like you don't trust Kili, Chaos." I growled. "I never did trust her. If she thinks she can break my brother into becoming my slave, she's in for a very nasty surprise. If she even tries to break my brother, I'll create a wall of earth with my power and crush her like the bug that she is." I clenched my fist, showing Nef and Vesta that I meant business.
Look down and show some mercy if you can. Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.
I began to walk away, waving for Chaos and Vesta to follow behind, I took paces until we reached the big top, which was the easist thing to spot at the camp. I waited and took a quick note of our surroundings before I spoke up.
"Chaos calm yourself, she fails to hide her intensions, I plan to deal with her as soon as her usefulness runs out. She doesn't know the true meaning of control, nor will she ever. Chaos, Vesta, she's a danger to the operation, to successfully take over I can have no one planning to uprise against me. So once we have Steve bound, she'll be dealt with post haste." I said.
"Kili, you knew from the start?" Chaos asked.
"Of course, she's as easy to read as a book, even easier to break. When the time of execution comes, I'll show her the full extent of my power." I said.
"Alright then, so like I said, when do we start?" Vesta asked.
"Soon, once I talk to everyone who I believe will join us, I will call a meeting, and we'll meet on how we'll take over." I said.
Vesta nodded, Chaos folded his arms, I smiled my evil smile, and made my way into the big tent, I saw them there, Nick, Tamer, and Jez. I needed to get Jez alone, and hopefully soon, and then Leona she'll be useful for controlling the lions and other animals that were in there cages.
"Hey Jez, mind if I chat ya real quick?" I yell to her.

She has long brown hair that she typically curls, a light tan, and green eyes. She's about 5'6" and slender with slight curves. When performing, she pulls her hair into a ponytail and wears a purple and black leotard with black, slightly sparkly leggings. Normally she wears a light blue flowy top, dark blue skinny jeans, and knee-high black boots.
Personality: While Xan is beautiful, she's brutally honest and secretive. She's a flirt and uses guys to get what she wants, coming off as innocent and sincere. She's very intelligent and independent, thinking that the circus will accept her for who she is without controlling her. She's always a few steps ahead of everyone else and always calm, cool, and collected, never letting her emotions get the best of her. She's always on guard and carries a pair of butterfly knives hidden in her boots wherever she goes.
Weaknesses: deathly afraid of spiders, holds grudges, a sharp tongue that gets her in trouble, not trusting
Strengths: strong willed, confident, generally easy to get along with, calm under pressure
Dislikes: bell peppers, not getting her way, being treated like a child, being turned down/ ignored
Likes: dancing (which she puts into her routine), being the center of attention, iced tea, winning
Other: Up for love

After a long bus ride and walking nearly a mile and a half, I finally saw the big red tent. Sweaty and tired, I just stood there at the top of the hill, staring down at it and smiling like an idiot. I was finally here. To my surprise I had butterflies in my stomach, and I couldn't help but wonder if they'd accept me. What if they were full? What if they just didn't like me? I shook my head. Of course they'd accept me, an I they didn't like me, who cares?
I jogged down the hill, straightening my backpack and brushing my hair out of my face. It was strangely empty, not a person to be seen. Were they not around?
"Hello?" I called.
No answer. I poked my head in the nearest tent. No one. I waled over to the next one, which was just as void. Finally I made my way over to the big top, feeling relieved to see people inside. Standing in the doorway I cleared my throat so they turned and looked at me.
"My name's Alexandria, but I go by Xan. I want to join your circus," I said, a small smile playing my lips.
A red-haired boy narrowed his eyes a bit and stepped forward. "Why?"
I shrugged. "Same as most of you, I guess. I don't have anywhere else to go or any other good way to make money."
There was a slight pause as everyone studied me. "Well, what can you do?"
"It's best if I show you," I said, pulling out my iPod and walking over to the sound system.
Plugging it in, I quickly flipped to The Garden by Mirah. Moving to the beat, I started off dancing gracefully. As the beat picked up, I began to show off my contortionist skills, twisting my body and stretching my legs up over my head. When the song ended, I untwisted myself and waited. There were some nods of approval and raised eyebrows but no applause. What were they thinking?

We are all quite stunned by the girl's act. I mean, we knew all about strange and weird, but contortion is just plain strange, no matter how you put it. Nonetheless, she had a great act, and I never turned down someone with powers. I step forward again.
"Well--Xan, was it? That was pretty spectacular," I smile and extend my hand, "Nick, I'm kind of the leader." I hear audible snorts from several people, notably Kili and Chaos, but I know that Nef is also thinking sarcastic thoughts.
"So...I can join?" Xan asks, beginning to smile.
"Of course," I say, grinning, "We were just about to start rehearsing for the show. Why don't you go hang with Livy, over there." I direct her to Livy, "She's our former newest member. She'll show you the works."
I turn back to everyone else, "Alright, people, let's run the show. Same order as usual, but Xan will be added right before intermission as the first act finale. Lets get through this so we can get dinner, maybe head into town again."

"Well--Xan was it? That was spectacular," the boy said, smiling and extending his hand. I breathed a sigh of relief and shook his hand firmly. "Nick, I'm kind of the leader." At this I heard a few snorts from the others. It was clear that some of them didn't respect him very much.
"So... I can join?" I asked, not bothering to mask my excitement.
"Of course," he said, flashing a grin. "We were just about to start rehearsing for the show. Why don't you go hang out with Livy over there," he said, pointing to a short but sweet looking girl. "She's our former newest member. She'll show you the works."
I walked over to her and she gave me a warm smile. I was so relieved and pleased to be accepted that I couldn't help but return the smile.
"Don't worry, you'll like it here," she said, giving me a wink.
"Anything's better than the orphanage or begging on the street," I said, chuckling bitterly.
"Alright people, let's run the show," Nick said, turning towards us. "Same order as usual but Xan will be added right before intermission as the first act finale. Let's get through this so we can get through dinner, maybe head into town tonight."
Livy leads me out of the big top and into the second largest tent. Looking around, I realized this must be where the girls slept, by the looks of things. There were several sleeping bags in the tent, each one roped off with towels, blankets, or sheets for privacy. It was by no means spacious, but it was tidy and well put together.
"This is where the girls stay," she said. "Just pick a place to lay your stuff down."
I put my stuff in the corner, pulling out my own blankets and pillow. I unpacked my few belongings; a brush, a few toiletries, a small bag of makeup, my stage outfit I bought for the circus, and my black stuffed cat, the last thing my mom gave me before she died.
"If you're done unpacking you should probably change into your stage outfit and then we should help with rehearsal," Livy said.
It took me a second to realize I had been staring at the cat, distracted by the painful memories. I stood up and put a smile on my face. "Right."
Livy ushered me into her own section of the room so that I could change behind the makeshift curtain. I quickly slipped into the leotard and leggings, but I hesitated when it came to taking off my boots. I never went anywhere without my knives and it would be impossible to hide them in my leotard, but I also couldn't wear boots while performing. I reluctantly took them off, making sure both knives were well hidden.
"Ooh, cool costume," Livy said, nodding in approval.
"Thanks," I said, twisting my hair into a ponytail.
"Okay, so I don't think we've missed much of rehearsal, so I'll still be able to show you what we do backstage to prepare for a show," she said, leading me back towards the big top again.

I sneer when Nick tells this new chick that he's the leader. As if, as if. He seems to realize that he might lose us, and hurriedly moves on to tell the girl what we were doing. She goes to talk with Livy, and they leave to get her settled. I smirk. This new girl, Xan, won't know that I can invade her mind. This is going to be fun. Unfortunately, I have to get through practice first. Nick is getting all of us into positions for the start of the show, with Steve's and Vesta's help. I'm on first, as always, to do stupid cartwheels and flips and crap like that, while simultaneously using my power to rev up the patrons. It's so demeaning, but I'll do it. For now. I do my bit, and then go and sit in the stands, right when Livy and Xan come back. I grin. Time to mess with some heads. I approach the two.
"Hello, Xan," I say sweetly, "I'm Kili. Welcome to our humble circus."
Livy looks at me suspiciously, and I smile innocently.
"Thanks," Xan says and turns to watch the acts begin. Slowly, I begin to work myself into her mind, making her feel bored with the goings on. I smile again. It's working.

New girl who can strech out? Sure, I'll take her, tho I don't see a use in her power, but I'm bound to think of something. Ah I know, she can capture and hold all those who oppose my plan, including Kili. I had to remember to talk to her later, but as the acts went on, I was figuring out who would commence the attack, first I had to move everyone into position. Chaos would take care of Oliver, I would take out Jez during our act since we both acted together. Kili would need a distracted Steve to take over, and then, damn it, this would have to be a multi pronged attack. Not the easist to pull off, then again what is? I already see Kili, in place probably forcing herself into the new girls mind already. I had to take care of that before she could cause any damage, I make my way over to the girl.
"Kili cut it out! Yo new girl over here will ya?" I ask.
An angel, a knight, a man who will bring light to where there is only darkness, I am the Morning Star, the Bringer of Light, hail to me as I am King Lucifer!
Livy and I were approached by a small blonde girl right as we walked into the tent.
"Hello Xan," she said, with a wide smile. "I'm Kili. Welcome to our humble circus."
Livy gave her a look but she just smiles wider. I was feeling a little wary of this girl. I'd have to keep my eyes on her.
"Thanks," I murmured, turning to watch the act. I felt an instant wave of boredom. This wasn't as thrilling as I expected.
"Kili, cut it out! Yo new girl, over here!" a girl dressed all in black said, motioning me over.
I wasn't feeling bored anymore, oddly. "I'm sure it'll only take a second," I said to Livy before walking over to the girl.
She smirked and led me a little further away. "Sorry about Kili, she manipulates emotions. I'm Nef, by the way, and-"
"Wait, she manipulates emotions?" I asked. That made a lot of sense.
"Yes," she said seriously. "You should watch out for her. Anyways, speaking of powers, I saw your act. Pretty impressive flexibility. Tell me more about your power."
I was taken back for a second by her boldness, but I only hesitated for a second before answering. "Well, not only can I bend my body just about any way, I can stretch and flatten my body as well." I demonstrated by elongating my arm and then making it as thin as paper.
"Interesting," she said, studying me. I could tell she was up to something.
I shrugged nonchalantly. "It's alright. So what can you do?"
A wicked grin spread across her face and she raised her hand, sparks jumping and flying from it. "Electrokinesis. Want a demonstration?"
I smirked. "No thanks."
"I'm just joking anyways," she gave a small laugh. "But what I really wanted to know is your opinion of the circus so far."
Of course she wanted to know my opinion. She definitely had something in mind; I'd have to be careful about what I said around her.
"It's better than the orphanage," I said, looking around the tent. "Too many kids and not enough food or anything to go around. Not to mention the lady in charge didn't give a rat's tail about any of us."
"That's not to different from this place actually," she said darkly, her smile leaving her face. "Nick doesn't know how to run it, but I do. I know that if I was in charge, things would be a lot different. And I could use your help."
So that's what she was after. She'd probably already made up a plan and recruited a few others to help her with mutiny. It was an interesting plan, but I wasn't so sure about joining forces with a girl I didn't know yet.
"I see what you're saying," I said. "But I don't know if I can over throw a guy I just met when I don't know how he actually runs this place yet."
Nef narrowed her eyes at me. "You'll see soon enough, and I'll let you judge for yourself. My offer is still open."
I nodded. "I'll consider it."
I will review for you! PM about it if you need one!
I wondered if joining Nef was the right choice. It was better than following someone who claims to be our leader and doesn’t even know the first thing about it. I just hope I chose the right side; I had no desire to lose to someone like Nick. This battle could give me a chance to develop my powers even more.
I was so lost in thought that I didn’t notice the new girl walk in. I hear the name Xan and then music. I look up to find a 16 dancing. Nick allows her to join and she starts walking towards Livy, where Kili introduces herself.
"Kili cut it out! Yo new girl over here will ya?" I hear Nef ask. Xan walks over and starts talking with Nef.
Xan seemed nice enough, but her power was weird, unlike anything I’ve ever seen. If Nef tries to recruit her and she refuses and tells Nick about our plans…we were screwed, but if she joins us, she could prove useful. Nef was taking quite a gamble; I just hope she knows what she’s doing.

I am the opening act for the second half and I take off starting my floor routine. I hit the nail on the head with it. I nod to Tamer and do a flip as he moves me my long pink rope to the middle. I slide down and place my foot in the hold. I start my more elegant routine. I slide down the rope and on to the ground once I am done.
I am huffing and puffing. I grab my water bottle and drink a large swig of water. I walk over to the new girl, feeling bad for not saying hello. "Hi." I say. ''I'm Jezebel, but everyone calls me Jez." I say.
"I'm Xan." She says.
"Nice to meet you, you are going to have fun here." I say. I smile at her again and turn to Nick. "Are we definitely going out later?" I ask him.
"Yes we are running good time." He say.
"Great." I say. I turn back to Xan. "Well I am going to change. I will see you when we go out." I say. I turn and go to the girls tint. I change into my dark jeans and my sweate. I pull my hair down and let the curls fall. I slip my shoes on and head back to the performance tint and watch the last few acts.
Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart -Winnie the Pooh
As we go through the show, I'm pleased to see how well everyone has their acts down. I even manage to ignore the fact that Nef is trying to make me out as the bad guy to Xan, although I realize that I will eventually have to confront Nef about this whole situation. When Jez is done with her act, she walks up to me.
"Are we definitely going out later?" She asks.
"Yeah, we are running good time," I say, smiling.
"Good," she heads out to the girl's tent, and I turn my attention back to the show. I am second to last in the second act, and I go through my routine perfectly, making things disappear and reappear at will. When I'm done, Chaos and Tamer do their thing and then we're done. Everyone gathers in the ring and I grin at all of them.
"Great job, guys," I say, "Let's hit this town up!"
We all split up to get stuff from the tents, and I wait outside the girl's tent for Livy. When she comes out, she smiles.
"Hey," I say, "You wanna, like, get some ice cream or something?" I know I'm flushing crimson.
